So there is a thread about TV characters and it got me thinking. So AIBU to ask what movie really makes you cry?
The Green Mile. The moment when Tom Hanks says "We love you. Can you feel that?"
Sad

Nobody has ever seen this film, but The Mighty. It's a film based on a book and both make me cry every time.

n0ne · 11/08/2018 07:52

Oh, and Brassed Off! OMG, that was killer

zombie999 · 11/08/2018 07:53

@quackaday is that with robin Williams?

ZanyMobster · 11/08/2018 07:53

Untamed Heart with Christian Slater and Ghost, I cry all the way through now just knowing everything coming up.

ET for sure, not sure why but it does really get to me. Also watched It's a Dog's Life with my youngest and I was a wreck.

quackaday · 11/08/2018 07:54

@zombie999 that's the one 😭😭😭

BookWitch · 11/08/2018 07:55

The Color Purple - seen it many times and start crying about 10 mins in and don't really stop

Has no one mentioned Terms of Endearment - an old one but OMG I was a mess

The beginning of UP

Beaches

Officer and a Gentleman

zombie999 · 11/08/2018 07:55

@quackaday I watched that this week for the first time. I was a mess! Robin Williams is one of my favourite actors I was genuinely heart broke when he died.....I don't know what I will do when Tom hanks leaves us

BookWitch · 11/08/2018 07:56

Oh and Dead Poets Society

ZanyMobster · 11/08/2018 07:56

Actually I think it's called A Dog's Purpose not it's a Dog's life

strawberryalarmclock · 11/08/2018 07:58

Truly Madly Deeply, I absolutely sob every time I watch it

blondeemily · 11/08/2018 07:58

CaptainApollo · 11/08/2018 08:06

Big Fish for me too. I first saw it about a week after my grandad died. Held it together until the closing credits then the Pearl Jam song Man of the Hour starts and I properly ugly sobbed for about an hour Blush
Can't watch even a few minutes of it now and can't listen to the song.

Raffles1981 · 11/08/2018 08:06

I went to the cinema to watch A Dogs Purpose. I was pregnant. You can imagine my reaction.

@Zombie999 - I cried when Robin Williams died too. I agree about Tom Hanks. That is not going to be good.

The Elephant Man, sobbed all the way

FranticallyPeaceful · 11/08/2018 08:10

Dumbo. Every single time. I can’t watch it without having an ugly-cry breakdown

StarsShineBrightly · 11/08/2018 08:11

The first time i watched The Constant Gardener i cried from the cinema until we got to the car park. I rarely cried at films pre- kids, but this really got to me.

Up, those first five minutes

Coco

Bridge to terrabithia

A monster calls, excellent film and totally wasn't expecting it to be like that as i didn't know anything about it

Collateral beauty with Will Smith.

Neverender · 11/08/2018 08:11

Seven Pounds

sofato5miles · 11/08/2018 08:13

I see someone finally mentioned Terms of Endearment! When the mother is shouting for pain relief for her daughter... I well up thinking about it.

Also, another one is Once were Warriors, an old NZ film that is just incredible. I was crying so hard with that one I had to be comforted by my brother's friend who moved sofas to hug me

cricketballs3 · 11/08/2018 08:15

Pay It Forward
Marley and Me

Crumb502 · 11/08/2018 08:15

I don't think anyone has mentioned Steel Magnolias yet - that gets me every time!

FarrahMoan · 11/08/2018 08:17

Benjamin Button - the ending is the saddest thing I have ever seen
