Getting dark in East Sussex and some rumbles of thunder. Been watching the lightning map obsessively and it looks as though we might actually get some rain here at last!! I can't wait!

Storm4star · 27/07/2018 16:22

Love our excitement over the rain Grin

Who would have thought we'd be writing all this 6 months ago!

murasaki · 27/07/2018 16:23

It hasn't rained for so long that the petrichor, which I normally love, was almost too much.

Proper rain in Croydon now after that false start.

MaureenMLove · 27/07/2018 16:23

Edwin- get thee out there for a rain dance and send it on it's way about 5 miles down the A2 please!!

Crunchymum · 27/07/2018 16:23

Just had a heavy shower here in North London. Lovely!!!

MrsPreston11 · 27/07/2018 16:24

www.lightningmaps.org/

One of my favourite sites once storms are close :)

funnylittlefloozie · 27/07/2018 16:24

How can it be raining on tapdancingmum in Bucks, and NOTHING on me?? Is the weather discriminating against me?

McPeppaMcYumPig · 27/07/2018 16:25

ITS STARTED AGAIN...very lightly though but yay 😁

runwithme · 27/07/2018 16:25

Edwin it poured in Lewisham on Tuesday around 5. Did you get any then? I'm further down but nothing here.

MrsMozart · 27/07/2018 16:25

It rained here yesterday for a brief stint - the two Rotties sat in the kitchen doorway and watched it Grin

Storm4star · 27/07/2018 16:26

And....it's stopped again! Come back beautiful rain!

edwinbear · 27/07/2018 16:26

Maureen I’m doing the rain dance and blowing hard in your direction Grin let me know if it works!

Crunchymum · 27/07/2018 16:26

Not only have we had rain (albeit a heavy shower and now it's stopped) I've also learnt what petrichor means Grin

TeenTimesTwo · 27/07/2018 16:27

20 mins, now stopped. South Hants.

edwinbear · 27/07/2018 16:27

runwithme we were in Margate on Tues so missed it - I’m cursed.....

Piggywaspushed · 27/07/2018 16:28

Don't worry floozie, I am in Beds, too. As ever, we are sandwiched in between all the weather.

So HOT!

wagil · 27/07/2018 16:29

Another few piddling drops in Wimbledon, and one puff of wind.

Dh has snoozed his way through it.

strawberrypenguin · 27/07/2018 16:29

Central Hants and has rain here too - it's lovely!

Member745520 · 27/07/2018 16:30

Cambs/Suffolk border here too but I'm not expecting any relief til about 8p.m. Every time there's a weather map on tv I put it on pause and drool in anticipation at those lovely dark blue patches all the way up East Anglia from about 8 til 1 in the morning...

I know that lightning strike site and love whizzing around the globe to see what's happening where, and sometimes zoom in as far as possible. Have visited Pyongyang and seen the volcanic eruption areas (including smoke|) in central America and Hawaii recently.

But I do have other parts to my life as well Grin

murasaki · 27/07/2018 16:30

Hmm, the sun is back out.

LarkDescending · 27/07/2018 16:31

Well that was very short-lived! Less than 5 mins rain in N London. Sending it northwards to those who need it Smile.

Snowspeckledeyelashes · 27/07/2018 16:32

Essex/Suffolk boarder here and blue skies and boiling hot sunshine still. I’m praying for rain soon, I’m so fed up of feeling like I’m covered in treacle, I’m desperate to stand out in the rain, although I will want the clouds to disperse tonight so we can see the blood moon!

Mooey89 · 27/07/2018 16:32

Praise be 🙌🙌🙌

Spoke too soon ☹️ Sat in the garden with the dog watching the wet weather miss us completely.

justicewomen · 27/07/2018 16:32

Thirding the desire for rain in Suffolk. Thermometer showing 35 degrees and no breeze
