Pulling up weeds by the root - gives me shivers. I can’t even walk past them in the street.

OP posts:
Greyponcho · 05/10/2018 23:15

Excavating a crusty bogey, that still has a stringy but attached higher up so that when you pull it out it tickles the back of your eyeballs Blush
Oh, and totally emptying the laundry basket, washing machine AND the ironing basket... bliss far too short lived though

bananafish81 · 05/10/2018 23:16

Even in sporner corner I don't think anyone has posted about squeezing anal glands

And there is a LOT of amazing grim stuff posted Grin

Justwanttoweeinpeace · 06/10/2018 00:02

Separating a split end and getting it to split right up to the root.

My hairdresser isn't impressed.

Justwanttoweeinpeace · 06/10/2018 00:04

And clothing factories of all kinds. And going into a Distribution Centre for the first time and being blown away by the sheer scale of some of them.

Like being an ant in a shoe box 😂

DonttouchthatLarry · 06/10/2018 00:31

Removing ticks from the dogs and popping them between sheets of loo roll - DH and I fight over who gets to do it.

I love this thread - so many things on here that thrill me (especially squeezing spots and clean sheets Grin) .

Plucking out a stubborn chin hair Blush, getting in to bed when the bedding has just been changed and looking around my kitchen when everything is spick and span.

bellsbuss · 06/10/2018 00:38

Oh and when I have a very large poo and feel instantly lighter

MotherFluffyBottom · 06/10/2018 00:45

After squeezing washing up liquid into the sink, turning the bottle upright and giving it another little squeeze so that a cloud of tiny little bubbles comes cascading out. It works best with fairy platinum.

SpoonBlender · 06/10/2018 00:45

I fold my crisp packets into a solid triangle. Mmm. I can do it one-handed now, after thirty years of practicing. Thank you Nic for teaching me!
Running my hand over a buzz-cut head.
Firing up the motorbike. And I'm not one of those twats who revs them. Twats.
De-seeding the cats when they come in covered in stickies.
Pouring the peanuts, grains and mealworms into a tub to mix for birdfeed.
Pouring the birdfeed mix into the birdfeeder.
Pouring coffee beans into the grinder.
Actually I really like pouring things. It was the only truly useful thing my chemistry degree taught me.
Having a cat rub its head on my chin and snuggle. I guess that one's not particularly weird!

And of course as a wise man once said, "There is nothing better in life than writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro". (trigger warning: early 80s alternative music)

Getting your finger under nail polish and peeling the whole thing off of one finger in one go

VerbeenaBeeks · 06/10/2018 00:52

Came on to ridicule after reading the title and then read the opening post.
Pulling up weeds counts as mindfulness and therefore sensibleness and I get it lol.

SpoonBlender · 06/10/2018 00:58

@Suomynona Oooh. I've just come home from nasal surgery and had a very slow drip nosebleed since waking up, so I'm reaaaallllly looking forward to doing that now! Maybe in the morning, if I'm lucky.

If I'm unlucky I'll have my face stuck to the mattress. We'll see :D

19lottie82 · 06/10/2018 01:11

OP I love pulling up weeds too! We have paving slabs out at the back of our house and there’s LOADS! So much fun Grin

I also like plucking my husbands eye brows as he has a few random ones on each side that are long thick and jaggy, I call them his “funkies”. I think when I first realised I was in love with him was when he asked me to pluck them out for him!

CaptainCabinets · 06/10/2018 01:20

Finishing all the laundry.

Cleaning under soneone’s manky nails.

Peeling a satsuma all in one go.

Flossing out food that’s been stuck between my teeth.

Squeezing blackheads.

Getting rid of limescale buildup (Viakal is a godsend)

Being the first to use a new toilet roll.

Getting stains out of things.

Getting all of my knuckles to crack - if one resists then I am displeased.

Opening a new bottle of hand wash, where you spin the pump and it pops up.

Rubbing the back of DP’s head when he’s had a fresh grade 1.

I could go on all night.

NomorebloodyBing · 06/10/2018 01:21

Wasabi.
Slightly too much of it makes my head tingle as my skin electric Grin

CaptainCabinets · 06/10/2018 01:21

Oh, and throwing something at the bin and getting it in first time!

WillowPeach · 06/10/2018 04:09

Popping spots and feeling it go 'pop' grim sorry haha
The rusty smell of water fountains
The smell of new catalogues
Watching my cats happily slurping away at their food
Blowing my nose - i'm obsessed with having an 'empty nose' lol
Thunder, lightening and heavy rain (only if i'm indoors though!)

mmgirish · 06/10/2018 06:32

I love the satisfied feeling of having all my devices fully charged! Mac, phone, kindle, power block and ipad - it's a glorious feeling, especially before a trip.

TheNoodlesIncident · 06/10/2018 07:23

Getting the seal off the top of the milk bottle cleanly. If it doesn't come off properly I have to stand and pick at it until it's all gone, so a clean sweep is the opportunity for joy.

Standing staring up at a really enormous tree. Bonus points if the sun's shining through the leaves too.

Also all the plucking hairs ones, getting that bulb on the end is amazing. Bonus for chin hairs as they're so bristly.

The first use of a bottle of shampoo or conditioner, when it's so quick and easy to come out the top. More pleasurable when the previous bottles have been upside down for ages.

The feeling and squeaking of walking on snow.

Really good crisp ripple marks on sand when the tide goes out.

A well built bit of dry stone wall. Could stare at it for hours. When DH brought the boxes of Christmas decorations from the loft of our old house, he managed to fit them all - sixteen of them! - into the Golf. The arrangement was beautiful, I don't know how he managed it. (It's usually me who manages to get the whole shop slotted into the fridge tetris style.)

I once had a blob of the white sticky stuff you get in your eyes, but this one went in a long string all round under my eyelid, and when I pulled it out it tickled divinely. It was so fabulous I couldn't speak for a minute.

I dry my hair in my bedroom and the carpet gets covered in hairs. If I rub my slipper repeatedly across the carpet I can get it matted up into a dreadlock. Gross but so satisfying to pick up and chuck it in the bin. There's still loads for the vacuum's brushes though, bleugh.

CutesyUserName · 06/10/2018 07:41

Hoovering the perfectly hoover shaped slot between two cabinets. I moved one very slightly so the hoover just slides in without a centimetre to spare. Oddly satisfying.

The little 'loading' icon thing on the B&Q website when you do a search (looks like a paintbrush painting a box).

MrsBobDylan · 06/10/2018 08:59

Picking dandruff out of my kids heads.

Really large industrial structures, gas towers especially are beautiful. I used to get excited to drive past those big chimneys in Sheffield till they blew them up. It me sad now they aren't there.

Thatstheendofmytether · 06/10/2018 09:03

Packing, I feel so satisfied and fulfilled when I know I have absolutely every single thing we will need, for any type of weather ( I tend to go a bit overboard and pack for too much)

ThrillitDontkillit · 06/10/2018 09:52

Putting Dettol in a really hot bath. Not just a capful, about a third of a big bottle. Then laying in it being slightly scalded and stinging. Afterwards sniffing my arms constantly, when they are all Dettol-y smelling. I love that. Love it.

ForalltheSaints · 06/10/2018 09:57

Any time someone ends a relationship with Nick Knowles.

DecafLatte · 06/10/2018 09:57

Gently Wiping away crusty bits of sleep from my cat’s eyes 👀 Blush
