Can I ask, which famous person do you get told you look like?

Some friends were over at the weekend. Their kids love Mrs Doubtfire and had watched it again recently. They told me how much I look like the mum character in the film, Sally Field . My son-in-law then piped up and said "Yeah I thought that too when I first met you". I can't see it myself but it could have been worse (thank the lord they didn't think I look like Robin Williams in drag!).

Can I ask who you get told you look like and whether you're happy with the comparison?

I used to get Bridget Fonda and Dolores O'Riordan when I was younger and thinner.

Then Mary Portas when I had my hair in a bright red bob.

Now I just get told I look like my mother.

When I was young, the dark haired girl in Abba. And a young Glenda Jackson. I can see some truth in both.

I get Rheese Witherspoon a lot... and my DH gets told he looks like Robbie Williams

I still get Alyson Hannigan since school (in her Buffy days), and flatteringly, Kathy Burke (I make absolutely no effort at work).

DS's dad is a brown eyed Oliver Reed, OH looks like James McAvoy

Princess Diana! Although I was much younger, this was back in the early 90s. I think the only resemblance was a slight similarity in hairstyle.

Got Kirsty Gallagher in my 20’s and Katie Holmes in my teens. Now I’m in my 30’s, it’s the woman puppet from the Dolmio advert according to several people. Not the old one yet though so I’ll take it .

I get Brooke Shields a lot, and when I was younger I got Cindy Crawford quite a bit. I promise you I am under no illusion that I am at their standards...more like a diluted version of either of them 😂

Nigella Lawson, I don't know why but as a 20 something (and hopefully considered svelte) I always find this mildly offensive. The last time the comparison was made it kickstarted a two-week juice cleanse! Yes, I have issues.

Personally I think a lot of people just see blonde bob & blue eyes = Cameron Diaz. Petite with tan & brown hair = eva longoria, etc, etc. Doesn’t every single celeb get recognised as being someone they are not?
