I'm in bed. Feel wide awake, alternatively hot then cold. I've got leg cramps, greasy hair (wtaf), I feel really grumpy. Can't relax. I know ill wake up again in about 3 hours, drenched in sweat with restless legs. It's totally shit.

I recently started using cannabis again (vaporizing rather than smoking this time) my menopause symptoms are improved, sleeping is much better and my mood is better I don't feel anxious or depressed
I've considered this

Julia I've considered this too. I just don't know how to vape it! I bought cbd oil but it's very expensive and I didn't feel better. I'm not going to start rolling joints though...

JuliaJaynes9 · 18/09/2018 13:09

Seriously cannabis or medical marijuana if you want to use that phrase, has worked for me😁
straight to sleep
out like a light
if I do wake up I don't lie there feeling anxious I just sort of Drift and then go back to sleep
None of that horrible twitchy restless legs thing
if I don't sleep as long as normal I don't wake up feeling like death warmed up
everything is easier and better and I really look forward to my little session with Mary Jane in the evening but remember vapouriz don't smoke for the sake of your lungs 😉

Come on ladies let's all get stoned 🙂

thefirstmrsdewinter · 18/09/2018 13:13

SarfE4sticated yes, if you're still bleeding you're not menopausal. If you're bleeding heavily it may be a good idea to have iron tested and supplement if necessary. After the menopause iron can accumulate and may affect bone and heart health in older women.

Inflammation is a factor in lots of chronic illnesses
Oestrogen has an anti-inflammatory effect, so when it's reduced we get lots more inflammation
Cannabis has an anti-inflammatory effect everything is calmed and soothed

I start HRT in a few days (period due today-ish), but looked at natural herbs as well - can you take both? I thought it was one or the other?

Wink, 48, all the symptoms except joint pain.

ihatethecold · 18/09/2018 13:41

How do you vaporise cannabis if you are in the UK?

im seriously considering finding someone that sells hash and making brownies.

I need something for the stress

Miladymilord · 18/09/2018 14:25

My friend had a little pipe thing. I did have a few puffs when they came round over the summer. Slept like a log!

Has anyone experienced hair shedding? I'm currently experiencing a horrible bout of Telogen Effluivium.

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 18/09/2018 14:40

Hair shedding here....the Gtech struggles to cope with me and the very hairy dog. The worst thing for me is joint aches and pains. I feel like an old woman.

I get terrible aches and pains when I wake up ... yoga helps with the general aches and pains. But this is I'm sure menopause related - neck and arms like I've been tensing all night.

But the HRT helped with the night sweats ...

Sweetpea55 · 18/09/2018 14:52

The itching is awful,,mostly at night,,, My time in bed goes like this....

Legs in..
Legs out..
Duvet off..
Duvet back on,,
Legs out again,,
Duvet down to my knees.
Get out,run to the back door open it and stand there in the dark,,stark naked.

Glare at DH in the pitch dark because he is recumbent in unsweaty blissful sleep..

All the above interspersed by scratching and weeing.

For those of you hair shedding, can you pinpoint what it is? Are you on HRT? if so, what sort? When did it start happening?

JuliaJaynes9 · 18/09/2018 16:32

How do you vaporise cannabis if you are in the UK?
you obtain a device for vaporising and you obtain some cannabis..ie grow it, buy from the dark web or buy from a local dealer

JuliaJaynes9 · 18/09/2018 16:34

there are others but here's a couple

Delatron · 18/09/2018 16:41

Do you wake feeling fefreshed after the vaping?

I too spend all night scratching, weeing and glaring at slumbering DH.

JuliaJaynes9 · 18/09/2018 16:45

Yes I feel much happier in the mornings now that I've gone back to my old habit of getting stoned every night

theendofeverything · 18/09/2018 16:50

Very stupid question for those on HRT - does taking it mean you get periods again?

Itsmeaga1n · 18/09/2018 16:55

I wouldn't know where to buy cannabis. No connections and I don't know anyone locally.

theendofeverything · 18/09/2018 16:57

Oh and my symptoms are:

Joint and muscle pain
Insomnia
Bloating
Extreme grumpiness
Forgetting words
