Like brain surgery or astrophysics. You know the kind of thing that's easier than the absolute slog of princessing.

DD met Eugenie in the Spring and says she is tiny and really pretty in the flesh.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 05/08/2018 19:00

@soaringswallow

I don’t know too much about magazine publishing lead times but surely it would take at least 2 months to get a vogue photo shoot sorted, especially for the September issue.
I think this is more of a pr campaign to rehabilitate the entire York family.

Deshasafraisy · 05/08/2018 19:02

Eugenie has a job. Don’t know about Beatrice but eugenie definitely works

Blackbirdblue30 · 05/08/2018 19:17

Doesn't she work in an art gallery? Paid work in that field without loads of awful free internships on top of a very good degree is bloody hard to get.
And she takes 25 holiday days in her first 10 weeks.

Deshasafraisy · 05/08/2018 19:23

She’s a director at Hauser Wirth in London.

SamanthaBrique · 05/08/2018 19:28

carry on with the vintage television references. Tells me something about your own vintage.

Nice attempt at a burn but thanks to the wonders of reruns and YouTube, my teenage nieces know who Mrs Bucket is! Maybe I should've said Mrs Bennett but then you might've thought I was 250 Grin

CSIblonde · 05/08/2018 19:36

Yep it's terrible life, fancy getting 'scrutiny' for 9 holidays in one year and no proper job. (can't remember which one but both are always on holiday). Entitled, irrelevant poor little rich girls. Enough already, get a proper job and stop moaning.

Belindabauer · 05/08/2018 19:36

As an aside is it true that Meghan step sister/half sister is appearing on big brother?!!!!!

UrsulaPandress · 05/08/2018 19:38

I've heard she is.

I think the term blood princesses is most appropriate.

As for tennages watching vintage tv programmes on YouTube!? Erm... okaaay, if you say so. I am not inclined to believe you, though. They have got much more interesting things to do.🙄

RoseWhiteTips · 05/08/2018 20:38

Oops

teenagers

PineappleFwitters · 05/08/2018 20:41

But why so excited over a “blood princess”?

RoseWhiteTips · 05/08/2018 20:41

Suggestions on a postcard?

ScattyCharly · 05/08/2018 20:44

Yabvu op
It’s not like a normal person switching jobs.
They are royalty, princesses, and this is their entire family and identity. Not just a job. I feel sorry for them and don’t envy them no matter how much money they have.

ScattyCharly · 05/08/2018 20:45

Even the 9 holidays. No thanks with paps following.

lazyhazysummer · 05/08/2018 20:49

They don't get overly bothered by paps, people aren't that interested in two ordinary privileged young women. If they do get pursued, just give the paps a few snaps and they're gone. Nothing to get worked up about.

SheStoopsToConker · 05/08/2018 20:50

The whole interview and announcements that Eugenie will be inviting members of the public to her wedding and doing a carriage ride around Windsor just smacks of trying to keep up with the Cambridges.

At the end of the day, they're both fairly average-looking and averagely-dressed young women who don't have any particular talent and wouldn't be given a second glance if not for being princesses of the Blood. If they don't want a life in the public eye then they could do worse than follow the example of aunt Anne or cousin Zara.

FirstOfHerName · 05/08/2018 21:03

It's "princess of the blood", not "blood princess" - they aren't characters from an Anne Rice novel!

MyNameIsNotSteven · 05/08/2018 22:13

If it's the piece I read yesterday, the comment about going to piss ups charity events every night but having 'very understanding bosses' gave me the rage.

SamanthaBrique · 05/08/2018 22:28

Of course her boss is going to be understanding, he probably likes the cachet of employing a princess!

Blackbirdblue30 · 05/08/2018 22:38

Reiterating what someone said above- what twenty-something gets to walk into a prestigious job that they have barely any qualifications or experience for? Show up when they feel like it and pretend it's work like everyone else has to do? That's just a joke.

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 05/08/2018 22:50

The main problem with Beatrice and Eugenie is their awful, pushy parents. Hence that badly advised Vogue piece. There seems to be a campaign to place them more into public life, but the fact is that neither of them are particularly interesting or doing anything amazingly worthwhile with their lives. So publicity just makes them come across as vacuous, even though they seem to be quite nice women.
The royals have access to the best education money can buy, then they waste it doing the standard sloane thing of poncing around going on holiday 'working' in an art gallery. They'd be much more interesting if they'd become doctors and gone to work for the nhs full time or something.

RoseWhiteTips · 05/08/2018 23:00

It was merely a form of shorthand! Lollol
🙄😂

RoseWhiteTips · 05/08/2018 23:03

For absolute clarity, the following might help you:

“Under the current practice, princesses of the blood royal are the legitimate daughters and the legitimate male line granddaughters of a British Sovereign...”
