Pictures of Liam Gallagher doing 'a Saatchi' to his girlfriend. Liam says be didn't. Girlfriend says he didn't. Photo unmistakably says he did. Why do we women collude with our oppressors in this way?

OP posts:
honeysucklejasmine · 26/08/2018 09:45

Why do men abuse their partners, you mean?

AlwaysPottering · 26/08/2018 09:45

It’s one shot. She could have just asked, hey do you think my glands feel swollen?
Wouldn’t believe anything printed in a tabloid

MissusGeneHunt · 26/08/2018 09:49

Have you got a link OP? Photographic 'journalism' can lie just as much as humans can... Not saying you're wrong, just need to see the 'evidence'...

TheFaerieQueene · 26/08/2018 09:49

Why are you accusing the woman of collusion regather than calling out the man for his violence?

Have you also not considered how the vulnerable person in this relationship might not have any choice but to deny the attack?

WhatFreshHellisCis · 26/08/2018 09:50

@alwayspottering there is a video online now... it wasn’t a gland check 🙄

MemoriesOfAnotherFuture · 26/08/2018 09:50

AlwaysPottering There’s a video from CCTV

Piffle11 · 26/08/2018 09:52

I'm in no way condoning violent behaviour, but that video of Gallagher and his GF: it just doesn't look like a violent fight to me.

SleepFreeZone · 26/08/2018 09:52

The video is on the MailOnline and I clicked on it about five times and still can’t really make it out.

My instinct is that they both like a drink (and possibly other things) and have a relationship where physical altercations have become normal.

MissusGeneHunt · 26/08/2018 09:59

Doesn't look great on the face of it but without context, sound, and picture clarity it's hard to tell for sure.

lowtide · 26/08/2018 10:05

It does look a bit ambiguous
But I do agree with what @SleepFreeZone says.
I’ve known plenty of couples like that. It’s pretty toxic

Looks like they've def had a row

longwayoff · 26/08/2018 10:09

No honeysuckle, thats not what I mean otherwise I would have said that.

OP posts:
keefthebeef · 26/08/2018 10:22

I think she’s trying to pacify him in the video. She knows it’s coming and dodges it so I think he’s done it before. I hope she leaves now this is in the public eye. Battered women are so vulnerable, look at the size of him.

Mary1935 · 26/08/2018 10:24

Yes I think sleep free has it. He always looks so angry too - I know it maybe an image he likes to portray - he’s a tosser - I much prefer Noel!!!

Artichoke18 · 26/08/2018 10:24

I would suspect that in a relationship were violent behaviour is normal between the couple it's still going to be the woman who is at most risk of serious injury.

Neshoma · 26/08/2018 10:25

I hope she leaves now

She won't. She's bagged an A lister. Debbie who??

VioletCharlotte · 26/08/2018 10:30

Liam Gallagher is, and always has been, a complete arsehole. It would be no surprise to me whatsoever to heat that he abuses women.

longwayoff · 26/08/2018 10:32

faeriequeen, not an accusation. An observation.

OP posts:
longwayoff · 26/08/2018 10:35

I read recently that Noel G described his brother as 'a man with a fork in a world of soup'. Seems spot on.

OP posts:
lowtide · 26/08/2018 10:37

Great quote !

mosessupposes · 26/08/2018 10:39

The whole OP is weird. "Why do we women...?" Don't include all women! Why aren't you asking questions about men?

Willow2017 · 26/08/2018 10:43

Well in the "i am a god personified and the rest of you are shit on my shoe" catagory both brothers have always been in the top ten of the list for years.

Dv? No big surprise. And there really is no mistaking his intent on the video.

Unfortunately i am also no longer surprised that a woman would put up with it for the apparent kudos of bagging a 'celebrity' no matter how big a wanker they were.
Very sad i really hope she tells him to fottfsof.

TatianaLarina · 26/08/2018 10:46

I don’t know what’s ‘ambiguous’ about that.

He’s clearly done it before too, you can see she’s used to it. She doesn’t look at all shocked.

Sommelierrrr · 26/08/2018 10:47

The video made me want to cry. She's obviously drunk, frightened and shaken.

What a violent, abusive arsehole.

Why is any one here either blaming the woman or saying that this assault looks like they are both involved? It's a one way violent attack.

Sommelierrrr · 26/08/2018 10:49

What women will put up with to be in a relationship with an a lister?? Are you fucking kidding me?? Women stay with abusive losers all the time because they have been broken down and conditioned to expect abuse. Has reading Mumsnet taught you nothing about the dynamics of domestic abuse???
