He is clearly racist. He should be thrown out of the Conservative party.

cuppaorwine erm you do realise Iraq and Iran are separate countries....
Hijab compulsory in Iran but optional in Iraq depending on where you live.

YeTalkShiteHen · 10/08/2018 11:35

DP is an Iraq veteran and keeps in touch with a family in Basra. Their daughter is now 21, with a degree and wears skinny jeans and a tshirt most days! Never a hijab, niqab or burqa.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 10/08/2018 11:35

Bit rich for westerners to point the figure at countries they are either happy to bomb, sell arms to or holiday in.

Cuppaorwine · 10/08/2018 11:40

Sorry typo! Clearly! Calm down because that’s clearly the main issue here Hmm

Cuppaorwine · 10/08/2018 11:41

ghoso

Whataboutary again there!

GhostofFrankGrimes · 10/08/2018 11:46

It’s not whatsboutery it’s recognising hypocrisy or western virtue signalling Grin

Cuppaorwine · 10/08/2018 12:01

No you are virtue signalling not me.

You just can’t bring yourself to criticise the inherent mysogyny in a woman dressing from head to foot and face covered to be modest and to not inflame men.

You are so afraid of being called islamophobic or even racist you can’t do it.

All religions are about power and control. We critise Christianity and Judaism quite rightly but your western woke won’t allow you to voice any criticism of Islam.

Of course it’s ridiculous to walk around in a burkha and cover your face. It’s clearly ridiculous, impractical, uncomfortable and unnecessary. You know that just as well as me but you are too scared to say it.

Women’s rights are second to your worry about being called islamophobic.

YeTalkShiteHen · 10/08/2018 12:08

You just can’t bring yourself to criticise the inherent mysogyny in a woman dressing from head to foot and face covered to be modest and to not inflame men.

Criticise it all you like, but do try and get the countries you accuse of forcing this right won’t you?

Cuppaorwine · 10/08/2018 12:16

Right so you can’t debate properly you prefer to mention a typo. Grin

Cowardly.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 10/08/2018 12:16

I don’t see many threads complaining about aspects of Christianity. Take alook at the views of the DUP in same sex relationships abortion in NI. The party propping up the British government. Get your own house in order before you start criticising other countries/cultures.

Islamaphobia is rife in Britain. Johnson’s comments were designed to stir the pot, picking on an already marginalised group.
Let’s have a debate about all religions not just the ones that make good scapegoats. It’s selective outrage. Lots of clothes and footwear are uncomfortable.

As for oppressive regimes, criticise the patriarchal structure absolutely but if your happy to turn a blind eye to other morally questionable acts - investing in these countries, selling arms then you might want to check your moral compass.

mirialis · 10/08/2018 12:23

You've not seen threads complaining about the DUP/catholic attitudes to abortion and homosexuality?

Just do a search FFS.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 10/08/2018 12:29

The debate about Islam is never ending particularly amongst the press and certain politicians. The DUP stuff was fleeting and coverage virtually non existent now.

I don’t see Christians being mocked by politicians or generally the victims of hate crimes (thankfully)

Cuppaorwine · 10/08/2018 12:32

I have been on many threads regards catholic attitudes to abortion ghosto

Again whataboutary.

You really can’t debate the case here can you.

You and posters like you are in a difficult position between trying to be feminists but not calling out rank mysogyny incase you get called islamophobic.

It’s quite funny really to feel your panic. You prefer to pick on a typo than to debate the real question.

Cuppaorwine · 10/08/2018 12:33

Oh more whataboutary there.

WarPigeon · 10/08/2018 12:33

Freedom of speech has been around in one form or another since the 6th century and under current laws unless inciting violence he can say what he likes.

Plus he’s a very smart man, he knew and wanted to kick up a storm.

Cuppaorwine · 10/08/2018 12:35

lots of clothes and Footware are uncomfortable

Grin oh dear.

Cuppaorwine · 10/08/2018 12:35

Of course he did he’s an odious man and a very manipulative one.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 10/08/2018 12:40

I call out the selective outrage as hypocrisy.

People defending Johnson despite the abhorrent comments he’s made in the past whilst claiming to care about equality.

People happy for their government to be propped up by the DUP yet point the finger at other countries religious attitudes.

People who want “free speech” but also to dictate how other people dress.

People turning a blind eye to the dog whistle element of the article. It’s not about headwear it’s another stick for a country with serious hate crime problems in which to beat Muslims with.

YeTalkShiteHen · 10/08/2018 12:45

Right so you can’t debate properly you prefer to mention a typo

So now it’s a typo? More like you can’t tell the difference between the countries you’re so vehemently arguing against.

Not being able to admit a mistake is more cowardly!

YeTalkShiteHen · 10/08/2018 12:45

GhostofFrankGrimes bang fucking on!

Cuppaorwine · 10/08/2018 12:49

I already said after I posted it was a typo. So that’s now 3 times you are very silly arnt you.

And yes I meant you and Ghosto are both cowards. You can’t debate this properly because your comfortable western virtue signalling won’t let you.

Look up Tracey Ullmans ‘so woke’ skit on U Tube. She must have met you both Grin

Cuppaorwine · 10/08/2018 12:50

Oh Ghosto the heatwave has broken maybe you could get that into your next post too. Much safer than debating the real question.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 10/08/2018 12:52

You’ve lost the argument cuppa. That’s the problem with feigned selective outrage. You get caught out eventually.

YeTalkShiteHen · 10/08/2018 12:52

Cuppa resorting to insults generally means you’ve lost the argument.

Self importance isn’t an attractive quality in anyone, neither is being deliberately nasty.

So off you pop and try to upset someone else, because you’ve been summed up tidily by Ghost’s last post and from your reaction you’re not happy about it. Job done Ghost Grin

GhostofFrankGrimes · 10/08/2018 12:55

Cheers yetalk Wine
