Well she was an actress, so she wouldn't want a "quiet life" would she? As a B rate actress, unlikely at her age to hit the big time movie star status. Joining the Royals was an alternative way of being one of the most famous women in the world.

I dont give a stuff about the Markles but it's v funny if he's claiming Diana wouldn't treat her family in this way. She was queen of 'non-speakers' - mother, Stepmother, brother, sisters and any amount of friends and lovers. Meghan must have been taking lessons.

Why? Why should her family shut up? She never shut up before, did she? She spent years telling the world how perfectly wonderful she was, turning virtue-signalling into a career...and now, when anyone has anything to say about her it has to be sychophantic drivel or nothing?

It's extremely clear that Markle basically dropped everyone (including her family) when she - to her mind - hit the "big time" with the only regular acting job of her career (as a secondary character in a second-rate TV show'. Every single article/book, even by hyper-fans like Andrew Morton, have said that she did this. She basically climbed to fame and dumped anyone no longer useful to her.

There was not one single person at her OTT wedding that she's known for more than 5 years...except her mother. She didn't even invite uncles & cousins who have helped her in her career and have never, ever spoken publically about her.

She used her father in the past when it suited her image to do so.....smarmy twitter messages to him on Father's Day thanking him for the "Markle nose" (the same one she's tried to have remodelled, by the way). All part of the Markle brand to be a publicly loving daughter. Odd then that she made no effort whatsoever to introduce her darling Daddy to her famous boyfriend - the same daddy who paid for her expensive education and bankrupted himself in the process.

Prince Harry has never even met his father-in-law. Think about that. No effort from Markle, who spends £10k on outfits to attend Famine Memorial services and charity events, to fly her father over and put him up - remember there was a full 18 months before he ever said even one word to the press. Indeed, Kensington Palace put out a statement on his behalf when they got engaged.

This is a despicable way for her to behave towards the father she's so ostentatiously used for favourable PR in the past.

Why people fawn all over this obvious narcissist, I have no idea. She's clearly only ever been interested in self-promotion as her half-hearted, bizarrely over-hyped "humanitarianism" efforts in the past prove.

She is reaping what she's sown, quite honestly.

Markle and Diana do have a lot in common...both pretentious, narcisstic opportunists using other people as props for their image as "humanitarians".

Diana did at least have some element of sincerity, though. Markle has none.

I saw the headline - didn't read the article, but like you OP, I thought "FFS - leave the girl alone! Her life is different now - she can't just pop across for a cuppa whenever she feels like it" - and the family comes across as miserable greedy gets just from the headline alone.

I literally have no idea what you're talking about, because I've not heard anything about her family. I listen to R4 constantly, watch Ch4 and BBC news and occasionally read a paper. I'm still clueless. And happy about that.

Karyatide it may come as a surprise but their are companies that remove any negative comments and articles from the internet. So you may not get accurate information about someone, just the image they want to present to the world.

Yes glom, I'm with you really, woke early, noticed the Mail headline and thought her family sound utterly vile and should leave her alone. So that's about all I know. I'm stunned by the vitriol on here towards a woman never met and unknown to most who as far as I know has done no harm to anyone. Bewildering.
