Obviously don’t know the full facts, but the photos
Show the police being pretty heavy handed.

They look Muslim, so presume don’t drink alcohol, they have regularly buy the water from other branches of Tesco.
This behaviour by the police looks like the sort of treatment meted out by racist officers towards African Americans in the US.

I am disgusted by the thuggish behaviour of the police and I hope Mr. Hussain succeeds in his complaint to the PCC.

I was willing to stop recording

He absolutely wasn’t! That’s clear right from the start when he argued when told to stop.

SoupDragon · 29/09/2018 13:04

...the officer took a swing at the man. You can see this clearly...

Except you can’t see it clearly.

SoupDragon · 29/09/2018 13:05

It’s impossible to tell what went o n as the footage is incomplete.

glagdy · 29/09/2018 13:09

Probably a good job I'm not a copper then because I'd have felt compelled to twat him one too. Grin

Geraldine170 · 29/09/2018 13:15

It's not difficult is It? They have the full info and access to all CCTV/Recordings. They could nip this in the bud very easily. If the officers are in the wrong say so! Equally if it is clear, (which it really is from the video) that their officers were acting lawfully, fucking say so.

They can’t. If it goes to criminal trial if the police have already publicly announced the officers were acting lawfully they could argue it had interfered their right to a fair trial so they’d get off Scot free.

It’s the same with any offence. After murderers or rapists get charged but haven’t been tried the police don’t come out and give interviews saying ‘Yeah, they blatantly did it, boys in blue got them banged to rights’. They don’t comment. This is a lot less serious but the same principles apply.

0rlaith · 29/09/2018 13:21

Threads like this make me feel very sorry for the police. Who are mostly just decent people trying to do a difficult job.

Some of you armchair critics have no idea what shit they have to deal with day after day. They deal with all the unpleasant sides of our society that no none else will touch.

Geraldine170 · 29/09/2018 13:21

If i’d have have gone in a tesco purposely to buy that particular bottled water because it was on offer but i was unable to because some greedy entitled sod had filled their fucking trolley with it i’d be very pissed off

Yes, they’d cotton on that this was happening quite quickly too. The stores would be reordering and their distribution centre would have been running out. You can’t do this and expect them not to notice. Shops have these offers on to draw people in to spend money on other things. They may have been making no profit on it. They will cotton on even if nobody complains.

EmperorTomatoRetchup · 29/09/2018 13:26

Based on the evidence available, both the couple and the copper all behaved very badly.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 29/09/2018 13:30

If this goes to trial the guy will probably try to claim that the comments on Facebook are prejudicial too, which may even be why he plastered it all over there in the first place

Let's face it, it's becoming clear he'll say anything to avoid blame, even down to the usual cry of "raaaycism!!!"

What an absolute farce over some bottles of water Hmm

Puzzledandpissedoff · 29/09/2018 13:37

if he was willing to stop recording there wouldn't be a video and if he was willing to go outside there would be nothing to record anyway

Careful, marcopront ... you're in danger of bringing common sense into it Wink

tillytop · 29/09/2018 13:46

Based on the evidence available, both the couple and the copper all behaved very badly. This sums it up nicely.

marcopront · 29/09/2018 14:09

Careful, marcopront ... you're in danger of bringing common sense into it

Sorry about that.Smile

Scrumptiousbears · 29/09/2018 15:05

I think they should both be ashamed of themselves.

Amitheonly1 · 29/09/2018 15:18

Its quite clear from the video that hussain is being passive when the cop throws a punch at his face

Charging someone with assaulting the police is standard practice when the police have just beaten someone up.

The wife is a maths teacher who drinks volvic watermelon flavoured water at work ,so much so that it is recognized as her quirk and trademark.

Hussain was being argumentative in a peaceful way but was the wrong colour

Amitheonly1 · 29/09/2018 15:23

The woman is a teacher who drinks it all day and her pupils will tell you that this is her trademark.

No need for the cop to throw that punch at 23 seconds.

The tesco employee tells the female maths teacher to calm down as she is being kidnapped and assaulted by racists

Scrumptiousbears · 29/09/2018 15:27

Do you agree that the video clip has parts missing? Why is this? Because it wasn't relevant or because it shows other stuff they don't want you to see.

If your shop is set on fire and your daughter is gang raped they do nothing

woodhill · 29/09/2018 15:32

Yes join Costco to buy legitimately - (tight arse springs to mind)

KlutzyDraconequus · 29/09/2018 15:33

I doubt that...
But if it were true it's likely due to resources being stretched by fuck wits being cunts and from lack of support from the general public, who seem far more intent on filming them and insulting them than helping them.

So basically... Cunts are cunts that cunt it up for non cunts. The cunts should stop being cunts so the non cunts and the cunts re better cunting off.. so who do you support? Cunts or non cunts?

EmperorTomatoRetchup · 29/09/2018 15:40

Charging someone with assaulting the police is standard practice when the police have just beaten someone up.

I don't agree with all of your post or reading of the video, the male customer does inflame and escalate the situation, but the police officer behaves extremely badly too and as a police officer he is rightly held to higher standards and punching someone because they're being a truculant arse, falls well short of that. That's based on an edited video, but at the moment the police officer throws the punch he doesn't appear to be threatening the officer.

I also have repeated experience of that happening to people I've worked with being assaulted by the police and then charged with resisting arrest and or assaulting and let's not forget the disproportionate amount of black suspects who tended to 'trip and fall' down stairs in police stations and black suspects remain hugely more likely to die in police custody.

Some police officers (not all) do use disproportionate violence and this on the face of it would appear to be one of those cases. Officer lashes out and then tries to cover his arse.

ciderhouserules · 29/09/2018 16:13

Tip: Leave the force if the Home Office are instructing you to behave this way. - yep, that's what we all need; fewer police officers.

And how many times (taking bets here ) will some dumbass say 'he threw a punch'??

He didn't.

EmperorTomatoRetchup · 29/09/2018 16:59

cider it is quite clear the copper takes a swing at the bloke, which the block ducks, I'm not aware of any restraint method that involves making a single handed haymaker type swing at someone's head. If you're a serving officer going around calling people dumb assess it speaks volumes about your attitude to the public at large or anyone who dares to suggest that there are officers who make inappropriate use of force. It would be refreshing to actually hear a copper on these threads say, 'yeah sometimes cops overstep the mark, just like every profession there's those who aren't good at their jobs and some who break the rules'. But instead all you get is attempts to defend the indefensible.

Nicknacky · 29/09/2018 17:01

Yes sometimes cops overstep the mark. This isn't one of them and you have a poster who has (disclaimer:allegedly)! witnessed it.

Is that refreshing enough?

In your opinion, others take a different view, as may the ipcc/cps.
