Posting here for more traffic because I am feeling desperate.

I had a thread in Style & Beauty and got some good suggestions but haven't found the right thing yet.
I am short and barrelesque - my arms, legs, shoulders are reasonable but I am very big around the middle with 38FF boobs.
I'm going on my first sun holiday in years following what have been 2 fairly shit years.
I need at least one swimsuit.

I've looked everywhere I can think but I would like suggestions from similar size women who have actually worn the swimwear suggested.

So far I think this one ticks the most boxes but I don't have time to order and return.

Also, as it's a holiday I think I would like something a little less sensible .......... but I don't know what.
Please, please help.

I got a very nice Swimdress from Simply Bes Joe Browns range Smile

gendercritter · 16/09/2018 19:05

Fuller figure, fuller wardrobe on Facebook will have masses of ideas for you if people can't suggest much here

Travis1 · 16/09/2018 19:07

I wore bikini tops in my bra size 38gg and high waisted size 22 bottoms. No fucks given Grin

Needahairbrush · 16/09/2018 19:08

Im a similar size, but a different shape (pear), I had this, and it looked ok on

With your boob size you might need more support though?

HairyAntoinette · 16/09/2018 19:09

You need cups that are a 38FF ... Anything else will make you look like a saggy sack of spuds.

I've worn a swimsuit with that size cup by an Aussie brand - can't remember the name sorry. I've also liked Freya stuff.

Seeline · 16/09/2018 19:10

I wear tankinis. Debenhams do a range with proper bra sized tops which are great. I think it's called Beach Collection.

Pinkkahori · 16/09/2018 19:10

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Looked on Simple Be - the Joe Brown's stuff is pretty so I'll see what I can find in my size.

I want to give no fucks Travis1 but I'm not quite there. If I buy a bikini and wimp out I'll have nothing to wear.

Ditto Travis - zero fucks given and I looked fabulous 👍🏻

Pinkkahori · 16/09/2018 19:12

Yes, I agree it is cup size and preferably underwired I need but I'm so disproportionately large in the middle that I'm not sure a 38FF swimsuit will fit me in the middle.

Why, why did I leave it so late to look.

ektomarie · 16/09/2018 19:12

You need a built in underwire at that size. Total game changer. Fantasie do lovely swimsuits and matching coverups

Bombaybunty · 16/09/2018 19:13

I've got a couple of swimsuits from the Speedo Sculpture range.
Very good quality and not to frumpy.

ektomarie · 16/09/2018 19:14

My mum is of similar built and this one was very slimming on her.

eatingtomuch · 16/09/2018 19:14

I had tankini's from bravissimo and curvy Kate's

PassMeAGrip · 16/09/2018 19:16

i wore a (very) high waisted 50s style bikini. I am quite tall so swimsuits are never long enough for me, and tankinis show off my middle which I hate. I felt very secure and 'held in ' by the high waisted bottoms, and there was barely any flesh on show which I liked. (I made the most of the boobs though... they are my, er, best feature 😆)

ektomarie · 16/09/2018 19:16

control top one

scrunchSE18 · 16/09/2018 19:16

Hi I’m a similar shape and got one from SimplyBe from a company called BeSpoke. www.simplybe.co.uk/shop/bespoke-fit-swimsuit-voluptuous-fit/wq838/product/details/show.action?pdBoUid=7205&productType=Fitting#colour:Floral%20Print,size:
They come in different cup sizes. I’m a g and went for very voluptuous (!) and felt supported. Looks like they are in the sale too. There does seem to be a bit of a knack to getting them on though - don’t try to do this under a towel at the beach! Hope you have a good holiday :-)

Alabasterangel6 · 16/09/2018 19:17

I’m a 16-18 and a 36g. I’ve got two bikinis from Pour Moi and another by fantasie.

I always squirm before going about whether I should be buying something more ‘modest’ but when I get there (and I was on a beach this time last week) I remember that you see so many shapes and sizes and no one actually gives a shiny shit. So I wear my bikini (and my cake belly) without another thought. A good bikini top will lift you and provide support so that when you get up and put your bikini on under your clothes for breakfast/walking to the beach/pool it’ll give you the same support and feel as your bra.

Where I was had a number of nudists on the beach too - believe me, me with my ample
bosom was nothing whatsoever compared to some of the folks who took it all off and let it all hang out. Literally.

Swimsuits are sweaty and a pain in the loo.

Take a cotton beachy kaftan thing if you want some cover for strolling/beach bar-ing or to cover bits over exposed to sun.

Sparklesocks · 16/09/2018 19:18

I like the m and s one pieces, they gave me good support for my large bust

I got something similar to this, it was comfy and flattering.

NewUserNameTime · 16/09/2018 19:21

I got a swimming costume from Bravissimo. So few brands actually make swimwear to cupsize as opposed to clothes size. As I have big boobs I hate not feeling like my boobs are supported.

I only ever purchase underwear and swimwear from there. They do a decent range of bikinis, tankinis and swimming costumes. I usually wear bikinis and tankinis but this year wanted to be able to chase DC around the pool in an all in one!

Catmint · 16/09/2018 19:21

After spending years with not quite right things, I got an elomi swim bra & briefs and longer length tankini. Amazing. I also got it less than half price in the sale!

Having the swim bra meant that I was able to buy a cute polkadot swim dress for £7 off the seafront and it fits!!

Pinkkahori · 16/09/2018 19:25

Thanks everyone.

I've just seen the Elomi swim bra Catmint and I think it could be the answer to my prayers.

Where did you buy it? Is it true to size?

I think if I had my boobs suitably supported I wouldn't mind so much about my middle but it's depressing when the whole think is just one big splodge.

I'm 18/30 and got a gorgeous 2 piece from boohoo curve, it's pink with watermelons and I LOVE it!

I highly recommend boohoo curve for plus size everything. River island plus size is really good too, but honestly the best thing that happened was when I learned to love myself and embrace body confidence because I've always hated my body and hid away. Last year was the first time ever I wore a 2 piece and didn't cover up with some hideous baggy tshirt, it made such a difference to how I enjoyed the holiday with my DD

Catmint · 16/09/2018 19:29

Just checked OP, elomi is still on sale - I got mine from an online shop called Belle lingerie. I'd never heard of them before but delivery was v quick. Can't vouch for their returns policy etc.

Raven88 · 16/09/2018 19:29

I'm a 18-20 and I wear a one piece. I struggle to find bikinis I'm a 38b and a 18 on the bottom. I hold my weight in my middle. Next is good for one pieces. I got a black one last year that I love and simply be is good. I just got back from Cyprus and most people wore bikinis and everyone was different shapes and sizes. Maybe take a one piece and a bikini and see how you feel.
