Don't get me wrong she seems like a lovely lady and does have some useful tips but AIBU to think she cleans alot and often. As a single mum I don't hardly have anytime during the day to do this amount of cleaning! Now it's making me feel bad that I don't clean this much 😂

All the best

Zofloyoyo1 · 06/09/2018 16:58

Late to the party
The amount of stuff being mixed is crazy ann dd unsafe!, zoflora have said unsafe use and I also saw organised mum mention it too! She (hinch)did a semi safety post but boldly stated will continue to do as she is and therefore people will follow suit!! This could be soooo dangerous , zoflora addicts have also expressed concern which was lynched by the barmyhincharmy. You can't put yourself out there and encourage bad practice and to not be heavily criticised !!! Wait til a follower combusts cause they've bathed in it and used minkeh to scrub their pinkeh😂 I'm just the glad the addicts group have killed the hinch postings a bit. They seem to have filtered them it was becoming the greyhinchbrigade.

How on earth one can gain that many followers is beyond me? Never knew you could buy followers!! Interesting!

I kind of get it as semi relatable but mannnnn set my two off in there for five minutes. People will soon get bored of Gareth gates of the cleaning world.

rufusthered · 06/09/2018 16:59

Mrs Hinch, could I just ask you how you feel about the environmental impact of your cleaning, using so much of so many products, flushing wipes and encouraging many other people to do the same?

I must admit I hadn't heard of your site until today, but on googling you I came across many videos of women who have bought a 'haul' of cleaning products evidently inspired by you. These products come in disposable plastic, contain harmful chemicals etc. Do you feel any responsibility for encouraging people to buy so much of this stuff?

Skyejuly · 06/09/2018 17:43

I dont understand it. You can have a clean home without a million products.

Also, I see cleaning like TOMM and its actual cleaning and tidying. This just seems like masking smells with rug spray, swimming in zoflora and a sink scrub.

?

OftenHangry · 06/09/2018 17:51

Oh god. That house is just so gray! And tacky imho....
But every has their style and if she is happy....

Didn't realise you can get 100k+ followers on cleaning pics, well, from what I've seen it's actually just after cleaning pics?

allthemfingbest · 06/09/2018 18:00

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/entertainment-arts-44562679

not sure if any of you are aware of Sophie Gradon? she committed suicide because of online bullying and trolling and a week later her boyfriend did the same because he didn’t want to live without her... that’s two mums without their babies and yet you lot just. keep. going.

blackvelvetband · 06/09/2018 18:05

@allthemfingbest where is the comparison here with the views we've expressed.
I take issue with you drawing this comparison. Since when does feedback (which could actually be taken onboard to help improve her online presence) and expression that you don't like how someone's home is decorated constitute bullying?
Are we all such snowflakes now that adults can't have a discussion around likes and dislikes?

blackvelvetband · 06/09/2018 18:07

Now I'm fucking offended by you! Do you think we should all agree that her house is lovely? And that she's amazing??
All power to her, but you can't possibly believe that her home / cleaning rituals are everyone's cup of tea!

OftenHangry · 06/09/2018 18:08

@blackvelvetband amen!

allthemfingbest · 06/09/2018 18:11

@blackvelvetband i was going to list all the negative things that have been said about Mrs Hinch on this thread; personally attacking her, berating her, mocking her... but then i realised she’s reading it and didn’t want all of it to be lumped nice and neatly together for her to relive so can i ask that you please start from the top and read the thread again... since when is calling some a dick having an adult discussion exactly?

Mumof3girlssoontobe4 · 06/09/2018 18:11

People are entitled to discussions and opinions, if it truly is the real Mrs hinch who has been on here and feels offended/upset, it's worthwhile remembering that she doesn't have to come on here and read it. She has loads of people who love her and what she does, so surely the small amount of people on here who have expressed dislike shouldn't matter a single bit Hmm

Whisky2014 · 06/09/2018 18:13

That person has a problem. Seriously.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 06/09/2018 18:18

Let's not get personal, please.

