Is this period shaming?

I flushed a tampon down the loo but didn’t realise it hadn’t flushed away (I normally put them in the bin in little bags & get rid).
Partner came into room and told me that at the age of 44 I should know better and made me feel upset as he has seen it. I feel so embarrassed.
Aibu to feel upset? I don’t need to e bloody told off for my period.

I honestly can't tell if you're trolling or genuinely thick.

SisterNotCisTerf · 08/08/2018 21:07

Really? Throw some more personal attacks at me. We’ll see who HQ delete.

SisterNotCisTerf · 08/08/2018 21:08

Or you could answer the question.....

riiiiight · 08/08/2018 21:13

Well if HQ read my response they will see I answered your bloody question many times over. I actually highlighted and bullet pointed my response.

If they delete me it will because you have been reporting me, they don't randomly search posts to report Hmm Confused and I haven't reported you, so no, they probably won't delete your posts. Confused

If they actually happen to be reading the thread though they might well understand my total bafflement at your bizarre form of interrogation.

riiiiight · 08/08/2018 21:16

No offence but Paxman you aint.

Frogscotch7 · 08/08/2018 21:18

I can’t stop laughing about the period being a red herring.

lexer · 08/08/2018 21:18

"Period shaming" really. What next?

SisterNotCisTerf · 08/08/2018 21:18

I haven’t reported you, I’m happy to let your offensive posts stand for whoever wants to see them.

And no, you havent answered the question.

Also, if be offended if you did think I was paxman 😂

.

Is this period shaming?
steff13 · 08/08/2018 21:26

I never heard of anyone having had a blocked drain from them.

I personally know three people who have had to call a plumber because if blocked drains caused by flushing tampons.

SisterNotCisTerf · 08/08/2018 21:41

Another taunting post. No-one expected anything else though.

hibbledibble · 08/08/2018 21:50

I don't see the issue, you should have known better than to flush a tampon. It clogs your pipes and the sewers. If it accidentally went into the toilet, you should have removed it

Incidentally, menstrual cups and reusable pads are far more environmentally friendly alternatives.

SalemBlackCat · 08/08/2018 22:08

I think people are missing the entire issue:

" told me that at the age of 44 I should know better and made me feel upset as he has seen it. I feel so embarrassed "

It is the aggressive, accusatory and rather belittling way he spoke to her. OP, yes, I can't work out if he period-shamed you or not, but he was unnecessarily rude, patronising and belittling of you. It was an accident (and yes, I have had times where I've pulled on the string, it came out and I accidentally dropped it habit as if it were paper - it happens, don't beat yourself up, I've done it a few times Blush ), there are ways of saying things, tact etc. Commenters on here mainly seem to have it fly straight over there heads.

rudewordsaretheshit · 08/08/2018 22:08

Literally the only thing YABU about I was using the word "shaming". If I could obliterate a word, that would be it.

SalemBlackCat · 08/08/2018 22:09

*dropped it into the bowl out of habit

SalemBlackCat · 08/08/2018 22:11

Ugh! *Commenters on here mainly seem to have had the point of your post fly straight over there heads.

riiiiight · 08/08/2018 22:13

I' mnot sure if it actually flew over their heads or if MN has climbed up it's own arsehole as of late. People seem determined to not read the actual post so they can make up some crime to pull the OP up on.
