To think this would be a good name?

Before I start I am not pregnant or TTC or even thinking of giving a child this name

Calamari.

If you don't know what it is - it's fried squid. I did not even know this until a few months ago. I thought of the name Camari and suddenly, there it was! Calamari popped up into my mind somehow. I searched it to see the origin ect. and such and found out it wasn't a name for a human but for squid dishes.

I still think it's so sweet sounding, like Lily or another traditional name. Say Calamari was actually a flower, it would be an unusual but beautiful name.

So, if you forgot the squid thing and heard Calamari, what would you think? Does it sound like a good name?

I was thinking along the lines of Loo as a nickname for Latrine Grin

How about Calimero?

I really like Chloe and Rebecca in equal measure, and simply couldn't choose just one of them, but they sound a bit clunky if you double-barrel them; so I would simply merge them to make Chloéca. What a beautiful, pretty name that would make.

Same with boys names - I love, love, love Colin and Onslow, and couldn't decide between them, so I'd try to merge them into one strong-sounding name for a DS.

Our surname is Piper, so I think both of those would flow very nicely; great thread, OP - it's a wonderful outlet for everybody's creativity.

Tampax is a great alternative for Lilet

If it wasn't the name for fried squid and meant "beautiful lotus flower", it does sound pretty.

However, it does mean fried squid and ergo can never be a child's name.

When I used to commute and I'd be stuck in traffic looking at the car in front of me, I used to muse on car names a baby names. I like Astra, Tigra and Vectra for 3 girls 😄. A friend of a friend called her daughter Fabia and I blurted out "like the Skoda?" 😳 I also think Lucifer is a beautiful name with a beautiful meaning, but there's no way really, is there?
