After all this recent stuff. Please could we have someone else and make labour electable again. Why is he still there and do we think he still will be for the forseeable?

Any labour Prime Minister has an uphill battle in terms of the press. Blair recognised this and strategised.
There is a desperate need for someone to occupy the middle ground electorally, whoever did that would get elected.

Urbannightmare · 15/08/2018 19:32

How can he control his public image in the face of such biased right wing media? Sadly people don't seem able to look beyond the headlines

Ohhbollix · 15/08/2018 19:33

I like to think there's an alternative universe where Umunna / Burnham / Thornberry/ Jarvis is in charge and actually giving the Tories hell.
Thornberry? Are you sure? She has proved to be as much of a liability as Corbyn. Not to mention her misplaced loyalty to him.

Metoodear · 15/08/2018 19:34

Lady thoneberry don’t you know

crunchymint · 15/08/2018 19:34

The Labour Party are too misogynistic for a women Leader. Won't happen for quite a few years yet.

bellinisurge · 15/08/2018 19:35

Foot was a decent intelligent bloke but unelectable. Corbyn is a git. Also unelectable. No point winning over his own supporters. He has to win over other people and convince them he's not a git and his team are not a bunch of no-hope idiots who couldn't run a raffle. He's failing to do that.

Yeah it’s all fake news and the failing Gardian

😂😂😂😂😂

We’re have we heard this guys

It’s fake news and the failing New York Times

Metoodear · 15/08/2018 19:37

He’s already got his cult on lock he has to convince people like me to elect him

GOOD LUCK with that

With a Center left MP ahoyay have had a chance you have 0 to no chance

FranticallyPeaceful · 15/08/2018 19:37

Media influence aside: I can never take these kind of threads seriously anymore anyway, not since Tory’s admitted to paying people to look legit on forums and social media whilst slagging off labour.

crunchymint · 15/08/2018 19:38

Social media offers an opportunity to put out your own image. Look at Trump who is rightly widely ridiculed by much mainstream press. He still managed to reach out to supporters.

Biologifemini · 15/08/2018 19:39

Because he considers the ends justifies the means in the case of hamas. And many agree with him.
Basically you can get away with this in the name of socialism. Anyone else would have got the boot.

GerdaLovesLili · 15/08/2018 19:40

Tory’s admitted to paying people to look legit on forums and social media whilst slagging off labour.

Because saintly Labour would never do that of course Grin

TheWernethWife · 15/08/2018 19:40

murderous dictators I remember Margaret Thatcher cosying up to General Pinochet, now he was a bloody murderous dictator. Yvette Cooper didn't get enough votes, Chukka Umunna backed out because he didn't like the press intrusion into his family, bless the little snowflake, what did he think being leader of a party entailed.
Andy Burnham is doing ok up here and no-one can take Stephen Kinnock seriously

FranticallyPeaceful · 15/08/2018 19:43

Cult? His “followers” would all up and leave if Labour started backing austerity and stopped caring about normal people. The reason people are drawn to corbyn is because he’s a man with integrity and genuinely cares. He’s honest and has fought for the same things since before a lot of us were born. If he started acting like a Tory then he wouldn’t have the backing. So no, not a cult, just a movement

ilovesooty · 15/08/2018 19:46

I wouldn't trust David Miliband as far as I could throw him.

butterflysugarbaby · 15/08/2018 19:47

YANBU. I have no idea how or why he is still there.

Dreadful leader, and has wrecked the Labour Party - along with the ghastly Diane Abbott.

I have always voted Labour, but would vote Conservative first now.

Stripyhoglets1 · 15/08/2018 19:52

I'm staying in the party simply so I can hopefully get a chance to vote him out at some stage. He'll never win an election so should go and allow someone who could to become leader but the momentum lot have such a stranglehold on the party that even when so many of the PLP said they had no confidence in him he didn't go.

Trampire · 15/08/2018 19:54

I'll never vote Labour with him there.

In fact I intensely dislike all the main faces - McDonell, Abbott, Thornbury. There scare the fucking shit out of me.

The Tories are just laughable at the moment, so not much more hope there either. However they don't seem to scare me like the Corbynites do.

Something drastic will have to happen for me to find someone to vote for again. Whoever said we need a proper centre ground was right. That's where my vote would be.

Bluntness100 · 15/08/2018 19:57

Just not about the Jews, eh?

bellinisurge · 15/08/2018 20:00

@FranticallyPeaceful - I'm pretty much his age and have seen people like him try to ruin the Labour Party before. He's not the lovely darling you think he is. And the fact you can't see anything wrong with him speaks volumes. Even people who are prepared to put up with him or who prefer to focus on what they think is positive can see what a first class shit he is.

PestymcPestFace · 15/08/2018 20:00

Wonder why there are so many angry people out today. Do they not like the polls.

Well FWIW I can assure you I'm not getting paid for this post! (wouldn't mind a few quid Wink Grin)

I agree with you trampire

JellyBears · 15/08/2018 20:09

Because he’s the perfect cult leader and moron lefties are eating his words up!!

bellinisurge · 15/08/2018 20:15

I'm apparently to be paid to post my disgust at Brexit and my disgust about Corbyn. Let me know where I can get my money from.
It couldn't possibly be my genuine feelings because who could despise Brexit and Corbyn?

jasjas1973 · 15/08/2018 20:26

Bluntness100

There are plenty of Jews who back JC.

The 4 1972 Munich killers are not buried Tunisia but at a cemetery in Libya, so he couldnt have laid a wreath for them!
Thatcher condemned the 1985 attack on the PLO, as did most world leaders, it killed women and children as well as PLO members.

He was meeting members of the IRA but long long after Tory and Labour Governments of the 70s and 80s were talking to them...how else do you think the IRA disbanded and the GFA came about?

The mainstream press are Tory and the BBC is funded by...guess what? the Government.
However, so long as JC is there, he ll always attract criticism from the press because people like you are gullible and believe this shitte.

My beef with Labour and JC is Brexit and in that he has failed, so he should step aside.

I'd like to see Jess Phillips stand, Cooper is associated with Blair as is Starmer.
