To be mad at MIL!

mmmbagels · 16/08/2018 08:58

I was in the hospital around the time of my daughter's final vaccines, and MIL said she would take her. She told me she had them done and that DD was teary but was fine.

DD is 8 months old now and I just received a letter saying it was never done. I'm bloody fuming!!!

Any luck with the GP?

apriljune12 · 16/08/2018 18:55

Busiest GPs practise in the world

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 16/08/2018 18:59

Would the local health authority have the records of this along with the GP?

crispysausagerolls · 16/08/2018 19:28

This is an Agatha Christie level mystery, I am very over-invested and would really like to know what the outcome is!

BertrandRussell · 16/08/2018 19:42

My money is:on it being a mistake by the surgery. Occam’s Razor and all that.

LyndorCake · 16/08/2018 20:08

The fact that OP hasn't come back makes me think that it was all a misunderstanding

Helloisitteaurlookingfor · 16/08/2018 20:09

My money is on the letter being sent in error & OP doesn't want to admit she hastily got mad at her MIL Wink.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 16/08/2018 20:09

Yes that's probably it. I'm sure we'd have all heard by now otherwise.

flumpybear · 16/08/2018 20:13

Our GP will only do if got red book too - my DH has to run home to retrieve it!

BertrandRussell · 16/08/2018 20:14

Very disappointing.

Notagainmun · 16/08/2018 20:17

Poor MIL if she has done a favour and gets accused of lying.

QuickNC123 · 16/08/2018 20:35

Following with interest!

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 16/08/2018 20:36

Have you got to the bottom of it yet OP?

monkeytoad35 · 16/08/2018 21:24

OP should have checked with GP surgery first before questioning her MIL! I'd like to know the outcome though

BertrandRussell · 16/08/2018 21:50

The OP is either incandescent with absolutely justified rage or embarking on a week of grovel.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 16/08/2018 21:54

How very weird. Hope you sort it out and it's an innocent misunderstanding.

HarryPotterNerdAlert · 16/08/2018 21:55

It could easily be an admin error but I'm not convinced by MIL until the GPs confirmed either way.

Lotsalotsagiggles · 16/08/2018 22:00

Ask her outright, surely gp also knows if no shows for Apts?

augustboymummy17 · 16/08/2018 22:01

When my lb had his 3rd set of injections we had a letter out about a month later asking us to book them I called in a panic and they said the letter had been sent out by mistake could it be something like that?

Toomanydecisions · 17/08/2018 07:52

We're never going to find out are we?

diddl · 17/08/2018 08:28

It doesn#t really matter which set of jabs MIL thinks she took her for-she could be mistaken.

All that matters is did she have any jabs on the day in question.

Easily resolved I would have thought.

BasilFaulty · 17/08/2018 08:28

^ NOOOOOOOO

BertrandRussell · 17/08/2018 09:33

This thread is interesting from a general "Mumsnet mil" point of view that a significant number of people, when given the choice between clerical error and evil mil have gone straight for evil mil. Despite loads of evidence that clerical errors happen.

BertrandRussell · 17/08/2018 09:35

And that includes the thread title and the OP!

fairgame84 · 17/08/2018 09:39

OP can't update as she is busy burying MIL under the patio Wink
