to ask what you're enjoying most about this heatwave

... on the assumption that you are! This isn't the thread for negativity! Mine are:

• knowing what clothes to wear each day
• sitting out in the evening and talking with DP instead of watching TV/doing admin
• actually drinking Pimms rather than having a bottle going fusty at the back of the cupboard
• being able to confidently plan outings/outdoor social events

I went camping a few weeks ago. It was a great holiday which felt like going abroad minus any expense or hassle.

The entire time, I left the tent unzipped without ever worrying whether it might rain in. No mud to battle. No thought of whether the tent might leak. No wondering whether we'd be able to get any wet clothes dry enough so we wouldn't run out before the ten-day holiday was up. I was still cold at night (I am ALWAYS cold at night when I camp), but only slightly.

My only preoccupation was moving the cooler around to be sure it was always in the shade.

oh and NO SLUGS so I can go out barefoot to get the washing in at 10pm without a torch.
