Dd has come home from reception today and has made a new best friend called “Whiskers”.
“Whiskers” is definitely a girl and she has yellow hair.
I did ask if she was tabby but apparently not!!!
According to DD “Whiskers” is 100% her name.
Please help me decipher what it could be, as I can’t ask her what games she has played with “Whiskers” today whilst keeping a straight face.

I've been laughing my head off at these!

I remember accidentally calling one of my nursery friend's either "Gobby" or "Goddy" - can't remember which, but it was actually Robbie! Three-year-old me didn't realise either way!

Yes OP ! Agony turned out to be Ebony. I was thinking Agatha or agnes but it took a school disco to hear someone shouting for Ebony for DD to say that was her new friend.
You're much better than me at this game

I love these! My DD was convinced her school friend was called Enemy. It was definitely Emily!

DS came home from nursery telling us about his friend called Jelly. We thought it was maybe Jenny or Gilly or Jessy. Turns out it is Genevieve with the nickname Jelly, she's a lovely little girl.

He has form for mis-hearing though. He thinks the nursery rhyme goes 'London Bridge is falling down, watch out lady'.

My brother (when he was in reception) insisted that he needed tinsel to take to school. In those days they didn’t have Christmas stuff available in September but he insisted. Mum traipsed all over town and eventually found some and he took it to school very pleased. Turned out the teacher had asked him to bring some plimsolls in for PE.

My daughter (2 at the time) kept saying she has 2 friends, one called xyz and the other donkey! I still haven’t been able to figure out who is ‘donkey’ a year on.

In kindergarten my dd came home talking about her favorite new friend "Mars". I said sweetie, I don't think her name is probably mars, that's a planet. It's probably Marcia, or something. She insisted, and I declined to argue.

At parent night she introduced me to her friend's parents, who in turn introduced me to their daughter, who really was called Mars. That was me told!
