Just that really

Can I butt in as a fellow Angels hater?

JL was quite unassuming and humble when singing Imagine. He layed off the old croner, karoke warbling, hitting the power notes act, that RW is so fond of.

JL singing Imagine is the polar opposite of RW singing Angels.

GabsAlot · 09/09/2018 12:51

hes writing with guy chambers again for the last album

ZanyMobster · 09/09/2018 12:53

I adored RW in Take That, he was lots of fun and I liked him in interviews as he was a bit quirky and funny. After he left Take That I met him and he was pretty vile to everyone, so up himself which is a shame as he is only where he is due to fans liking him, his voice is average at best and he doesn't write. The Flood tour that he joined was by far the worst show they did. RW was like a spoilt child demanding the most attention. I loved how the other members let him get on with it, a bit tongue in cheek.

Does anyone remember the documentary before TT got back together, RW nowhere to be seen but they did an aerial shot of GB's house and it was bloody massive. He has been a very prolific songwriter even after Take That and had a great career, as for no on stage personality, that's a joke. He is not like RW who is purely an entertainer (and brilliant at that of course) but has a brilliant voice and interacts fantastically with the crowd. I love GB anyway but was massively surprised at how he held a crowd as a solo artist, just proved to me why Take That worked as a 5 a 4 and a 3. It is all about him and not RW as I am sure people used to think, his voice is so much better live than I imagined.

I can live with him on x-factor, everyone knows he's a bit of a knob, including himself and his wife I reckon. He is what he is. I also read that the video of her giving birth was all planned by her also as a bit of a laugh. People can be so nasty, we can't all like everyone, if someone isn't OTT then apparently they are boring like Louie. Seriously, give them a break.

Sarahandduck18 · 09/09/2018 12:59

He’s like that chav who won the lottery and blew it and went bankrupt.

I wonder how much of his £80m contract he still has left.

Intelligence was never his forte.

StorminaBcup · 09/09/2018 13:11

MissHavershamssis - yep agree, an undiagnosed MH condition would give rise to some odd behaviour. However RW has been diagnosed and I still think he's a tit.

In fact the more I read this thread the more I realise that I feel uncomfortable watching him because he doesn't appear comfortable. It all seems a bit try-hard. I actually feel pretty sorry for him that he feels like he needs to put himself through performing because he needs that level of approval. Bit like Gazza. Now that he's not a footballer he's got no sense of who he is.

MorningsEleven · 09/09/2018 13:38

At least "The Cheeky Girls" knew their song was shit, and had the good grace not to take themselves seriously

I saw the Cheeky Girls performing this year at Pride. They were fabulous in every way!

ArsenalsPlayingAtHome · 09/09/2018 14:06

MorningsEleven Grin

Brilliant - didn't know they were still going!

I'd much rather watch the Cheeky Girls live than RW!

Infact, I'd much rather watch the Cheeky Girls as judges on The X Factor than Mr & Mrs Williams (sorry, don't know his wife's name.)

TimeForDinnerDinnerDinner · 09/09/2018 14:09

YANBU
This is the first year I've not followed x factor. Coincidence? I think not.

Icantbelieveitsnotnutter · 09/09/2018 14:09

He belongs in Benidorm.

sanssherif · 09/09/2018 14:13

Sarahandduck
Spot on

Eminybob · 09/09/2018 14:20

I’ve swung from loving him in the 90’s/00’s to hating him recently, but he’s growing on me on the X factor. When he got up on stage to sing with that guy on last weeks episode I cringed, but actually he sang really well and sounded fab (whereas every other time I’ve heard him sing live recently he’s been awful)

pictish · 09/09/2018 14:20

Or Blackpool. He belongs in a spangly tuxedo wherever he is.

SpookyMuldersMum · 09/09/2018 15:02

Was always rather indifferent to RW but finding him quite annoying on the X factor. All the canoodling with his wife is rather tedious.

sweethope · 09/09/2018 16:49

How bloody easy it is for some people to earn money. When you think of the struggle to survive that so many have, RW and his wife getting 10 million literally to sit on their arses and be entertained.....bloody obscene. If it was me i’d be too embarrassed to keep that much, especially when already rich.

Gottagetmoving · 09/09/2018 17:13

His concerts were brilliant. He irritates me sometimes but....his concerts were brilliant!

ArsenalsPlayingAtHome · 09/09/2018 17:34

10 million....pounds?

NoelEdmondsbeard · 09/09/2018 17:51

My opinion of RW was shaped by a show he appeared in the 1990s. He was going through the rebellious blonde hair dyed phase and was generally being an arse.

But harmless

Frequency · 09/09/2018 18:23

My sister used to live on the street as him in Hampstead. She 'met him in passing' a few times. She said he came across just as normal bloke. He recognised her as a neighbour and would nod hello when they passed.

He offered her a drink in their local and flirted with her bit but backed off when her boyfriend turned up. She said he was a bit pissed and 'laddish' but good natured and funny.

I think his 'persona' is just that. An act he carries out on stage.

NoelEdmondsbeard · 09/09/2018 18:31

Sorry posted too early...

I remember on the show there was a shy teen girl who appeared was very nervous. She was asked her name, she replied "Debbie". Robbie asked "Have you been to Dallas?". It was a cruel remark to make, comparing a shy nervous teen to a porn star and this was at the time he was up the bum of Liam Gallagher. Why pick on a shy teen whilst worshiping the likes of Oasis.

His propensity for being cruel still exists and in various appearances I think he does cross the line of cheeky lad to cruel piss taker .

ArsenalsPlayingAtHome · 09/09/2018 18:39

Was he up the bum of Liam Gallagher?

I thought they hated each other!

That was a horrible thing to say, NoelEdmondsbeard.Angry

Poor girl - imagine how she must have felt when she found out what that meant. And her parents must have been mortified.

sweethope · 09/09/2018 19:34

Arsenals yes 10 million pounds, crazy isn’t it. Shock

ArsenalsPlayingAtHome · 09/09/2018 19:37

I'm dumbstruck!

MorningsEleven · 09/09/2018 20:04

Infact, I'd much rather watch the Cheeky Girls as judges on The X Factor than Mr & Mrs Williams

That's genius!
