... on the assumption that you are! This isn't the thread for negativity! Mine are:

  • knowing what clothes to wear each day
  • sitting out in the evening and talking with DP instead of watching TV/doing admin
  • actually drinking Pimms rather than having a bottle going fusty at the back of the cupboard
  • being able to confidently plan outings/outdoor social events

Just knowing it won’t last forever, and the thought of rain making me happier than I could’ve ever imagined! 😂

HelloFreedom · 24/07/2018 20:42

No muddy dog to clean
Kids can live in 1 layer of clothes
Summer dresses and sandals
Outdoor living
Washing dries so fast on the line
Everyone seems less hungry in the summer, happy to live on salads and ice lollies
The sunshine does wonders for days when my mood is low (depression/anxiety sufferer)

lljkk · 24/07/2018 20:44

Not needing to mow the lawn
Can leave washing line up for days on end
Can leave parasol out for days on end
no worries about wet hair making me feel chilled

2up2manydown · 24/07/2018 20:47

Early morning warmth, not uncomfortably hot yet but you can feel it’s going to be a hot day and it’s a lovely feeling.

Wearing shorts and light dresses makes me feel young!

HolyMountain · 24/07/2018 20:50

It’s not a heatwave ,it’s just what Summer should be like. We have such rubbish weather we’ve forgotten what to expect at this time of year.

I love all of it.

Anyway

PerkingFaintly · 24/07/2018 20:52

Washing doesn't have to be finished off indoors.
No pain in feet and hands.
Sunshine makes me optimistic!

TuesdaysAreGrim · 24/07/2018 20:52

Um no, not in this country it's not. We aren't equipped for it.

RallyAnnie · 24/07/2018 20:55

Washing drying on the line in no time.

Lawn not growing so no mowing.

Eating at our outside table regularly - like more this summer than in the previous four years we've owned it.

Warm, still, clear evenings in which my daughter has learned to ride a bike.

Not having to lug an extra layer or rain jacket with me everywhere I go.

I'm also grateful that I'm not currently working because I would hate to be sitting in an office in this heat.

HopeSpringsEternal2017 · 24/07/2018 21:00

Tanned legs!

I've never had anything but pasty white legs before I can go away for 2 weeks and come back with my legs just as white as before x

The80sweregreat · 24/07/2018 21:04

Washing drying almost instantly. The rest of it is pants! Bring back the colder summers!

MidLifeCrisis2017 · 24/07/2018 21:08

Less housework
Eating outside every mealtime
Planning to do things outside and actually being able to do them
Brown legs
Fewer cravings for crap food

Claireshh · 24/07/2018 21:09

Cold wine?

Cherrysherbet · 24/07/2018 21:11

I live near the beach, so swimming in the sea has been fabulous! Long may it continue!

WhoWants2Know · 24/07/2018 21:11

The heat is making me crave huge amounts of watermelon, mangetout, carrots and peppers, so I'm getting 20 a day instead of 5

Fooferella · 24/07/2018 21:13

I left my jacket at work last Monday and it's still there. I've gone jacketless for an entire week!

HolyMountain · 24/07/2018 21:13

Um no, not in this country it's not. We aren't equipped for it.

It’s how Summers are supposed to be; hot and dry.

Sweetiedarlingletmein · 24/07/2018 21:17

Being able to dry washing outside and for it to be dry in an hour.
Getting me and dd dressed takes about 30 seconds. Pants on, dress on, done!

theSnuffster · 24/07/2018 21:29

I like being able to dry all the washing on the washing line... No clothes hanging around the house and on the radiators!

I love it when I go outside late evening to water the plants and the patio is still warm underfoot.

I am struggling with the heat to be honest, it's so hot and sticky at work, I constantly feel like I need a shower. And I've been cursed with a face that goes bright red like a tomoato as soon as I get a bit too warm, not a good look. But I still much prefer it to wet and cold weather!

puppymouse · 24/07/2018 21:35

A constantly positive frame of mind.
Having a nice tan
Calm sleepy animals
Using our front decking as a second outdoor sitting room
Nice views and clear blue skies
Eating more fruit

Peoplemaynoticeus · 24/07/2018 21:35

Going to the beach every day, wearing flip flops, drying on the line, no coats.

Lynne1Cat · 24/07/2018 21:39

Getting the washing dry on the line.

Having all the windows and doors open.

Sitting outside until 9ish

TuesdaysAreGrim · 24/07/2018 22:04

It’s how Summers are supposed to be; hot and dry.

I repeat, not in this country they're not, not for this period of time.

FrogFairy · 24/07/2018 22:09

Dying washing outside. Aside from that I feel like I am living in the scorching bowels of hell. I am very much not a hot weather person.

TSSDNCOP · 24/07/2018 22:16

The smells-I love driving with open windows and smelling the hay, roses, trees

Just pulling on the minimum clothes and a pair of sandals

Using my new garden furniture and dozing off in the warm afternoon

DC playing outside

I could live like this every summer

9amTrain · 24/07/2018 22:20

At this point it has no positive for me.
