The crime has been commited, the victim has endured a horrific ordeal and injury, it goes without saying that people on this thread thinks that's disgusting/horrific/heartbreaking etc but we can't rewind time and prevent that crime occurring.
We CAN make our voices heard about trans women in female prisons to try and protect those females from having a crime commited against them - or do they not matter?

It matters because this person has been placed in a women’s prison and has access to the vulnerable women in there. One of whom he has assaulted violently.

It matters because the media is gaslighting us by reporting on this person as a woman.

It matters because this will cloud crime statistics to suggest women are committing these crimes.

It matters because a change in law is being proposed that will further enable men like this to be treated as women.

We are talking about the way statistics are reported. If the stats are skewed the police cannot profile correctly and work to keep the public safe.

We are talking about natal women in women’s prison, who have the right to feel safe.

We are talking about the destruction of the fabric of society, which will make rape and attacks like this more likely to happen not less because a minority of vociferous male bodied individuals hell bent on getting revenge on natal females are increasingly being given free reign.

I would have thought that as the crime was committed when this person was still identifying as male then it would have been recorded as such.

I also know that when recording crime stats it's not just male or female options that you can choose from... also (without wanting to be too outing) there are special "flags" for persons in this kind of situation. However to disclose the transgender fact without good reason can also be classed as an offence.

I want one of the 'but she is a woman don't ya know' brigade to explain the exact basis on which this person is a woman.

The Police can profile correctly. The records WILL NOT state that this person is female. It will show that they are transgender.
