To be unsurprised that Corbyn is still being called anti-semitic?

Corbyn has been quite happy over the years to work with those who are clearly anti-Semitic. And he continues to do so. Whilst at the same time saying that he condemns all forms of racism, recently changed to say he condemns anti semitism. Does he not realise yet that people judge him by his actions, not his broad statements which are pretty meaningless? And until he clearly shows in his actions that he condemns anti semitism, these allegations will continue?

Thanks @MariaMadita I'd missed that. What a charmer... that essentially boiled down to 'here are all the wonderful things I've done for other people to prove what a good person I am to excuse my lack of concern for antisemitism'. Got it, user.

derxa · 02/08/2018 19:32

user You are a saint.

Seasawride · 02/08/2018 19:37

And a bloody busy one! ‘With my magic tights I save the world’

I saved a cat from drowning in 1985 and I still dine out on that one.

Seasawride · 02/08/2018 19:39

my brothers liver went to a rabbi

Ummmm ok

user1471450935 · 02/08/2018 20:21

I am 49. I lost my brother 30 years ago. I did loads as student. Then spent 5 years as an unpaid union rep.
Unlike seasawride I have only voted Labour once in my life. Always voted SDP or Lib Dem. Then the coalitiion wiped out the local Lib Dem group, so no candidate to vote for. Leaflet dropped for greens, but no local candidate. So Labour, UKIP or Tory on ballot papee. So voted Labour

Justanotherlurker · 02/08/2018 20:23

Can someone explain why the poster below is ranting about all the charitable work they do for minorities when this thread is not about their personal endeavours or these particular groups of people? Seems like a spectacular derail.

Virtue signalling and backpedaling whilst trying to still be an anti-racist

user1471450935 · 02/08/2018 20:25

Also funnily enough not one of our extended family ever mentions Jewish issues or any of our numerous friends. Who are Labour, Green, UKiP and Tory voters.
So maybe I am just the honest one, and admits to what I truly believe most people do and vote for personal reasons.

Justanotherlurker · 02/08/2018 20:27

Unlike seasawride I have only voted Labour once in my life.

So how does your fear of brexit tie into being anti blair and pro corbyn.

You only have to look at Corbyn's public voting record and his recent use of the 3 line whip etc to know where his principals really lie.

How do you feel with far right organisations publically backing JC in the last election because of his friends who are politely put anti-zionist

Or are you going to try and virtue signal out of this..

Seasawride · 02/08/2018 20:28

You have been honest. My late fil didn’t like black people as he called them. He was honest but he wasn’t right.

user1471450935 · 02/08/2018 20:29

Last one there where Tory voters and names from here on another thread who happily said Dianne Abbott only got her job, as she was the jumped up secretary who shagged her boss.
Thats sexist and racist for you

Seasawride · 02/08/2018 20:33

Corbyn was always anti Europe becaise he’s anti everything except a cause.

Anyone afraid of Brexit should not vote for momentum. Granted the Tories got us into this situation but if you think momentum will sort it you are deluded.

I voted for Blaire and with all his bad judgment over the Middle East I would have him back or any of his front bench to sort this mess out in a heartbeat.

Justanotherlurker · 02/08/2018 20:34

So maybe I am just the honest one, and admits to what I truly believe most people do and vote for personal reasons.

I will give you that, no one ever goes into the voting booth only thinking of other people, there is always a personal element as to how they will do well out of it, otherwise political discussion would be vastly different.

The "fuck you ive got mine" mantra applies across the board on some level, that is a given.

Justanotherlurker · 02/08/2018 20:38

This is pure flailing now, you make some valid points interspersed with random whataboutery and virtue signalling.

You can admit your original comment was slightly ironic coming from and ardent labour supporter, had you admitted being BNP/UKIP you would have got away with it as it would have been expected.

Introspection is a powerful mindset to have

Seasawride · 02/08/2018 20:45

Dianne certainly shagged him and she’s incompetent but a jumped up secretary? Hmm

Justanotherlurker · 02/08/2018 20:51

Corbyn was always anti Europe becaise he’s anti everything except a cause.

He is just anti west hence his stumbling over condemning Russia, we are in a situation were the vocal left have been playing guilt by association, muck raking through twitter facebook etc that now that game is the norm and its starting to hurt the them personally its considered a smear.

Corbyn has become such a man of principal that he can be what his supporters want him to be, hence why every time we have any anti-labour/corbyn posts we have people like Ghost and others posting endless whataboutery and yet those same posters are all over the brexit posts being pro remain, and we have situations where a hard left poster somehow supports minorities until they are insignificant minority as the numbers don't add up i am sure they think they control the media/banking and just anti zionist

Yes I voted remain. We lost. I posted on brexit arms, that I accept it. Need to leave strongly support joining EFTA.
But was attacked by the likes of bearbehind so left. Making my anxiety worse.
Last general election wasn't about Brexit, to me, it was stopping your beloved Tory party wrecking my country and my kids future. If I could have I would have voted SNP. But in England so voted Labour.

