to think our children will not forgive us if we don't sort Brexit out

DFiL voted Leave. He's not thick and he had his reasons but, to be frank, he's 80 and not going to have to live with the consequences long term. Especially, if the NHS don't manage to stockpile his multiple medications in the event of a No Deal.

AIBU to think we all need to kick up an almighty stink to ensure that our Government makes a deal that will protect our children's futures - even if that means remaining. Jacob Rees Mogg and his ERG buddies predict it could be 50 years for the UK to see the benefits of leaving the EU. That's too late for my DD.

Austerity has damaged enough lives, we can't let Brexit do more harm. It's no good shrugging and saying "Leave won". If this isn't sorted out there will be no winners.

I presume you are too young and naive to remember life before the Good Friday Agreement. Or just too arrogant.

Hazardswan · 20/09/2018 22:28

I'm not anti US I support our friends across the pond. They need to clean up the guns (which make there way to British streets via the ports). They have a Standardized American Diet (known as sad - literally) which has been proven to be the worse western diet in the world. People over there lose their houses when they sick and they have to pay...that's just so sad why would we want to be like that? Shouldn't they want to be like us?

CiderBrains · 20/09/2018 22:28

Yes and they cannot have it both ways; be apart of the U.K. and be at one with Southern Ireland. They are one or the other.

bellinisurge · 20/09/2018 22:28

Why is it a circular argument to say the majority in NI want to stay in the Uk?

KennDodd · 20/09/2018 22:28

I think our children won't forgive us if we don't bin Brexit. I hope they NEVER forgive the Tory party for doing this.

Ni can stay or go as it wished - but we will need a border with the eu

The gfa would have to be amended. It was thrashed out once, it would be thrashed out again

bellinisurge · 20/09/2018 22:29

@CiderBrains - there is no such place as Southern Ireland. Your ignorance is staggering.

10degreestostarboard · 20/09/2018 22:30

Kenndodd

The Labour Party is (officially at least) also committed to Brexit

Don’t they earn any of your ire?

bellinisurge · 20/09/2018 22:30

Have you any idea how hard it was to get GFA? Are you really so ignorant. You should be embarrassed.

10degreestostarboard · 20/09/2018 22:31

Bellinsurge

The high horse suits you don’t it?

Ireland is free to choose but if it stays with us it plays our rules

Clear for you?

CiderBrains · 20/09/2018 22:31

It sounds very anti US to me.

Fact is, our young people in particular, identity far more with the US than they do with mainland Europe. Aspects of the US have been creeping into the U.K. for years now, influencing our youth.

The gfa is an agreement

It is not made of magic unicorn hide

10degreestostarboard · 20/09/2018 22:32

Motherofdragons

... is a zealot - ignore it

bellinisurge · 20/09/2018 22:32

Ireland isn't with us. It's a different country. NI is part of the UK. Seriously, you are so ignorant about this.

CiderBrains · 20/09/2018 22:33

So what do you call the place geographically below Northern Ireland?

bellinisurge · 20/09/2018 22:34

@10degreestostarboard - how old are you? Don't you remember the Troubles? Don't you know why there is the DUP and Sinn Fein.

I meant ni - but you knew that

I am well aware of my geography - hence my valid assertion I am not a European citizen

bellinisurge · 20/09/2018 22:35

@CiderBrains - Ireland.
And if you look at a map it's not just below it.

bellinisurge · 20/09/2018 22:36

@10degreestostarboard - spend some time in a Unionist part of Belfast and call it Ireland. I dare you.

10degreestostarboard · 20/09/2018 22:36

Bellinsurge

Yes well aware thank you

Mother

I’m sorry I don’t share your views and I’m sorry that apparently troubles you.

10degreestostarboard · 20/09/2018 22:38

Bellinsurge

That’s the thing though isn’t it - s political settlement in ni was achieved through s combination of infiltration of the its and buying off the main protagonists.

For example - British soldiers can still be legally pursued but former ira murderers cannot

bellinisurge · 20/09/2018 22:39

@10degreestostarboard - I hope your naivety about NI is just a silly pose and part of your patter. Just like the "wto" thing.
Because otherwise it sounds like you know jack shit.

CiderBrains · 20/09/2018 22:39

What ever you want to call it, NI are either part of the UK or they are not. They can't be both, just like we can't cherry pick with the EU.