WhatsthematteryouHEY · 06/09/2018 18:25

I haven't read through the whole thread (it looks a little bonkers), but did see the earlier comment about affiliate links not needing to be disclosed in the UK. This is completely incorrect, this is one area (unlike many others) which ASA is absolutely clear, any affiliate links need to be clearly disclosed.

If you are going to have a career as an influencer, at least read up on the rules before you do it >

www.asa.org.uk/advice-online/affiliate-marketing.html

(also to be really pedantic its a moot point not a mute point)

Mumoftwoxo · 06/09/2018 18:30

Totally agree I've seen so many accounts mention how unsafe it is mxhomes and Lyndsey queen of clean but apparently people sent them abuse for saying it's not good to mix chemicals x

blackvelvetband · 06/09/2018 18:31

@allthemfingbest since when is calling someone a dick reason to cry hysterics and start pointing at suicide risks???!
I'm not sure whether you've had personal experience of suicide, unfortunately I have and I'm downright angry that you could even draw that comparison

allthemfingbest · 06/09/2018 18:47

@whisky2014 if you are referring to me, the woman who is being spoken about on this thread has already come on here and said it is affecting her mental health and causing her anxiety and making her cry, and yet the negative comments keep coming... so how is it reaching to post that article in the hope it might make people more mindful of their actions. if you are not referring to me, apologies and please disregard entirely.

@whatsthematteryouhey i’ll check with my PR agency in the morning, but i believe the affiliate links referred to in that post are ones which are given directly from the brand i.e linking directly to a brand’s website where you would earn a higher percentage rate in the first instance and would most like have been paid a lump sum by the brand to promote, and not a third party like Amazon... infact out of curiosity i went and looked at another popular cleaning account which is mentioned on this thread who uses affiliates to Amazon and she hasn’t declared it either... i absolutely could be wrong. i don’t profess to know everything there ever was. moot point. touché... that one stung a bit... i’m not going to lie... the mundanity on this thread is obviously getting to my poor brain.

@blackvelvetband ever heard it’s not how it was intended but rather how it was received? i have unfortunately had first hand experience of suicide which is why i posted it in the first place! the woman who is being spoken about on this thread has come onto this thread and actually said it is affecting her mental health and yet people are still going. just because you don’t think something should be taken with offence doesn’t make it non offensive!

blackvelvetband · 06/09/2018 18:49

🙄there is no point arguing with ignorance. I'm out

WhatsthematteryouHEY · 06/09/2018 18:57

Hi @allthemfingbest, it doesn't matter if the affiliate payment is direct from a brand or through a third party such as Amazon or Reward Style, you are still driving traffic through your posts and acting as an advertiser, so they need to be disclosed as an AD in some way.

You'll be better off speaking to ASA direct for clarification than your PR agency I would think, unless yours is particularly shit hot on the ASA rules (I don't think many are Hmm)

Lollypop27 · 06/09/2018 20:09

MrsHinch I commented on this thread questioning the amount of products you used. I apologise for any upset I have caused it wasn’t my intention.

BakedBeans47 · 06/09/2018 20:24

No harm to the woman but what a dull account. Surely once you’ve seen each room of her bog standard suburban pad once you’ve seen it all? And all the grey is dull too. What a boring house

BakedBeans47 · 06/09/2018 20:25

Clearly I should RTFT

It looks like Mrs Finch is being supported by a PR agency. Doesn't use organic products, definitely not organic instagram growth, almost definitely not pictures of a real house. Although the followers I clicked on seem real enough. I HIGHLY doubt the Mrs Hinch posting on this forum is the 'real' one, although it is similar in style/grammar etc.
But power to her, it's the way of the future and if she wants to make a living that way, so be it. But yes, toughen up love, the internet is a big bad place, if you stick your head above water you become a target.
*shrugs. Such is life.
