To not understand people who dont drink hot drinks (lighthearted bit of fun, come join in)

I know i am being unreasonable.. everyone just likes what they like, im not daft...

But i cant imagine not having a hot drink. I drink both coffee and tea and try most of the new fandangled options that are forever coming onto the market. I use hot drinks as a way to relax and socialise. Almost all my friends drink hot drinks so its a bit alien to me to not have them..

What thing(s) do you absolutely love but cant get your head around other people disliking??

We have loads of work men here at the moment and the plumber doesn't drink tea or coffee. A plumber! All of the other guys are fulfilling their stereotype (strong tea, half of it sugar) but the plumber just has water. To those of you that don't like hot drinks, what do you dip your biscuits in?

I don't understand not wanting to travel. I love travelling and am very curious about other countries and their history and old ruins/relics. I also feel that people who don't read or eat chocolate are missing out.

Peoplemaynoticeus · 27/07/2018 09:20

I don't like anything to drink other than water. Self confessed weirdo Grin

RainySeptember · 27/07/2018 09:20

ShotsFired that's amazing, maybe a page a day? I take my kindle and get through loads!

I can understand people not liking cats and dogs. In some countries they're not considered pets as too unhygienic for the home.

I can also understand why some people dislike hot drinks but, if you are going to drink them, why decaffeinated? What's not to love about lovely lovely caffeine?

Agree with pp about tv. A bit like reading, there's so much choice, so many genres and channels, how can you say that you don't like any of it?

SuzanneVaguer · 27/07/2018 09:23

shotsfired glad I didn't see that thread- I'd have been apoplectic. One magazine Confused

We live on tea here, but this summer it has been difficult. It's too hot for tea, but I am getting caffeine withdrawal headaches every morning (I don't drink loads- probably four cups a day). I have had no tea for past three days, as it's been over 30 every day.

LostNAlone · 27/07/2018 09:24

Somw good responses.. glad no one took my thread to heart though.. be boring if we were all the same.

I agree about reading. I love a good book.

Tv too. As one of you said, i dont understand how people pride themselves on not watchinf tv..i think our tele may be our most expensive purchase 🙈

I love other peoples dogs but after a few bad experiences as a child im a little weary and not sure id have my own. Animals/pets in general though!

I don't watch television- spare time is scarce, and I'd rather read!

PaintedHorizons · 27/07/2018 09:25

Sensitive teeth??

Mousefunky · 27/07/2018 09:27

I do love coffee but fully accept it wouldn’t be to everyone’s taste. It’s bitter as hell. I’m not keen on tea anymore but used to drink it by the bucketload, started as a young child having ‘sweet tea’ made by my Nan (probably had about 6 sugars in it Grin. I can see why they wouldn’t be to everyone’s taste.

PuppyMonkey · 27/07/2018 09:31

I can’t stand coffee but I drink enough tea for at least 20 people so I think that makes up for it. Grin

I see we have an example of the “not watching telly as a badge of honour” syndrome on this thread. Time is “too scarce” to watch telly but reading is ok. Why is reading better than watching telly? Says who?

SeraphinaDombegh · 27/07/2018 09:31

Ok, I'll bite wrt dogs. I love dogs, but I can see why others wouldn't! They're smelly, you have to clean up their (extremely foul) shit, they shed hairs everywhere, their breath reeks, their food is minging and attracts flies, they show their affection by licking you, they can be noisy and large, and they have the physical potential to kill.

And this from someone who adores dogs!

anitagreen · 27/07/2018 09:33

I drink around 8 cups of tea a day my husband drinks soft cold drinks or fizzy drinks here and there. Me personally I don't understand how you could not wake up and straight away not want a cup of tea?

saganorenscarandcoat · 27/07/2018 09:35

People who don't drink tea or coffee
People who don't drink alcohol
People who don't like cats and dogs
People who don't like chocolate

All weird (in my humble opinion)

confusedandemployed · 27/07/2018 09:41

Love coffee, can't stand tea or hot choc.

Am also suspicious of people not liking animals. For the record I know my dog honks a bit but he's mine, I love his slight stinkiness. Now my mate's dogs PROPER stink 😷 but they're still lovely.

x2boys · 27/07/2018 09:43

i dont like hot drinks , i will very occasionally have a cup of tea but i prefer cold drinks, im happy to drink water ,like a pp dh hates cheese it causes no end of problems when ordering food.

blinkineckmum · 27/07/2018 09:47

Swimming. The most wonderful feeling in the world to me!

vodkaredbullgirl · 27/07/2018 09:59

Got to have a cup of tea when i get up, only problem i have, my dog wants 1 too. If he is upstairs he can hear the kettle go on and he is down like a shot.

Costacoffeeplease · 27/07/2018 10:00

I don’t understand the obsession with a ‘cuppa’ (shudder) or ‘brew’ (worse) I drink water during the day and wine or g&t in the evening

CoalTit · 27/07/2018 10:09

How does your dog take his tea, Vodka? Do you put it in a bowl? Or a teacup? My mind is boggling at the idea

LostNAlone · 27/07/2018 10:17

My grandads dog loves tea too. Hes straight there when the kettle boils..he has a small cup full in a bowl, cooled. however he also loves "smoking".. 2 of my uncles smoke and if the dog hears them pick up their things hes right at the back door. Obviously the dog doesnt smoke but he will stand with the uncles outside and chase the ash as it drops...

vodkaredbullgirl · 27/07/2018 10:17

milk 1 sugar lol, he tries to drink out my cup if i put it down on the table

Doman · 27/07/2018 10:29

I know someone who doesn't like going to bed (and she's not a toddler, she's in her 40s). I simply can't wrap my head around that. My bed is probably my favourite place on the entire planet.

Atalune · 27/07/2018 10:33

My favourite place in the world is my bed!!!

@doman. Your friend is NUTS

I love my bed so much.

Happymummy1991 · 27/07/2018 10:34

I dont like tea or coffee and I don't like pets Grin
Just don't like the taste of tea or coffee, I'll have the occasional hot chocolate though. And I don't particularly dislike pets but I definitely wouldn't have one. I can't see the appeal in looking after an animal at all.
Oh and I don't like cheese Grin
I must be a freak of nature I guess.

Seasawride · 27/07/2018 10:35

I do like reading but I dislike intensity the attitude that if you don’t like reading you are thick. It’s s hobby like running or swimming so nothing to feel smug about. It can be antisocial too having your nose always in s book I remember my mum was an avid reader and spent all holidays reading and ignoring her children. I would never do that. Who wants to read instead of playing in the sea with your kids. Utterly selfish.

Hot drinks personal choice.

I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t like wine or animals especially my dog. Wierdoes Grin

backaftera2yearbreak · 27/07/2018 10:36

The thought of drinking a hot drink makes my stomach turn. Vile!
