Obviously don’t know the full facts, but the photos
Show the police being pretty heavy handed.

They look Muslim, so presume don’t drink alcohol, they have regularly buy the water from other branches of Tesco.
This behaviour by the police looks like the sort of treatment meted out by racist officers towards African Americans in the US.

I am disgusted by the thuggish behaviour of the police and I hope Mr. Hussain succeeds in his complaint to the PCC.

You are right sunset we are far from perfect. I'm not.

But you are telling an eye witness that she is wrong based on a biased video that still makes them look badly behaved. What must the edited bits look like!?

BedtimeTea · 27/09/2018 23:16

That couple were idiots. Why kick up a bloody fuss over being told they can't buy so much, go buy it elsewhere. Better still, give a thought to the planet and buy refillable bottles and fill from a big cooler or filtered tap water.

RudeZebra · 27/09/2018 23:16

Oh no. A suspected pedophile will be gently stroked and spoken to in a soft voice. In case they upset him/her. Those are ppl that need dragging into cells and off of our streets!!! Grrr

And no doubt once you've seen edited footage of that arrest, you'd be complaining about the use of force for that too. Must be lovely to be able to criticise from the position of your arm chair.

SunsetOnTheHorizon · 27/09/2018 23:18

Ok. Hang on PC Nicky..ahem. She is an eye witness just because she SAYS on mumsnet. 'I was there?!!!' I hope that you use more than a persons word as evidence. (God help us!)

Nicknacky · 27/09/2018 23:19

I'm not a Pc. And I assume nothing. Unlike you.

SunsetOnTheHorizon · 27/09/2018 23:22

Where else would u like me to criticise.... from my front door step? I saw a news atticle felt strongly about it enough tp come on here and waste my precious sleep to discuss this.

Oh hang on...I should be muted too perhaps just like the customers. Maybe you would like to drag me out of my arm chair into the street. bedtime me thinks

coolmule · 27/09/2018 23:22

If the couple had been white it would probably be unanimous they were in the wrong. Because they were “brown muslims” all the virtual signallers are out calling “racism” when there clearly isn’t any and there would be exactly the same reaction if they had been white. They were a nasty pair of troublemakers, their colour is irrelevant.

SunsetOnTheHorizon · 27/09/2018 23:25

I haven't assumed. The couple have spoken to the metro and have told thier version which I would like to side with. If that's ok?

RudeZebra · 27/09/2018 23:25

needing restraining a swipe at the head? Can't he go swipe some paedophile or rapist's head instead? Police are useless, untrained lumps nowadays! It's an embarrassment

You've mentioned training on several posts now Tilly, how would you know? What profession are you part of which gives you your up to date knowledge on OST techniques?

Are you going to explain the assault claim you made earlier, especially in regard to those 3 pieces of legislation. I'm desperate to learn from a legal expert

Nicknacky · 27/09/2018 23:26

sunset And it hasn't crossed your mind at all that they won't admit being at fault even a teeny tiny bit?

MadMum101 · 27/09/2018 23:26

Did you listen to the audio at 2.34 minutes Soup? The officer is saying to the customer he is going to escort him off the premises. The customers then says I don't need escorting, I'm going. The the officer then pushes him over the checkout.

No need.

Or did I watch the wrong video?

5Yearplan4000 · 27/09/2018 23:27

Let’s face it , many of us have seen this kind of obnoxious behaviour in real life. There’s a cetain type of person that does this. It’s all about them and the drama and their rights.

They are just chancers who got caught out.

Tbh I also think corner shop owners/ online retailers who shop for their own stores like this are brainless and lazy. Use proper cheap trade suppliers or cash and carry, not flaming Tesco where everything is quite expensive anyway and labelled clearly as not for resale.

Hope the book gets thrown at these losers.

SunsetOnTheHorizon · 27/09/2018 23:28

We can talk about racism till we are blue in the arse. It's real. It happens. People are dealt with by their colour. Not saying thats what happened here! But no one, not even a cop is free of being inadvertently racist.

Nicknacky · 27/09/2018 23:29

MadMum for ten seconds before it he's talking about moving but not actually moving....just leave when told to first time!

Nicknacky · 27/09/2018 23:29

This has nothing to do with racism ffs.

BabySharkAteMyHamster · 27/09/2018 23:32

The woman started attacking staff and throwing bottles of water at them which is
How it escalated. 🤷‍♀️

SunsetOnTheHorizon · 27/09/2018 23:32

@Nicky They won't as they lived through it. But I do say they are part to blame. I wpuld have just left. @5yearplan sums it up well.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 27/09/2018 23:33

I hope they go to prison for this. They refuse to obey the law, they assault the police for enforcing the law. Its like they think they are above the law just because they are Muslim.

SunsetOnTheHorizon · 27/09/2018 23:35

I agree with the first paragraph not the second btw

MadMum101 · 27/09/2018 23:36

I think the customer was also reacting to seeing his wife being grappled with while he was restrained on the ground, which is why he was angrily threatening the officer. She was obviously distressed at seeing her husband being pushed around and hit around the head. Not sure what method of restraint that comes under.

Nicknacky · 27/09/2018 23:36

He wasn't hit on the head for the millionth time.....

SunsetOnTheHorizon · 27/09/2018 23:40

@Madmum Tell me about it. Tbh i feel actually scared of shopping in huge store like Tesco now.

It's like they want silent robotic customers going around putting things into thier trollies, swipe your clubcard so they have ALL your details of what u bought, when and how. But in return do not question a thing!!

coolmule · 27/09/2018 23:41

We can talk about racism till we are blue in the arse. It's real. It happens. People are dealt with by their colour
Of course it’s real but we mustnt ignore vile behaviour in case it might be seen as racism. Racism is a two sided coin anyway.

Nicknacky · 27/09/2018 23:41

Scared of shopping at Tesco😂

So don't use a clubcard then or shop elsewhere! It's not hard not to get the jail in a supermarket.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 27/09/2018 23:41

Yes, Sunset I read the Metro piece earlier and thought it a shame he couldn't even get his story straight in that. He said again "We’re not retailers, we’re not wholesalers, we just want them for our home" and yet in the very same article he's described as a retailer

And I just love the suggestion that the PC might have done the hurt to himself. I obviously don't know what the alleged injury was, but maybe he thought the officer had wandered over to give himself a bashing on a nearby wall ... you know, like anyone would
