Is it just me that's thinking of the Abbey Girls series with Rosamund having all those twins with matchy names - iirc Rosanna, Rosilda, Rosabel, Rosalin?

shumway · 31/08/2018 14:13

Siblings Donald and Donna. And Ella and Orla. And Emma and Emme.

MimsyBorogroves · 31/08/2018 14:14

There's a sibling pair called Sam and Ella at DS's school too.

amusedbush · 31/08/2018 14:14

My cousin (the fourth in a line of John MiddleName Surname) called his kids John and Jack. We get it, you all like the name John! HmmGrin

KnotsInMay · 31/08/2018 14:14

And how many people in the school currently have this info? In the holidays?

Namchange or not OP it might not take a lot to identify you.

Can’t be a common set of twin names to be starting a school.

I bet a high ratio of Mums of twins use MN because of the extra advice support needed.

Bet you've made someone feel a whole lot better about her Dc starting school Hmm

Bad form.

Rebecca36 · 31/08/2018 14:14

Ridiculous. Twins need to be brought up as independent beings, siblings like any other siblings. Not in same clothes and not given similar names. Makes me think of Pinky and Perky.

MitchDash · 31/08/2018 14:15

My ex husband and his twin have first names that are anagrams of each others. So same initial, same surname and birth date and place.

When my ex husband was trying to get DBS clearance for a job his brothers assault conviction came up as his. It was near impossible to unravel and he didn't get the job.

Plan ahead.

Love Goodness and Goodnews Smile

I know a family named:

Dad = Benedict
Son 1 = Benedict
Son 2 = Benjamin
Son 3 = Benjie

Bananamanfan · 31/08/2018 14:15

I know a brother & sister called the equivalent of Thor & Thora.

butterflysugarbaby · 31/08/2018 14:16

@GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat

The Slater sisters were....

Lynne
Belinda
Kathleen
Maureen

YES THAT WAS IT!

So assuming LYNNE was short for Lynda (as it is with every Lynne I have ever known,) that is Belinda and Lynda! Confused

StealthPolarBear · 31/08/2018 14:16

I think I've you've given birth to triplets all else is forgiven

Malbecfan · 31/08/2018 14:18

Went to school with the female twin, Oscarina. It was shortened to Oscie. Her twin was Oscar.

I taught a girl many many years ago whose older brother was called Stephen. Her mum gave birth to child number 6 and he was also called Stephen but they had different surnames "cos they are called after their Dads, Miss."

Bestseller · 31/08/2018 14:19

I know three Patrick Fitzpatricks Thomas. That kinds of thing seems to be almost the norm in Celtic families

SeamstressfromTreacleMineRoad · 31/08/2018 14:20

I used to know a June, who had three sisters - Jean, Joan and Jane Shock

Loonoon · 31/08/2018 14:20

My DH has an Uncle Christopher and Auntie Christine, His Dad was Patrick and has a sister Patricia, they have other siblings called Joseph and Josephine and also Nicholas and Nicola. Some people just aren’t very imaginative I guess to be fair to the mum, she had 13 children that lived beyond childbirth so you can’t blame her for running out of ideas.

lalalalyra · 31/08/2018 14:20

I always expect to end up on one of these threads being slated by someone who doesn't realise that DS1 is my Dss because he and my DD1 have very very similar names (think Alexander and Alexandra) and people think it was a deliberate choice if they don't realise.

WhyOhWine · 31/08/2018 14:21

I know twins Hailey and Holly. Their mum says she honestly did not think of them as very similar names when she named them

YouTheCat · 31/08/2018 14:23

I know several sets of siblings that all have names derived from 'William'. It is weird and shows a total lack of creativity! Grin

villainousbroodmare · 31/08/2018 14:24

I heard a mother calling her kids Kevin and Caoimhe, which is the masculine and feminine of the same name (Caoimhín is Kevin).

fleshmarketclose · 31/08/2018 14:25

My ds went to school with twins called Caroline and Carolyn. Their dm said she couldn't think of another name she liked so distinguished between them with the end consonant being either ine or in.

lalalalyra · 31/08/2018 14:25

Also in years gone by siblings had similar names as they were called after people in a set pattern.

My Gran's sisters were Jean and Jane as they were named after their grandmother's in the traditional order.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 31/08/2018 14:25

Girl locally had Gemma and Emma.

Beingginger · 31/08/2018 14:27

Very outing but My mum and her brother are Wilma and William Hmm

fleshmarketclose · 31/08/2018 14:27

Our neighbour's two youngest are called Jack and Jake which I find bizarre.

strawbery · 31/08/2018 14:29

My twins are Zac and Joe and sometimes I wish I gave them more 'matchy' names, but after reading this thread I'm glad I didn't 😂
