I've had to chuck half of one away because it's quite possibly the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted! Anyone else? Or is it just me...

The 'minced beef' ones need a dash of brown sauce. Yum!

Boilin · 19/08/2018 20:25

The one I had was absolutely disgusting. To the point I couldn't actually believe it was classed as food...

I love them!

Rebecca36 · 19/08/2018 20:26

YANBU. Her sausages are vile and too salty as well.
There are plenty of other vegetarian ready made foods which taste lovely.

IamPickleRick · 19/08/2018 20:27

Can’t do Quorn anymore. I get the reaction almost every time now 💩 it’s nit worth the risk. I really like the Linda’s McCartney stuff but haven’t tried the pies. Like the cheese and leek plaits, chorizo sausages and pulled pork!

avocadosrus · 19/08/2018 20:31

Fry's do a lovely "steak" and pepper pie so much nicer than Linda's you can get them in Morrisons, they're veggie/vegan

The country pies are lovely, the others aren't nice at all though.

PinkBuffalo · 19/08/2018 20:34

I don't like most of the Linda McCartney range. I find a lot of it quite salty tasting as well.
I do have quorn a couple of times a week, and really like some of their bits.

LuluBellaBlue · 19/08/2018 20:40

Love Linda Mc stuff..... but Quorn.... OMG I’m violently ill afterwards 🤮💩
Goodness knows what they make it with!!!

Boilin · 19/08/2018 20:42

They were Quorn. They were horrid. I feel violated.

Bit off to leave the thread standing tbh if you got the brand wrong!

Quorn pies I agree, not pleasant. Much prefer LMC

AnotherOriginalUsername · 19/08/2018 20:48

@LuluBellaBlue it's mycoprotein - basically made from a fungus. There is a warning on the packaging that some people may react to it, an intolerance I guess.

@Boilin I'm shocked! Which ones? I love the Quorn ones but can't stand the Linda McCartney ones!

SuburbanRhonda · 19/08/2018 20:50

I've never understood why a vegan would want to eat fake meat

Seriously? You don’t understand why someone who doesn’t eat meat would want to eat a non-meat chilled meal which uses some of the same flavourings and seasoning as some meat products?

PlainVanilla · 19/08/2018 21:00

What else do you expect from processedfood?

CarrieBlu · 19/08/2018 21:03

I love LM sausage rolls, mozzarella burgers and the red onion and rosemary sausages. The chorizo sausages are awful though! We used to eat the pies when I was little and my mum used to cook them for us, they were alright, nothing too dreadful.

All quorn is horrible IMO!

PositiveVibez · 19/08/2018 21:03

Dd is veggie so I have had the Quorn pies and I think they're quite nice.

The Linda McCartney sausage rolls are da bomb, and also, the mozzarella burgers are really nice.

Boilin · 19/08/2018 21:06

They were Linda McCartney. I thought they had quorn in them. Didn't realise quorn was a brand! It was some sort of gross pretend meat!

YANBU - they are disgusting.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 19/08/2018 21:15

I really like them. In fact, I've never met a Linda Mc product I didn't like. The 'pork' and apple sossy rolls are especially lovely and the hoisin 'duck' is absolutely gorgeous as a filling for steamed buns.

Riotgrrrrrl · 19/08/2018 21:22

The LM sausages give me really bad indigestion.

I adore the sausage rolls though.

BalloonSlayer · 19/08/2018 21:26

We love the mince type ones. Even super fussy DD likes them.

AriadnePersephoneCloud · 19/08/2018 21:29

Another vote for Frys pies here. Also not a fan of LM products.

Ruffian · 19/08/2018 21:31

Funnily enough the country pies are the only LMc things I like!

Most of the quorn stuff is pretty good - I got three of the lasagne today special offer in tescos, I use the mince all the time for chilli/spag bol and DP really likes the quorn 'steak' pies.

MissMisery · 19/08/2018 21:46

It amazes me that they’ve still got enough bits of LM left to make pies out of.
