Just so festival

Was utter hipster nonsense

We came home early more of a county fair

And when a boy was asked by an entinterainer in the not so magical wood who what types of things he hates he shouted TORYS

What 7 year old would give that as a answer

My husband was just like we need to go utter horse shit their wasn’t much music most of the activities were drunk grownups while there children looked on

It seems to me it’s activities hipsters would like their children to do rather than what children actually a over hyped over priced county fair

Spoke to a vendor that was their and said it’s been worse every year and they won’t be back

Utter shite

We booked for Geronimo next year but just for the day mind

Can’t belive we paid £300 for the whole weekend and we’re back home again already we could of had a extra week at Euro camp for that and had ducking change

Does sound shite.

However the boy shouting TORIES would have rescued my weekend somewhat Grin

What's wrong with pastel sheep?

Barbadosbelle · 19/08/2018 12:54

.

What an awful parent you must be.

Would suggest that if you are childless you remain that way.

There has to be something seriously lacking, mentally and academically, in anyone who thinks it is great that a 7-year old is being taught to hate ANYONE.

.

Barbadosbelle · 19/08/2018 12:59

.

I pray that PLEASE you don't have children.

To encourage hatred is appalling and eventually leads to self-loathing and failure in later life.
And NO I don't speak from personal experience - just life experience.

.

Barbadosbelle · 19/08/2018 13:08

.

I despair the comments made by people praising the so-called hate-call by a 7-year-old.
I so so hope that they aren't parents, because if they are then there is no hope for the future of their children. They will grow up to be bigoted, friendless, unsuccessful, depressed adults (probably an identikit of these posters).
Shame on you all.

.

bastardkitty · 19/08/2018 13:16

Wow. Are you okay hun?

slashlover · 19/08/2018 13:28

Everyone is acting as if the kid shouted 'Death to Tories!' or something.

I used to regularly tell my sister that I hated her when I was that age, was never encouraged to do it. The kid could easily have heard his parents discussing the NHS/food banks etc. and decided it was wrong. I also hated Timmy Mallet, Mr Blobby and Gordon the Gopher.

Fireworks91 · 19/08/2018 13:34

Surely if you encourage blanket hatred of a section of society you can't then complain if the kids then turn round and say they "hate poor people", "hate women", "hate gay people" etc etc? Not sure that would be so funny.

My kids are growing up in a fairly liberal, left wing household. They know the names of the main parties, but I'd be really disappointed if they were proud of 'hating' any of them. It's such a superficial attitude.

DancingDot · 19/08/2018 13:40

And are you suggesting that being hipster should be a protected characteristic?

Are you suggesting that being Tory should be a protected characteristic? Wink Grin

YouTheCat · 19/08/2018 13:42

£300! A fool and their money... and all that.

ShumpaLumpa · 19/08/2018 13:58

@DancingDot

Ha no way, I've always voted Labour. My DH votes Conservative though, and I don't hate him usually

youarenotkiddingme · 19/08/2018 14:28

FWIW the kid is 7! He doesn't have to have been taught that.

He's probably picked it up from hearing adults speak.

Some people are a bit odd today Confused

Ahzrei · 19/08/2018 14:29

What's wrong with pastel sheep?

There's nothing wrong with pastel sheep, it's just a measure of how hipsterish the festival is.

QuoadUltra · 19/08/2018 15:05

This thread makes me sad. Who corrects another adult’s grammar?! That’s so smug and spiteful. Yuk.

OP, I agree with you. Children parroting divisive political stuff when they have no possible understanding or balance is gauche and embarrassing. And adults cheering is a bit creepy and limited.

DancingDot · 19/08/2018 15:08

I grew up in a ex-ship building area with high levels of unemployment. My parents were utterly apolitical and did not talk to me about politics ever. It was the 80's. Through sheer osmosis - background noise, tv news, spitting image, newspaper headlines etc - I knew that Maggie Thatcher was BAD. She stole our milk. Kids are extremely observant and there are even more information streams now. I agree that teaching "hate" is not productive, but I don't agree that having a politically aware child is down to bad parenting.

Jux · 20/08/2018 16:27

An interesting fact about spelling: if you're exposed to wrong spellings you are much more likely to make those same spelling mistakes yourself. This has been researched thoroughly and is as safe to conclude to be factual as anything else.

tierraJ · 20/08/2018 20:35

Several of my friends & family are crap at spelling & grammar but I don't make fun of them; I definitely don't think it's right to criticise a stranger on the internet for poor grammar when she did quite clearly get her point across.
