Just so festival

Was utter hipster nonsense

We came home early more of a county fair

And when a boy was asked by an entinterainer in the not so magical wood who what types of things he hates he shouted TORYS

What 7 year old would give that as a answer

My husband was just like we need to go utter horse shit their wasn’t much music most of the activities were drunk grownups while there children looked on

It seems to me it’s activities hipsters would like their children to do rather than what children actually a over hyped over priced county fair

Spoke to a vendor that was their and said it’s been worse every year and they won’t be back

Utter shite

We booked for Geronimo next year but just for the day mind

Can’t belive we paid £300 for the whole weekend and we’re back home again already we could of had a extra week at Euro camp for that and had ducking change

Allegedly.

the 7 year old sounds very hothoused! or my kids aren't very political in comparison. My son is 12 and he could just about tell you donald trump is a bad guy. who wants a 7 year old worrying about tories!?

Hope Geronimo is better.

Smallhorse · 18/08/2018 22:56

What a bratty 7 yo

It all sounds pretty wankywoke, OP

ginandnappies · 18/08/2018 22:57

I'd be super proud of that 7 year old!

ArcadePixie · 18/08/2018 22:59

This is why some areas would vote for anyone regardless just because they are Labour. The parents brainwashing them. No, I’m not a Tory, a floating voter. It’s disgraceful

ShackUp · 18/08/2018 23:14

arcade erm and some areas would always vote Tory! Christ, where I live EVERYONE votes Conservative (then moans about Brexit, when they voted for it he party in whose manifesto the referendum was...)

Stompythedinosaur · 18/08/2018 23:15

I'm at the Just So Festival right now and have been having a brilliant time. Not sure why the op thinks the only activities are parents drinking, we have done back to back stuff with the kids all day - lantern making, a dance class, seen a kids play, did circus skills, saw some illusions, then the lantern parade with a tightrope walking display at the end.

It probably isn't for everyone, but I don't think the festival is crap.

LadyHonoriaDedlock · 18/08/2018 23:28

I worked there a few years ago and it was such hipster wank I started to suspect it was a mockumentary. We (the workers) were fed undercooked crap, messed about constantly and not paid for months after. Wanky adults dressed up as badgers and foxes playing team games. The most fun we had was a 'find the funniest hipster name yelled across the campsite' game.

@Metoodear

No one is trying to be clever and it's not about proving any one is more educated. This is basic grammar which you learn in primary school. It's very simple and easy to remember. Those parents may be a bit silly teaching their kid to hate a political party but you won't even be able to teach your children when you use 'their' instead of 'there' or 'you're' instead of 'your. I'd say that's worse than having being a politically engaged family.

Flyingpompom · 19/08/2018 01:01

Naominagata... that's great, but how will you teach your children not to be twats?
Correcting the spelling and grammar of another adult is downright rude. Perhaps your primary school focused too much on literacy and found no time for basic manners.

CountArthursgroupie · 19/08/2018 02:49

People are teaching their children to hate others with different political views? I find that chilling.

Oysterbabe · 19/08/2018 06:32

Correcting grammar on site like this is a real dick move. Imagine a dyslexic person, or someone who has just had a shitty education, reading this and then being too scared to post seeking help through fear of being made to look stupid. Fuck off grammar police, find another way to try and make yourself feel superior you smug twats.

smashyourglasses · 19/08/2018 06:36

Sounds so wanky. Glad you escaped.

SoSobored · 19/08/2018 07:05

I think maybe if you're offended by a 7 year old saying that they hate tories then you must be a tory!

eco1636 · 19/08/2018 07:58

Agree about the grammar police on a thread like this.
The ones where I am really tempted to call out are when it is teachers posting and using bakers’ apostrophes etc.

NaomiNagata · 19/08/2018 08:03

@Flyingpompom

She was trying. She changed the spelling so she knows there are different uses and she took a shot. She got it wrong. If she had just used the one version throughout then it's not worth picking up on it, but by alternating the spelling she showed that she knows there should be a difference and she's trying to use it. Helping her get it right next time is not rude. Especially in a thread she is using to complain about the way someone else is teaching their child.

roundtable · 19/08/2018 08:15

Leave op's grammar alone. Just rude.

I have a friend with dyslexia who writes in exactly the same way.

Op, I'm not a festival person either but maybe ask around and go on personal recommendation next time? There's got to be one out there for you. Latitude is well spoken about if that's your sort of thing although I've never been.

RichPetunia · 19/08/2018 08:20

Re the grammar police - if you don't know it's wrong, why would you change it? Better to have it pointed out somewhere like this so you don't embarrass yourself in everyday life, and better to have it pointed out so you are better placed to help your own children with their reading and writing, otherwise it is a cycle of illiteracy that goes on and on...

I feel like a bad person but I find myself agreeing with the grammar police the "there" and "their" being used so incorrectly made me wince!

Fireworks91 · 19/08/2018 08:24

That's a shame, I'd often looked at it online and thought it looked cool, bit of a trek for us. We did Rhythm Tree on the Isle of Wight this year, was awesome.

TaMamaiSaChistinAgusSanOifig · 19/08/2018 08:27

It's just so boring though, pointing it out..

Banana8080 · 19/08/2018 08:30

I was on anti-pol tax marches when I was 7 so I had an opinion on Tories by then. Nothing wrong with that.

But finding the grammar policy distasteful on here - get a life.

Metoodear · 19/08/2018 08:31

just wanted to say thanks for all the concern about my children’s welfare and not getting anywhere in life due to my ability to spell but like I said on the above thread I am fine thanks my Son is just staring a traineeship at a aeronautical engineering company he has 9 GCSES a-c grade and a merit -distinction in his BETC

I also own my own job have a lovey job thanks

Your concern about my kids education would be touching if we’re actually about we know it’s about showing how clever you are so please take your highly educated self and go into teaching I am sure you would be an asset you correct all the parents to and the other teachers fun times
