NC (name changed as I don't want this to be outing)

A rhythmless man at church has said he wants to put on a concert to raise some money for shoeless orphans. We shall call him A.

A said to B that they have money to help. B said that the last concert raised some issues but would support them none the less.

C said she didn't want to be forgotten.

Who is BU?

I think the orphans have given up and gone to Clarkes.

CircleofWillis · 28/08/2018 21:00

I think I've got it. So B is the vicar, A is the vicar's rhythmless husband, C is the organist and you are the person in charge of the church flowers (and the wine). You blend into the background and so can hear all the conversations and arguments without being noticed. No wonder C doesn't want to be forgotten. She was left in the organist's pulpit for three days after the last concert with nothing but a stranded African drummer to keep her company. I think the vicar had better order some more wine for Sunday's service. Something tells me the supplies have been seriously depleted today.

I've got some shoes i could donate, or a bottle for the raffle?

Whaaaatthe · 28/08/2018 21:03

@MNHQ please move this to Classics. It’s the best thread I’ve read in ages Grin

LeighaJ · 28/08/2018 21:04

At my church members of the congregation donated items like homemade goodies or services like if they had a business (hairdresser, pest control etc,) or homemade hampers then held a silent auction for the donated items.

Oddcat · 28/08/2018 21:06

Leigh - pest control ???? Are you trying to get rid of our bats ?

Hepzibar · 28/08/2018 21:07

Been on MN for years and this is the first time I've actually laughed.

I only smiled at 'He ate the fucking fatball'.

But seriously OP I think this is a safeguarding situation, have A B&C been DBS checked? I'm concerned about the orphans.

PhilomenaButterfly · 28/08/2018 21:07

Nooooo! Save Our Bats!

Whaaaatthe · 28/08/2018 21:09

If I ever open a nightclub I’m calling it “The Rhythmless Man”

nowayishere · 28/08/2018 21:10

We don't actually get to meet the orphans. I think it's nice to want to help people.
There are no bat's in our church. It's not that old.

Is the OP B and is this about her husband embarrassing himself?

Oddcat · 28/08/2018 21:12

No bats ??? But C was so looking forward to being on bat poo duty - no wonder she feels left out poor woman.

nowayishere · 28/08/2018 21:13

My dh doesn't go to church.
A has a good heart but will often get ahead of himself in terms of ideas.

I feel like we need to do a kickstarter for new orphans, they all ran away with my shoes Sad

notangelinajolie · 28/08/2018 21:13

Eh?

nowayishere · 28/08/2018 21:14

@oddcat. This isn't buffy.

Eh isn't involved, I don't think, only A,B,C, some orphans and a bat

GoldilocksAndTheThreePears · 28/08/2018 21:15

Is Buffy C?

Oddcat · 28/08/2018 21:16

Goldilocks if you think we're going to do crowdfunding to replace your stolen shoes , you've got another think coming . Can't you see we've got enough on our plates ?

Elephant14 · 28/08/2018 21:16

Was A T-rexing? This gets my goat.
