To call the police about creepy car on street

Hi all,

Hoping there's someone up who can make me feel a little better. Basically for the last few nights a black Mercedes has been pulling up on the street with a direct view into my upstairs window (full length, curtains always open). Always after midnight. It sits there for around an hour sometimes more, sidelights on and no interior lights (occupants not even having phone screens on which light their faces...) but definitely people inside.

When this happened a few nights ago I saw the reflection of something pointed at my house as a car drove past - looks like a camera lens or similar. I called the police, they sent someone to drive by but they left without speaking to the car. 20 minutes ish later someone left the car, walked across the car park behind my house to another street. The car pulled off a little later.

I assumed it was a couples liaison or something and that I was imagining the lens reflection. It's been here for the last couple nights but I ignored it. Tonight I saw the reflection of something again and watched the drivers side occupant scratch their face clearly holding something and body positioned towards my house. Called police again and shut my curtains. Around 5 minutes later the car pulled away.

Am I being paranoid, or am I being watched?! Sitting here telling myself both things alternately. I live alone with my 3 year old daughter for context.

It makes sense that the partner of the carer might drive her to jobs in the small hours and wait in the car for her but I'm surprised that the police get their info from google when they are trying to identify someone

@sianais

I'm glad the police have checked things out for you and have given you some reassurance on the matter. I can only imagine how worried and scared you felt.

I would have probably been the same. Carers do work odd times, I know this as a fact as my mum used to do the graveyard shift. 10pm till 6am. But as you said, you never saw anyone get in or out of the car, that would have been a cause for concern to myself, was the carer actually doing her job?

Anyway glad your ok x

She's probably taking a break inbetween jobs in a place she feels safe. Maybe she will notice you spying on her soon and not park there any more.... just a thought

We are warned to be vigilant ALL the time. If an unfamiliar car parked on my road and the occupants remained sitting I. It for long periods of time before driving off again, I’d be concerned too.

I once phoned the local police station (when we had one!) as there was a car opposite our house with the engine running and a man sat inside the car. It was pitch black and he was there 40 odd minutes before i rang.I was worried he was maybe trying to gas himself or something. The police came out and he was sat in a drug fuelled dazeShock The police took him and his car away. I'm glad I phoned.

Can’t believe this thread is still limping along, sounds made up to me-calling the police over a car parked in the street when there’s no evidence that they are up to no good?! Seems like the OP couldn’t think of an exciting end to the story!
