Benidorm ...my idea of actual hell

I can't think of anything worse than going to Benidorm.
I go on holiday to have a relaxing holiday away from normal day to day life.
My friend has just gone and every night is just drunken Brit's dancing to sweet Caroline drinking cheap alcohol.
Am I alone in this? I'm only 32 but this is just my idea of hell.

Just stay home doing nothing then. Simple

The Spanish low income Pensioners get a free Two Week stay, I believe it’s to keep the Hotels running in the low Season they love it.

Only partially true. My parents are Spanish high income pensioners and they still take the government subsidize holiday several times every winter. It's not free but very very cheap. You can apply to as many as you wish and if there are spaces, you get accepted. There's some sort of priority system but it's not difficult to get a place.

In any case, Benidorm might be a nightmare in high season, but after the beaches are quiet and it can be rather lovely.

Why can't you accept that different people like and dislike different things?

YANBU. It is my idea of hell, and so I wouldn't go there. But I also accept that my regular (rather niche) summer destination is an actually hellish idea for most of the population.

Undercover. One last time with feeling, Sandals offer Romantic Holidays for couples they don’t say “ mixed couples only” they are Adult only Resorts. There were same sex couples when we visited but if they were Gay I haven’t a clue as I didn’t follow them to their rooms.

Lots of things don't appeal to me so I don't do them. You must know that plenty of people would find this type of holiday unappealing?

Would replies which mock the 'common' types that enjoy getting pissed and singing to crappy songs validate your superiority?

Not my cup of tea but so glad people prefer different holidays to me otherwise my holidays would be expensive and very busy!

If you had a crap hotel clarich007 you were obv paying low for one in an area most only stay if on a hen/stag. There are some beautiful places to stay with food to rival Mexico etc all inclusive with spa facilities and very peaceful.

OP.. YABU.. of course there are worse places to go. If you don't have an experience of a place any opinion is pretty void. I've been to some Greek party islands for the nightlife and also back as a parent elsewhere on the same islands and the holidays incomparable but both perfect for my lifestyle at the time. Admittedly once I 'adulted' myself the trips were more cultured and restful appreciating the beauty of the places we were but I didn't avoid the place because of preconceptions...
