Couple charged with assault for trying to buy water in Rochdale Tesco

Obviously don’t know the full facts, but the photos
Show the police being pretty heavy handed.

They look Muslim, so presume don’t drink alcohol, they have regularly buy the water from other branches of Tesco.
This behaviour by the police looks like the sort of treatment meted out by racist officers towards African Americans in the US.

I am disgusted by the thuggish behaviour of the police and I hope Mr. Hussain succeeds in his complaint to the PCC.

Why were they in Tescos?
As has been said, the police just happened to be there getting lunch.. they are allowed to eat..

why did another 5 police vehicles come to the store?
On Facebook it was mentioned the guy threw a bottle at a cashier and hurt her nose. The couple also registered arrest. I'd imagine the officers called for back up to stop it escalating further.

Do the police get a discount when they go to tescos?

Probably not but if I owned a cafe/shop they would be getting it free or cheap!

The police are not supposed to where their uniforms when in out of work time so what is going on when you see cops with trolley full of shopping?

CSIblond, I think you misunderstood me. I am well aware large households buy in bulk and will have trolleys containing a broad mix of items. I was comparing with this particular couple whose large trolley was full to the top with nothing but one particular type of bottled water. And I have certainly seen empty shelves of thing on offer and have assumed they were snapped up by normal shoppers earlier in the day. I would be well pissed off it was by people like this pair!

You only get paid for Court if it falls on a day when you are nightshift, lateshift or short notice. Other than that it's a day back, vast majority of my courts aren't paid.

Ah fuck it, might as well....2muchtrouble has it even slightly crossed your mind that officers will be sent to an ongoing disturbance and other incidents which are less of a priority will be dealt with when the officers are free?

The police and staff were patient and told them politely that they couldn't. The fucking idiots wouldn't fucking leave and buy the water elsewhere.
