Parents doing all this in after swim class showers?

Whirlwindheadache · 13/09/2018 20:56

OK,today after ds swim class the showers were crammed. As usual. Tbh I usually wait til we get home and do a proper shower/ bath. however today I thought I'd quickly shower him to save me doing it later. There were children in there with parents stood outside loaded with shampoos...conditioners ( telling them to leave it on at least 2minutes) body washes...rinsing and generally taking their time despite huge queues of dripping children and parents waiting for their turn..

This thread is batshit.

Ive been called rabidly offensively insane Grin

Im off to ring my nice therapist. There are some around.

After work of course. Another hobby of mine that takes up 40 hours.

Disclaimer - I am on my lunch break. Im not MN in work time.

TheWinterofOurDiscountTentsMk2 · 14/09/2018 13:03

Yes, you were. Because you said Thick as shit, ignorant bastards.Tight as arseholes as well, they should use their own hot water at home.Actually they should just stay at home

which was rabidly offensive and pretty insane.

SuckOnTHATRyan · 14/09/2018 13:11

Yikes easy. You wrote this^^ one? I won’t call you insane or anything, but yeah, maybe calming down a little / anger management might be an idea.

It’s weird how angry this makes people. Just skip the shower and go home. I find queuing for the showers inconvenient too but I manage not to get into a rage about it and start calling people filthy names. I just skip if I don’t want to queue or queue if I don’t want to skip. Beyond that I can’t get worked up about someone having different shower habits to mine. Before anyone says “why comment on the thread then?”, I commented because of the op’s nasty posts. They were way more interesting / remarkable than someone using the shower for longer than I’d like.

TheWinterofOurDiscountTentsMk2 · 14/09/2018 13:13

yes she did, and then complains that the thread is batshit: from the batshittiest person on it!!

Alpacanorange · 14/09/2018 13:14

Yabu. The dc are standing in the shower and you think they should go home and wash again to speed things up. I think you need to speed up with getting to the showers first.

thecatsthecats · 14/09/2018 13:17

I'm lucky enough to live a 2m drive from my pool. I loathe arsing MYSELF around so much (not to mention lugging all my shower paraphenalia around) that I rinse straight out of the pool, drive home, and do it properly there.

Boomyboom · 14/09/2018 13:23

Confused... Easynow said batshit but they weren't the OP were they? Have I missed something? Confused

SuckOnTHATRyan · 14/09/2018 13:26

That’s right boom; Easynow said the thread was batshit and she is also not the op.

SuckOnTHATRyan · 14/09/2018 13:27

What is it you think you’re missing boom?

GerdaLovesLili · 14/09/2018 13:32

YANBU. Public/school pool showers are for a utilitarian rinse-off of chlorinated water with no product involved. Go home and pamper yourself afterwards. Don't make every one else wait in a miserable shivering queue.

If you're paying a large sum of money for a fancy gym with plenty of showers then do what you like. But municipal, shared facilities are not the place for entitled shenanigans.

Boomyboom · 14/09/2018 13:32

Oh I give up sorry. Thought easy was the OP after the last comment by suckonthatryan. Nevermind...think this thread has got a little twisted about now.. Needs unravelling.

SuckOnTHATRyan · 14/09/2018 13:33

No I don’t think she’s the op boom, just someone else who takes a very dim view of shower hogging and seems to be a little (a lot?) angry about it!

SuckOnTHATRyan · 14/09/2018 13:36

Oh I see what you mean boom!

You mean this in my post up thread;

Before anyone says “why comment on the thread then?”, I commented because of the op’s nasty posts. They were way more interesting / remarkable than someone using the shower for longer than I’d like.

I was referring to a personal attack the op made to another poster earlier on. It’s now been deleted so you can’t see it.

TheWinterofOurDiscountTentsMk2 · 14/09/2018 13:43

Public/school pool showers are for a utilitarian rinse-off of chlorinated water with no product involved

You may think that, many disagree. Showers in swimming pool changing rooms are for showering, and showering means washing yourself and your hair. This is normal practice.
If you think daring to use shampoo in a shower is entitled shenanigans you have been on MN far too long and need to reenter the real world. You'll laugh at yourself once you do, I'm sure"

Boomyboom · 14/09/2018 13:43

Oh OK! I can't read it then now to get a clearer picture. Missed that one

Boomyboom · 14/09/2018 13:45

I think a lot is going to be deleted on here. But I'm new to it all so this really shocks me. Sheltered life and all that I think Grin

BastardGoDarkly · 14/09/2018 13:45

Over invested much Ryan ?! Confused

SuckOnTHATRyan · 14/09/2018 13:49

Grin Somewhat bastard. Aren’t we all though or we wouldn’t be commenting?!

My dh & dc1 have gone on a lovely day trip without the baby and me, so it’s a rather slow day here.

At least I haven’t gone over the edge and personally attacked anyone, so hey ho.

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 14/09/2018 14:05

Always shower mine properly I'm not getting home to rush dinner, bedtime AND bath! That seems crazy! If kids are shivering waiting I'm guessing they don't have a towel? Why?

Boomyboom · 14/09/2018 14:20

I usually read the OP as further down the line words and phrases get added..don't think the children waiting were shivering, well I doubt it in the changing rooms but as for the towel I personally wouldn't put a fresh towel onto chlorinated skin/ hair whilst waiting then use it after washing? Why take two towels to shower when you can just take one..?

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 14/09/2018 14:31

Precisely because it's preferable to my children standing shivering Hmm

Mamia17 · 14/09/2018 14:31

Well I'm going to be sooooo considerate next time I (IF I) ever use showers at the baths...

Chwaraeteg · 14/09/2018 15:41

@theymademejoin

Sorry, it's just that I once got really bad acne on my bum from doing this. Once I started washing my body after rinsing my hair it went away. Clearly not the general phenomenon I thought it was - just me Confused

LemonBreeland · 14/09/2018 15:44

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup you are just the kind of inconsiderate and selfish person who the OP and others are talking about. You don't care about anyone else as long as your DC are okay.

As for why don't they have a towel, do you expect me to wrap a towel around my DC, then shower them and dry them with the already wet towel? I can't wait for my DC to be old enough for swimming lessons to end and it is purely because of people like you and others on this thread with the same attitude.
