I’m not so sure. I think it could all be resolved by giving the dad an allowance, after all they can afford it. He is her father after all and did his best for her. The other members are her half siblings and are related to her. I really think MM is making a big mistake by giving them enough rope to hang themselves. I think they will inflict damage that will be irreversible.

ScrumpyCrack · 29/07/2018 13:01

How was this never managed properly in the very beginning though?

It can’t be a massive surprise to her that her dad and sister are like this. It’d be one thing if she’d included them from the very start, Harry had visited them multiple times and all seemed fine then all of a sudden they started talking to the press. But she’s purposefully excluded them from the beginning and it’s very clear why.

I’d have thought when they first got together, it would have come up in conversation and the palace could have put provisions in place like gagging orders. They don’t seem the type to refuse a payout. I know if I were to marry Harry (I’m still holding out for this Grin), there’d be a few cousins of mine that would come out of the woodwork with photos and stories if there was any sniff of money on offer!

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 29/07/2018 13:03

If you havent heard from yiur daughter in ten weeks saying "it would be better if she died" is probably not the way to get her to get in touch.

There was a poster on another thread saying sge couldnt understand why harry didnt encourage meghan to get in touch. THIS IS WHY!!!!

How does he know what Diana would have approved of , given that diana was a member of british arostrocy from birth, and knew all the royal peotocols and didnt actally break as many as people think, oh appart from having affairs with james hewitt and will carling, unlike mr markle shed make a fuss about the lenght of meghans dresses, and say things like i think my daughter in law would be better dead.

As for her half sister and cousins wow

raisedbyguineapigs · 29/07/2018 13:04

As if. The man pissed his own money up the wall by the looks of it. They are all vultures. Once you start giving them money, it will never stop. I think she is doing exactly the right thing giving them rope to hang themselves. So what if her half siblings are related to her? They shouldn't be running to the DM all the time should they? They will slink off soon enough back to their scummy lives.

Gosh, I am so surprised that she didn't invite these charming people to her wedding.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 29/07/2018 13:05

Meghan is a fake and a bit of a goldigger hello Samantha

ScrumpyCrack · 29/07/2018 13:07

The article says he won $750,000 on the lottery and used it to put her through boarding school and then pay her $30,000 per year university fees.

Juells · 29/07/2018 13:07

Considering what Harry has had to put up with over the years, I'd say that he and MM don't give a FF what her family spout. Far from embarrassing her, perhaps it's part of what bonds her and H together?

Her family are batshit crazy, and jealous.

sheldonesque · 29/07/2018 13:10

I wouldn't be rewarding that kind of mewing by giving him an allowance. All the others would then want it. A dignified silence is the way to go.

Doing your best for your child means doing it all their life. Doing his best now would mean shutting his trap. He has, I believe, damaged any chance of a relationship with her for ever more.

The pish about Diana was hilarious.

MrsMint · 29/07/2018 13:14

The palace should never have given permission for the marriage to go ahead in the first place. There is a reason why Royal marriages (on the whole) are kept within the aristocracy: they have been raised to act in a certain way from birth and know the "drill".

StatisticallyChallenged · 29/07/2018 13:16

Why on earth should she give people who are being abusive towards her an allowance? I don't think children have any obligation to support their parents anyway, but when they're behaving like this? Heck no!

If she really is a golddigger - perfectly possible of course - then I very much doubt she would have chosen to ban her family from the wedding. She'd have been trying to make herself look as normal and inoffensive as possible - even without their subsequent behaviour not having family there was going to lead to some discussions between her/Harry/the Royal Family which she'd actively seek to avoid if it was all about gold digging.

Mind you, I don't get why a plain old gold digger would target the royals anyway. A far nicer life would be available by finding a garden variety rich guy instead; I reckon Pippa has a nicer life than Kate for example. Not saying either were gold diggers btw, just contrasting their lives.

Hahaha. I'm dying laughing at this nonsense.

Because Diana (bona fide aristo) worked out so very well. Oh wait.

Harry's taken my love. Move on. Grin

MrsMint · 29/07/2018 13:18

NaughtToThreeSadOnions

I'm guessing this is a deep and meaningful reference to some soap opera or something, I am sure Meghan probably watches it, the Queen not so much...

TwoBlueShoes · 29/07/2018 13:18

I think it's well known that Princes William and Harry have absolutely no love for the British tabloid press. Quite understandable really. They give the absolute minimum they can get away with, official portraits on special occasions, that sort of thing. They would never sit down for an interview with the tabloids and the Markles wont be endearing themselves by doing so.

NorthernLurker · 29/07/2018 13:23

I think keeping quiet on Meghan's part is the best course of action. She talks to him, he will tell the press everything she says.

MrsMint · 29/07/2018 13:23

LaurieMarlow

Thanks for the laugh at your "logic".

In the case of Diana it was the fault of the Royal family and how they treated Diana, it was not her fault. Whereas it's the complete opposite in this case.

SavannahSky · 29/07/2018 13:24

So if you avoid the daily mail where else are all these stories??

I'm not seeing them

PeakPants · 29/07/2018 13:25

There is a reason why Royal marriages (on the whole) are kept within the aristocracy: they have been raised to act in a certain way from birth and know the "drill".

Haaaaaaahaaaaaaahaaaaaa. You mean like the toe-sucking, affair-having, press-blabbing, phone-sex-recording, book-writing fellow members of the Royal Family? Like someone said, Diana was the biggest liability ever, giving exclusive interviews, blabbing stuff to the press at every given moment. She was also a member of the aristocracy. Prince Andrew has been accused of having sex with underaged girls fgs. It's not like they as a family are in any way whiter than white. Scandal dogs them. This is nothing by comparison- just a twattish dad saying that his daughter should be more grateful.

Clionba · 29/07/2018 13:28

Well SavannahSky you're finding out about it from this thread!

Tomatoesrock · 29/07/2018 13:29

I hate to think of anyone as low but they are really showing themselves to be. It must be awful for her. I hope it dies down and she goes nc for good. I hope others ignore them too and their marriage gets through it. Sad

PeakPants · 29/07/2018 13:30

She pretends to be all lovely and nice, but at the end of the day she has snubbed her own father

Get. To. Fuck. Seriously. If you are on here, you will have seen plenty of evidence of how parents often treat their kids like crap growing up and the horrible effect that has on them. Wanting low contact with family members (who talk about you like you're a piece of shit in the press) says NOTHING about what someone is like as a person.

MrsMint · 29/07/2018 13:31

StatisticallyChallenged

Well she was an actress, so she wouldn't want a "quiet life" would she? As a B rate actress, unlikely at her age to hit the big time movie star status. Joining the Royals was an alternative way of being one of the most famous women in the world.

SavannahSky · 29/07/2018 13:34

I'm not finding out much at all from this thread!

StatisticallyChallenged · 29/07/2018 13:34

That's not the definition of gold digger though, is it?
