To think this would be a good name?

Before I start I am not pregnant or TTC or even thinking of giving a child this name

Calamari.

If you don't know what it is - it's fried squid. I did not even know this until a few months ago. I thought of the name Camari and suddenly, there it was! Calamari popped up into my mind somehow. I searched it to see the origin ect. and such and found out it wasn't a name for a human but for squid dishes.

I still think it's so sweet sounding, like Lily or another traditional name. Say Calamari was actually a flower, it would be an unusual but beautiful name.

So, if you forgot the squid thing and heard Calamari, what would you think? Does it sound like a good name?

I've always thought Pizzeria. Or Lilet.

Xpost. Yes, ignoring what it actually means, yes, it's a pleasant name.

If I didn’t know how to pronounce it, I would say “callamarie”.

But it’s still no good 😂

madeoficecream · 30/09/2018 22:01

Ohyesiam · 30/09/2018 22:02

It sounds like lunch. But as you say, if roses were called calamari people would certainly name their daughters after them.

SaucyJack · 30/09/2018 22:17

I think Calamari would go very nicely with Frittata for a pair of twin sisters.
