To call the police about creepy car on street

Hi all,

Hoping there's someone up who can make me feel a little better. Basically for the last few nights a black Mercedes has been pulling up on the street with a direct view into my upstairs window (full length, curtains always open). Always after midnight. It sits there for around an hour sometimes more, sidelights on and no interior lights (occupants not even having phone screens on which light their faces...) but definitely people inside.

When this happened a few nights ago I saw the reflection of something pointed at my house as a car drove past - looks like a camera lens or similar. I called the police, they sent someone to drive by but they left without speaking to the car. 20 minutes ish later someone left the car, walked across the car park behind my house to another street. The car pulled off a little later.

I assumed it was a couples liaison or something and that I was imagining the lens reflection. It's been here for the last couple nights but I ignored it. Tonight I saw the reflection of something again and watched the drivers side occupant scratch their face clearly holding something and body positioned towards my house. Called police again and shut my curtains. Around 5 minutes later the car pulled away.

Am I being paranoid, or am I being watched?! Sitting here telling myself both things alternately. I live alone with my 3 year old daughter for context.

Hoping you get a resolution tonight OP!

TulipsInBloom1 · 21/09/2018 23:15

Gosh it all sounds a bit sinister once they still parked in that spot even after you had moved your car.

Glad the police are on it.

lexi727 · 21/09/2018 23:19

Hope you're okay OP! Keep us updated. Stay safe xx

yellowspottedwellies · 21/09/2018 23:19

Crunchymum · 21/09/2018 23:23

Blimey OP, are you alone?

dontbesillyhenry · 21/09/2018 23:25

Reading this freaked out and my son just randomly screamed out! My heart is in my mouth! Here with you in spirit OP

LoveAGoodChat · 21/09/2018 23:27

Op can you or your friend, or even your burly neighbour just before midnight (or the time they arrive) park your/their car temporarily across the car park entrance to block it, just to see what they will do..and to see if they still try and watch your house...then after they drive off, you/your friend/your neighbour can park your /their car in the usual parking space

Coveting, I have in fact drawn you all a terrible map of the locations in questions. I'm 99% sure it will shed no light, as I am CRAP at drawing. But here.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 lovely diagram!

Perhaps crazy cat lady has a laser pointer you can use, and pretend to be a sniper when creepy car comes back!

HelloSnow · 21/09/2018 23:48

Love crazy cat lady 😂

Elliss2018 · 21/09/2018 23:51

How scary op! Hope it doesn't turn up tonight and you get a good sleep Thanks

LurkingWaspi · 21/09/2018 23:52

Looking in on you, hope that you are ok. Stay safe and don't go out if the car turns up. ( I hope that it doesn't)
I'm looking at the garages and alleyway in your diagram, could they be of interest to creepy car people?

SirVixofVixHall · 21/09/2018 23:52

Hope all is ok and the police get to the bottom of this op.

HeywitchDoctor · 21/09/2018 23:56

Ohb0llocks · 21/09/2018 23:57

Danceintherain2018 · 22/09/2018 00:00

Wonder if he'll turn up tonight. Are the curtains into your bedroom or just a landing/spare bedroom window?

BunsOfAnarchy · 22/09/2018 00:00

Checkin in OP. Hope all is well x

dontbesillyhenry · 22/09/2018 00:05

Are they here?

Ariela · 22/09/2018 00:06

Is the car back there yet? Just letting you know you're not alone!

Singingitoverandoverandover · 22/09/2018 00:09

Looking at your diagram I wonder if someone is finishing a late shift at a bar or something and being dropped off to
Walk through car park to alleyway/other street? Or a partner being dropped off that don’t live together.. or an affair in the happening and they live in next street so get dropped off at yours to walk through to other street at back of carpark... and think you have busted them so keep lights off but keep checking to see if YOU are watching??
( and in all these potential cases they chat for a very long time as they are amazing buddies/madly in love in the dark/dirty fuckers

LoveAGoodChat · 22/09/2018 00:11

Op are they back yet?...I feel on edge just following this thread, I don't know how the op is coping with the stress of this night after night...

Op you aren't alone, we are all here with you to keep you company...keep us updated so we know you are ok

sianais · 22/09/2018 00:14

Dancer, the direct view is into my computer room and sitting room - luckily not my room.

Singingit- yes I wondered that, but if it was colleague/partner it would be as close to the house as possible surely not another street's car park? Affair is more likely, although doesn't explain parking across car park last night rather than a car further down the road where they'll be definitely undisturbed.

No sign of car just yet, but last night was weirdly early- usually between 1 and 2am.

Could they see into any of the houses behind them? Using the rear view mirror and facing the wrong way to look less obvious.

sianais · 22/09/2018 00:26

Mip, the houses behind don't have any open windows to the street but if they're looking at comings and goings then yes in theory.
