To be unsurprised that Corbyn is still being called anti-semitic?

Corbyn has been quite happy over the years to work with those who are clearly anti-Semitic. And he continues to do so. Whilst at the same time saying that he condemns all forms of racism, recently changed to say he condemns anti semitism. Does he not realise yet that people judge him by his actions, not his broad statements which are pretty meaningless? And until he clearly shows in his actions that he condemns anti semitism, these allegations will continue?

Tomorrowillbeachicken you have hit the nail on the head in a way. Labour more willing to act against those who think they are being slow to act on anti-semitic remarks than against those who may have made the anti-semitic remarks themselves.

Ken Livingstone has left the Labour Party, not expelled, and for two years did not even face a disciplinary hearing.

Justanotherlurker · 01/08/2018 20:18

and now we are back to pointing out that criticising Israel (its government) is not a crime.

Everybody has the right to criticise a sovereign nation, the problem has always been with the far left (caveat:far right are bad) is that they muddy the waters quite a lot with criticism and start using outright right wing tropes.

Everyone is pointing out that he should have control of the party, because a lot of anti zionists are coming out of the woodwork.

Bingpot · 01/08/2018 20:20

Oh no @caroldecker don't you remember? He didn't look closely at the mural, he said. He was just making a totally innocent, not at all anti-Semitic comment about freedom of expression. It just happened to feature racist caricatures of Jews controlling the world. But he wasn't being anti-Semitic. Oh no.

Again, Jews remain the only group unable to call out racism against them. It's always a denial that it exists/islamophobia is a bigger problem/Jews are racist themselves/the implication that the actions of Israel mean Jews somehow deserve antisemitism/they're all powerful anyway because they're all rich bankers so undeserving of sympathy. Shameful.

SillySallySingsSongs · 01/08/2018 20:24

Again, Jews remain the only group unable to call out racism against them

Exactly this. It seems it's only us Jews who are told what is and isn't racism against us.

Seasawride · 01/08/2018 20:26

The only reason Jeremy is in power is because momentum put him there.

Momentum are a radical organisation that hate and insult and marginalise women and of course are racists themselves.

Corbyn is just a silly old fool who has protested all his entire adult life. Never run anything, literally anything, and is helping to destroy a party he never really supported anyway.

Now he has lost the students he’s finished.

Roll on the next election and a momentum wipe out and labour can cut this cancerous bind weed and emerge again as a sensible credible electable force.

God knows we need it.

Seasawride · 01/08/2018 20:27

SillySally

No it’s women in general too! Self ID don’t cha know. We don’t count either.

crunchymint · 01/08/2018 20:29

There is nothing revolutionary about Momentum.

Corbyn perhaps should read tweets properly and look at the pictures before commenting on tweets.

samG76 · 01/08/2018 20:36

Bingpot - in marxist theory jews are a redundant class who shouldn't really exist. That's why for them a-S isn't an issue. And Stalin, who is still a hero to many of JCs inner circle, was finalising plans to deport soviet Jews just before his death.

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 01/08/2018 20:41

Yep, make Stalin a hero... that’s a great idea. A guy that slaughtered millions....

careerontrack · 01/08/2018 20:47

Jews say that there’s anti Semitism in the party but no they’re wrong

Ruth smeeth and Luciana Berger are labour MP’s who have been victims of anti Semitism in the party, but no, they weren’t

Jewis MP’s are horribly abused in the party but no, they’re wrong

3 jewis news papers say there’s anti Semitism in the party but no, they’re wrong

Non Jewish Mp’s say there is anti Semitism in the party but no, they’re wrong

The Labour Party fail to elect a labour council and MP in one of the most heavily populated areas of the country - Barnet which should be a firm labour area. It fails because the 10’s of thousands of Jewish people believe that there’s anti Semitism in the party

But they’re wrong, all of them completely wrong.

Do me a favour, JC enables anti Semitism and takes NO action but it’s ok, everyone is making it up and he’s one of the good guys. Get a grip.

DesignStatement · 01/08/2018 20:47

It's a case of here we go again. Anybody who criticises the state of Israel is accused of anti semitism.

caroldecker · 01/08/2018 20:47

So Corbyn supports a picture that is so anti-semitic that Mumsnet won't allow on the site and has taken less than 30 seconds to delete. I will try a Guardian link

caroldecker · 01/08/2018 20:47

minutes, not seconds

samG76 · 01/08/2018 20:51

Design - no one has mentioned israel in about 50 posts in relation to JC. This is all about anti Semitic murals, accusations of Jews being all powerful, controlling the media, etc, and the harassment of Jewish MPs (mainly female, as it happens)

Seasawride · 01/08/2018 20:52

There is nothing revolutionary about momentum

I disagree with you on that one point op. I think it’s pretty revolutionary to try and erase the female gender and reduce the experience of being born a woman such that any man with a penis can identify as a woman and be counted as one by society.

I think that’s pretty bloody revolutionary.

Seasawride · 01/08/2018 20:53

Design

You don’t really understand the term anti Semitic really do you

SillySallySingsSongs · 01/08/2018 20:53

It's a case of here we go again. Anybody who criticises the state of Israel is accused of anti semitism

No one has said that
HTH

Slarti · 01/08/2018 20:59

I listen to Jewish people on this subject and if Jewish people say they find Corbyn and co anti Semitic and feel discriminated against, I believe them.

Genuine question. What about the Jewish people who say he isn't? You can't listen to or believe both.

samG76 · 01/08/2018 21:05

Slarti - you could spend years in jewish organisations without coming across a single member of JCs pet group. They tend to have very little connection with the mainstream community.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 01/08/2018 21:10

Roll on the next election and a momentum wipe out

Not so sure, the promise of free money will buy millions of votes.

WatermelonGlitter · 01/08/2018 21:10

Whatever Corbyn is (anti semitic or not, and I am prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt).. "From Auschwitz to Gaza"? really? He is at some level either very stupid, unbelievably naive, or extremely badly advised..and he needs to catch on very quickly if he wants to salvage what's left of his reputation.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 01/08/2018 21:15

OMG MN has censored that mural yet JC supported it. The mind boggles.

TheWizardofWas · 01/08/2018 21:17

Mainstream community, oh yes the right sort of Jews. Unlike Jewish Voices for Labour or Independent Jewish Vouces or Jewdas or or or....why are they marginalised?