I.dont hate Jews, I honestly have never thought about them when I vote.
Sorry. Just honest. Probably compared to you lot I am evil. Just not prepared to lie to fit in with the crowd.

MariaMadita · 02/08/2018 20:59

I agree. I also believe that the best of a bad bunch (who that actually is obviously depends on person opinion...) is a valid voting decision.

I actually feel like your rants about how you seem to care about everyone (the elderly, near victim of honour killing, deportated Zimbabweans, breast cancer sufferers, Muslims, Sikhs etc...) but Jewish people (because you're not Jewish) much more jarring / dishonest.

I'm obviously assuming you're not an elderly Muslim who also happens to be a Sikh from Zimbabwe with breast cancer who was nearly the victim of an honour killing... (?)

Which makes it seem like there's one group you didn't care about. Because you're not like them.

When you clearly care about many other groups you're not a part of either...

Anyhow.

Many Tories are racist and sexist, I agree.

But that doesn't give people like Corbyn (or Abbott) carte blanche to be racist themselves...

Walkingdeadfangirl · 02/08/2018 21:01

WTF has this thread to do with the Tories? Corbyn isn't anti-Semitic because you know ... the Tories.

Corbynasties will do anything to distract from Jeremy's racism.

Justanotherlurker · 02/08/2018 21:02

Dianne certainly shagged him and she’s incompetent but a jumped up secretary?

Dianne is shite, widely accepted across the political spectrum even before she became a member of the front bench and ill, but there is a lot of IDPOL being used in defence of criticism.

Its another form of mental gymnastics of being anti neoliberal and supporting someone who is neoliberal to the core. (private schools, fear of gangs, white nurses etc)

The rise of the far right and flailing and double think of the left is not because of the bogey man of the right wing media, it has not risen in a vacuum, the left are just as much to blame, people pinning their hopes on Thornbury winning back the working class vote are severely misguided. It's a shit show all round

Justanotherlurker · 02/08/2018 21:17

But was attacked by the likes of bearbehind so left. Making my anxiety worse.

I'm going to be harsh but starting on a sympathy leaning is not conductive to a reasonable discussion and is somewhat becoming a meme, however I am sorry for your increase in anxiety.

Last general election wasn't about Brexit, to me, it was stopping your beloved Tory party wrecking my country and my kids future. If I could have I would have voted SNP. But in England so voted Labour.

I hate to break it to you but they are not my beloved Tory party, I voted remain, along with a vast selection of Tories and they had the right wing media behind them such as the FT, Economist, Times, Daily Mail on Sunday etc etc, it is not a right left issue and that's before we look at the irony of being pro SNP and anti Brexit.

Sorry. Just honest. Probably compared to you lot I am evil. Just not prepared to lie to fit in with the crowd.

I don't think you have a grasp the irony in this comment and still try and paint Tories as the coming of the 4 horsemen

Justanotherlurker · 02/08/2018 21:25

Corbynasties will do anything to distract from Jeremy's racism.

Shush, all us opponents are Daily Mail/Tory/Russian bots, its nothing more than a right wing smear, can't you remember that someone wrote a book and mentioned cameron fucked a pigs head, what about Brexit being a right wing issue, how about the rise in racism because of brexit and ignore the rise in anti semitism in a demographic that labour panders to because of identity politics.

Its just criticism of a sovereign state, its the tories fault Corbyn is shit and labour has lost the working class!!

MrsAidanTurner · 02/08/2018 21:46

Just dipped back into this thread, to see a liver went to a rabbi.

Mumsnet never ceases to amaze me.

Seasawride · 02/08/2018 22:06

AidenTurner

I know.

I agree with everything lurker posts.

And user honestly no point engaging. You lost me at sheltering victims of honour killings

MariaMadita · 02/08/2018 22:07

That's maybe a bit inappropriate..
But koshering liver (to eat) is somewhat complicated and rather elaborate, isn't it...?

Anyhow,.I don't think any politician's sexual prowess should matter... As long as it's consensual and safe (obviously).

Well, and privately speculating may obviously be interesting if the politician happens to be attractive...Wink

Anyhow, I feel like there is no connection between these topics and Corbyn at least condoning (if not encouraging...) anti-Semitism.

Wh
Btw, why would anyone want someone extremely anti-Western as the leader of "their" Western country?Confused

derxa · 02/08/2018 22:18

Btw, why would anyone want someone extremely anti-Western as the leader of "their" Western country I don't get it either. Can't you Labour people get rid of the old goat. He's just an embarrassment.
