Sofa delivery at midnight

sunstrokecity · 27/09/2018 23:28

Ordered a new sofa, got confirmation email this morning that sofa would be delivered between 20:00 and 22:00.

Delivery driver called at 22:30 to state the obvious, he was running late.

Has just called again to say he will be here at approximately 00:00.

AIBU to think 00:00 is far to late to be delivering a sofa to a normal home address on a Thursday evening?!?!?

What firm delivers at midnight?

sunstrokecity · 27/09/2018 23:32

Apparently furnish 365 in Oldham. For clarity we are based near London

I'd hate that. I guess you could refuse but I very much doubt you'd get it tomorrow, you'd probably have to wait until next week.

sunstrokecity · 27/09/2018 23:35

I asked him on the phone what would happen if I refuse now and he said they are fully booked with deliveries for the next 2 weeks!

DH and DC are in bed and I'm trying to stay awake to let him in with the bloody thing!

Neighbours are fan be out with their pitchforks if he wakes them!

I’d not be happy but the poor delivery drivers have probably had a shit day. I would accept the delivery but complain afterwards if you felt it warranted a complaint.

Creeper8 · 27/09/2018 23:36

depends how bad you want the sofa..

maddjess · 27/09/2018 23:36

I would refuse delivery and demand a refund. Fucking ridiculous

sunstrokecity · 27/09/2018 23:37

I'm not impressed, both DH and I have to be up at 5am for work tomorrow! Threw the old sofa out today so do kind of need the new one ASAP annoyingly!

They should change their name from furniture 365 to furniture 24/7.

sunstrokecity · 27/09/2018 23:41

Haha coffee I'll put that in my email to them tomorrow!

Wait up and get your sofa, and then complain.

Madness.

happinessischocolate · 27/09/2018 23:45

My sofa was delivered at 1am, it was suppose to be delivered the following day but the drivers were going to be nearby and phoned at 9 to ask if I wanted it early. I was happy as it meant not having to wait around half most the day.

MrsCrabbyTree · 27/09/2018 23:46

Very annoying situation for you but I feel for the delivery people as it seems like a long work day.

UbercornsGoggles · 27/09/2018 23:48

Our kitchen was delivered at 11 pm. It took ages to unload it all off the van, I really felt sorry for my neighbours, but I felt even sorrier for the poor delivery guys

Buggerbrexit · 27/09/2018 23:55
Shock
sunstrokecity · 28/09/2018 00:02

Really hoping it isn't too far away now!!

The sofa now isn't coming until next week! I could literally scream in so angry that they have had me sit up waiting for them for it to then be cancelled

OP posts:
HelloSnow · 28/09/2018 00:16

Why have they cancelled? That's outrageous, they were on their way??

Leeds2 · 28/09/2018 00:17

That really is outrageous!

Is there an excuse?

wonderstuff · 28/09/2018 00:19

I’m angry for you!

SlowlyShrinking · 28/09/2018 00:21

Wow, that’s annoying!!

sunstrokecity · 28/09/2018 00:22

Bloke hardly said anything, just that he wasnt coming and someone would call tomorrow

OP posts:
DolorestheNewt · 28/09/2018 00:24

NO! I was just reading the thread and gearing up to keep you company!

Piebeansandchips · 28/09/2018 00:26

You need to go nuclear on the company tomorrow

Candlelights2345 · 28/09/2018 00:27

Can you cancel and get a refund? I wouldn’t trust them after this.
