Obviously don’t know the full facts, but the photos
Show the police being pretty heavy handed.

They look Muslim, so presume don’t drink alcohol, they have regularly buy the water from other branches of Tesco.
This behaviour by the police looks like the sort of treatment meted out by racist officers towards African Americans in the US.

I am disgusted by the thuggish behaviour of the police and I hope Mr. Hussain succeeds in his complaint to the PCC.

I've reported MilkyTea for her goadiness.

I suggest others just ignore it.

EarlyModernParent · 01/10/2018 01:35

Not 'Justice for Tesco couple', 'Tesco justice for couple'. Which they have already had. Sorted.

marcopront · 01/10/2018 03:11

Tesco were the ones who instigated the police presence at the incident which then resulted in the violent police attack on the two shoppers.

So Tesco are also ventriloquists and they made it sound like the man called them over?

PhilomenaCunks · 01/10/2018 03:56

MilkyTea20 has had a history of posting absurd goady posts (check their advanced search results, some of them are real crackers) and should probably be ignored

SoupDragon · 01/10/2018 07:27

There’s no arguing with stupid.

Charlie97 · 01/10/2018 07:41

@MilkyTea20 why are t you suggesting that people just boycott Tesco?

SunnyInGrimsby · 01/10/2018 09:50

I can't believe there is a petition supporting the goady Tesco water couple. Hopefully another one will be set up telling them to go away - talk about being desperate for 15 mins of fame.

Banned for being abusive and offensive. And rightly so.

Allergictoironing · 01/10/2018 10:05

I don't even shop at Tesco! I wish I WAS funded by them, could do with the money Grin.

Why do you assume that anyone who disagrees with you, or even points out an error (e.g. who called the police over) MUST be funded by Tesco. I may as well suggest that you are funded by the couple involved in this incident.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 01/10/2018 10:05

Who's Tesco-funded?

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 01/10/2018 10:05

I'm Lidl-funded ta very much.

Charlie97 · 01/10/2018 10:07

@MilkyTea20 WTF did your last post mean?

Confused.com!!!

NC4Now · 01/10/2018 10:09

They committed a public order offence and were arrested. What’s the story?

SoupDragon · 01/10/2018 11:50

So we now have Tesco-funded posters trying to have people criticising the company banned from mumsnet. What a disgusting organisation.

Care to explain?

BrownPaperTeddy · 01/10/2018 15:56

What really shocks me now are the number of adults who absolutely cannot hear the word "no". I see it so often now. As soon as someone refuses to do what they want, even if the declining is perfectly justified, many grown adults throw an epic toddler tantrum.

Some people need to do an awful lot of growing up.

RebelRogue · 01/10/2018 15:57

Where do I apply for my Tesco funding? Could really do with some cash..or do they only pay in water bottles?

Hoppinggreen · 01/10/2018 15:58

Brown I see you’ve met mil!

WeLoveFlowers · 01/10/2018 16:05

I haven’t read the entire thread but this couple seemed to be spoiling for a fight. Obviously there was an issue with buying that quantity of water for ‘personal use’, then they refused to stop filming and refused to leave when asked. Then they carried on ridiculously resisting arrest. I feel sorry for the poor cop who was backed into a corner. What a waste of taxpayers’ money.

It shocks me how many police officers on here think its illegal to a,buy too much water and b,to break tescos rules

It really shocks me how apparently intelligent people can get their facts completely wrong even after they've been stated many many times in the same thread.

A) the police don't think it's illegal to buy to much water.
B) nor do they think it's illegal to break Tesco's rules.

The man called the police over, the policeman just happened to be in Tesco, the policeman asked man to leave store, man refused, man argued with officer, man assaulted officer, man got arrested for assault.
Is that simple enough for you?

No need to be shocked; I doubt if any posters, police officers or otherwise, think it is illegal to buy too much water. It is actually impossible to buy too much water as you can buy as much as any shop is prepared to sell you. OTOH, if you commit a public order offence if you are not happy with the amount of water a shop will sell you, then you are breaking the law!
