Lazy morning, looked out of the front about 9.30ish to see a van parked partly over my drive.

I'm completely blocked in.

To add insult to injury, they're parked over the entire pavement and due to a deeds anomaly, I own that land too.

No idea where they are.

Sadly I have to go out at 3pm (not by car) so hoping I catch them before then!

I mean, I don't quite understand why you're blocking the area with your bin instead of just going across the road to have a word with him. Why wouldn't you tell him he can't park there and point out that he illegally blocked you in before?

Because they’ve gone out in another car with Mr Opposite. I’ll be going across when I get back.

Just realised that wasn’t clear. I’ve popped out too but only for 20 mins or so

Also point out to him that you own that land and if he wants to park there then he'll owe you parking fees. Make 'em about £10 an hour. That should sort it.

Take only a copy of deed out in case he is an unmitigated oik.

Jux · 09/08/2018 16:37

Good luck!

Back with an update.

Caught the chap and Mr Opposite. Told them not to park over my drive - that they were lucky I didn’t take it further on Tuesday. I explained I owned the land and previously when they’ve parked a car there (and caused no issues) I’ve been generous enough to allow it and I was sure they wouldn’t want to lose that facility (partially selfish as I like when I’m not there regularly having cars in front of the house for security).

Chap muttered about it being difficult to park.

I did a sort of sucky teeth “what can you do noise”.

So we’ll see. But he’s been told.

"Well why don't you ask your good mate Mr Opposite to put some of his fleet of cars onto his bloody DRIVE and free up some space"

would be a logical retort Wink

Or "Hmm , its a saga alright , still you don't want me to get you clamped'n'towed do you now........" Tinkly little laugh and a HeadTilt for good measure Grin

Tinkly little laugh and a HeadTilt for good measure

I did a little casual “don’t give a fuck” shrug in manner of “not my circus” etc.

Almost looking forward to tomorrow morning now!

Someone parked on my drive when I was at home once. I glued a rude A4 note on his windscreen then may in wait. When he came back, I came out yelling how fucking dare you, park here again and I'll slash your fucking tyres you fucking prick etc. He went sheet white and burned rubber.

No regrets. Fucking entitled bellend.

onemouseplace · 09/08/2018 18:54

Ooh - one of my neighbours tried the 'it's so difficult to park round here, we're all in it together, aren't we' line on me once when I caught him swanning out on his bike for a ride whilst his car was parked over the end of our drive, blocking me in.

I was very much "whatever Hmm

Jux · 09/08/2018 21:20

You know, the more parking threads I read on mn, the more I think that it should be illegal to park on the road if you have a drive you can park on.

Would that work, do you think?

Call police/get it towed.
