It just seems unnecessary when they are just upsetting theirselves and spoiling it for other people.
I’m talking
“What’s your favourite treat food from the shops”
“Nothing. I live in a wooden crab infested shack and only eat mouldy dog food and sprouts”
Or
“What funny/silly nonsense did your family do with you as a child”
“Well they string me up and beat me with birches, I don’t know if that counts”
I understand hard lives, and it’s not been a picnic personally but I (and I assume others) read cheerful threads as nice escapism and happy memories and these posters are upsetting their selves and others

@RibbonAurora

I meant to type 'trifles' - but not everybody has the luxury of freedom from obesity; so on balance, your assessment of me is condign. How COULD I?

Zoflorabore · 04/09/2018 10:06

Yes- handhold needed thank you Grin

Whilst eagerly awaiting the delivery of my favourite EVER zoflora, winter morning, stalking the cleaning aisles of every supermarket in the North West...

Like I said, I've not got much of a problem.

Pissedoffdotcom · 04/09/2018 10:11

Zoflora is the goddess of cleaning. If you do not use it are you a heathen?? How do you get everything clean?!

GoatWithACoat · 04/09/2018 10:18

Update For anyone still using applicator tampons, apparently we don't need to if we own a nailbrush now

Hmm I don’t even want to know.

DioneTheDiabolist · 04/09/2018 10:20

Applicators are like training wheels?
Yes, they stop you from toppling off the toilet when you have your period.

PhilomenaButterfly · 04/09/2018 10:47

😂

GoatWithACoat · 04/09/2018 11:01

Is this another trans thread? Hmm

Grin
LeighaJ · 04/09/2018 11:43

Last night I noticed killjoys trying to merail the "Intentionally annoying your OH" thread, but luckily they were ignored.

Bless their 2 sizes too small hearts. Biscuit

MarthasGinYard · 04/09/2018 11:49

I saw that one too

Lilyhatesjaz · 04/09/2018 11:59

The menopause is the best thing ever for saving on your heating bills

StripySocksAndDocs · 04/09/2018 12:08

I freaking love winding my husband up (and he me). Are we not supposed to?

@Pamdoo: Update For anyone still using applicator tampons, apparently we don't need to if we own a nailbrush now. should i ask?

@PhilomenaButterfly: Applicators are like training wheels? I thought they were to stop you TMI WARNING getting blood on your fingers! Can't believe you actually bled blood with your period. How unhygenic!! (Though in all seriousness if we are supposed to use non applicator tampons and washing period blood down a sink is Wrong, how do the two tally?)

PhilomenaButterfly · 04/09/2018 12:13

Good point. Confused

PhilomenaButterfly · 04/09/2018 12:14

And I'm very sorry. Must try harder. Blush

pigsDOfly · 04/09/2018 13:05

I should have started a heating thread a couple of weeks ago in the middle of August when it got so cold in my house I put my heating on two nights running.

Thought it better not to start such a thread as I didn't want to risk the collective exploding of the heads of those MNers who claim that they set their heating thermostat at 15 degrees only once it starts to snow heavily and turn it off completely once Christmas has come and gone.

Every single bloody year there's a 'lowest thermostat setting' competition on MN. Apparently anything over 18 degrees - at which point my heating doesn't even kick in - is willful overheating.

Willow2017 · 04/09/2018 13:14

I had my heating on this morning for a while!
I am obviously a faure as a human being. it was bloody cold

I am waiting for the Halloween threads to start...
(There is one already but so far its positive...just waiting for the "its the devils work, conjuring evil spirits, its sending children out begging, its a usa import we have never had Halloween in this country before" etc etc. Educate yourselves ffs! Grrrrr)

Willow2017 · 04/09/2018 13:21

😁😁😁😁
Spoke too soon...bingo!

Gardai · 04/09/2018 13:29

I delved into the mumsnet early classic threads and one thing that was really refreshing was the lack of the judgy fuckers, It seems like a new thing.

I put my heating in this morning
My child had white toast
I had a a fag

Burn me !

Gardai · 04/09/2018 13:33

And god forbid any poor poster who says can someone please help me with my diet.
Cue "tell us exactly what you eat it in a day"
Then hell breaks loose...

WHAT you eat cereal for breakfast!! My god, you're killing yourself, I have a teaspoon of organic grains and my goat makes her own organic yoghurt.

StripySocksAndDocs · 04/09/2018 13:33

Burn you with heating, white toast or a fag? I feel this is an important choice, they would produce a variety of burns.

White toast with butter is food of the gods (homemade bread and homemade butter, natch)

Pissedoffdotcom · 04/09/2018 13:37

Wtf is this heating debacle?! We've had our heating on for the past week...it's fecking cold at bed time!!

Gettingbackonmyfeet · 04/09/2018 13:40

I chuckled earlier when I saw the first (well first I've seen) Christmas has become commercialised thread

Commercialised...of course it's become commercialised who the hell thinks that businesses weren't going to take that opportunity

But I was killing myself laughing because the ability to get offended at chocolate in an advent calender is stupendous

Clearly my DC will only be allowed to count stars in the sky on the lead up to Christmas anything else is clearly profligacy and will kill the environment ,steal our souls and end society as we know it Grin

(If I didn't produce chocolate advent calender even the 2 year old would shank me while DP and ds1 covered up for him...plus I get to order a beauty one for me Grin)

Pissedoffdotcom · 04/09/2018 14:30

In stitches round asda over the 2 year old shanking you, sorry 😂

Gettingbackonmyfeet · 04/09/2018 14:34

Grin he is small bit he is mighty Grin

LeighaJ · 04/09/2018 14:41

@Gettingbackonmyfeet

I hope your children realize how lucky they are to have actual stars to count. Also that they know reducing their carbon footprint is all the joy they need to experience the true spirit of Christmas.

Willow2017 · 04/09/2018 15:06

STARS!!!
We couldn't see the stars from inside our coal bunker there were no windows. And we couldn't have a fire or candle for obvious reasons. We could only count the whites of each others eyes and pretend they were stars.
And guess what we got for Xmas?
