And whether you think it would be a nice Christmas present?

(yes, I'm starting very early, but you have to if you want the best bargains)!

More context would be good ie who the recipient would be.

However, no, sorry, it’s a cheap acrylic jumper.

MatildaTheCat · 05/08/2018 10:08

Last week I saw heavily reduced cashmere jumpers in Uniqlo which is more of a bargain.

Oysterbabe · 05/08/2018 10:09

It depends who for, it's not something I'd wear. Maybe for an elderly woman.

Monny1 · 05/08/2018 10:11

Not sure!

Lucked · 05/08/2018 10:11

No. I like neither the design or the colours.

Sweetcarrielynne · 05/08/2018 10:12

Depends on the recipient but I have to say I don't like it myself - I think it's quite old fashioned looking and the pattern isn't very flattering. Who would you be buying it for?

FannyCornforth · 05/08/2018 10:12

Hi! I don't think it's very nice at all! Horrible colours; strange design with weird v-shape at neck; too tight; too short; and made from nasty, sweaty acrylic. You did ask!

storynanny · 05/08/2018 10:13

Well Im elderly (61) and its too old fashioned for me.

Nanasueathome · 05/08/2018 10:13

I’m elderly
I wouldn’t wear that jumper
Sorry

Pompom42 · 05/08/2018 10:14

No I can't imagine who it would suit

fifififififi · 05/08/2018 10:14

It would be for a 90 year old

OP posts:
GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 05/08/2018 10:15

Not my style no.

SneakyGremlins · 05/08/2018 10:15

Well funnily enough I was just about to say my 92 year old grandma would love it!

VickieCherry · 05/08/2018 10:15

I think it's very ugly and would be unflattering on most people (very high neck, awkward colour blocking, meh colour), plus it's cheap and not very special. Not a bargain! I'm sure you could find something much nicer.

FannyCornforth · 05/08/2018 10:17

If it's horrible, it's horrible. I don't know why horrible things are deemed more appropriate / suitable for people who are older.

FannyCornforth · 05/08/2018 10:21

My 92 year old grandmother would hate it.

Bluelady · 05/08/2018 10:23

Same here, Fanny. It seems if it's nasty then it's for an older woman. I just don't get it.

Ethylred · 05/08/2018 10:30

Stop it, I'm 63 but no way am I fucking elderly.
That said, I have learnt to accept a seat on the tube when it is offered to me.

ToadOfSadness · 05/08/2018 10:36

There is a reason it has not sold well, actually having looked again, several reasons.

I prefer acrylic, other fibres make me itch.

bluebeck · 05/08/2018 10:39

It's grim.

SuitedandBooted · 05/08/2018 10:40

It's not nice, sorry!

Strange blocking, (reminds me of a golfing jumper), nasty colour and the wide rib will sit very awkwardly on anyone who isn't really slim.

I'm sure you can find something much better - you have 141 days (apparently) Wink Shock Gin!!

pennycarbonara · 05/08/2018 10:41

It would be for a 90 year old

Would consider for someone that age - but only if she has always lived on a tight budget and didn't consider wool to be standard for jumpers.

But if she is frail I would probably go for a darker colour that wouldn't show the slightest spill or splash, the way that pastel and white would.

Bluelady · 05/08/2018 10:41

65 here and still refusing seats on the tube! And refusing to be any kind of stereotype.

daisychain01 · 05/08/2018 10:44

I'm sure you can do better OP.

The colour isn't flattering, but I can't stand dusky pink type colours. A more definite colour is more flattering.

My DM always looks stunning and I realised that she uses colours in a clever way - normally quite vibrant colours or a blend of neutrals with a nice scarf in uplifting definite colours not pastels.

Bluelady · 05/08/2018 10:44

Here we go again. If you're 90 you automatically spill your food down your front. Ageism is alive and well and rampant on MN.
