To ask what important things you have accidentally put in the washing machine

I can now add passport laundering, debit card laundering, and oyster card laundering to my CV, all in one day, right before I was supposed to go to the airport. I am still here, I was searching everywhere for these things and couldn’t find them only to realize, they got hot and went for a swim in the washing machine. Thankfully, the debit card is working, I tried it in the ATM and contactless. I haven’t tried the orchestra card, but I hope it’s OK. And I’m trying to dry out my passport. I googled and apparently I’m not the only one who has accidentally put a passport in the washing machine. Please reassure me and tell me about your experiences, and was everything OK in the end? A friend of mine said it was lucky I didn’t put my card in the dryer

My Fitbit went through a full cotton wash cycle and it was only when it started rattling around in the tumble dryer that I noticed it. I assumed I'd killed it, but it was still working. I clocked up a good few extra steps that day!

My MP3 player. Amazingly, it still worked afterwards. Headphones, ditto. My H washed the garage remote. It didn’t work afterwards and cost £80 for new one.

I've got a fiver spinning right now. It's my tip for doing the washing I reckon.

My brother put on a wash and only later found that he accidentally tumble dried his pet snake in the progress.

Needless to say it came out warm but very dead. He got no idea how it got there and is still devastated months later

I put a stick through the wash a couple of weeks ago. It was wrapped up in one of DD tshirts. Lucky it was quite a chunky stick so couldn’t fit through any of the holes and break my machine. I only noticed it after I heard it noisily clunking around in the tumble dryer.
