Help! I have one dd. My mil has lived with us since we have been married.

She is a very strong woman and overruled me on everything. She sends me to bed if I sneeze.

When dd was 2 dh pissed off capturing butterflies in Africa and I havnt heard off him for years. Bastard. So mil got friendly with a wierd lady next door. She has big hair coils round her ears, writes books and has lots of kids.

I am concerned she is also involved in modern slavery as she has a woman living with her called Anna who does everything.

Anyway mil and this wierd Jo woman have colluded to send dd to a boarding school.

I'm a senior.... um... let's say Civil Servant. My boss was sacked in rather questionable circumstances after something went badly wrong at work. It was all hushed up and I was eased out too, as I had been his protégé. I haven't found retirement easy, not least because I have marital problems. Now, however, the high ups have asked me to do some work for them on the quiet. They treated me very shabbily before but I'm a patriot. I'm going to have to do it, am I not?

I'm a valet, recently hired by an eccentric English gentleman. He seems to enjoy travel, and in the last three weeks we have visited Egypt, India, and Hong Kong. Rather awkwardly, while in India, he seems to have picked up a widow of some sort. He's got this funny obsession with eating 'three square meals', and checking his watch.
I don't mind working for him, although keeping his shaving water at his very precise preferred temperature is a bit of a shitty joke. Any idea what's up with him, or is it just me who thinks he's odd?

I've lived in the same place for ages. I don't get out at all although it's been a bit less boring since I had DS. There must be more to life than this though, I've got to get away.

I'm also a civil servant, having been talent spotted during my naval service. I've been offered a promotion to a rather niche role. I think there are only six others doing this, but they might not all be alive. There's a lot of travel involved and other side benefits but I'm not sure what my next step would be, if I survive to make one. Should I accept?

My OH and I have been very happy together. We have one little DS and I'm pregnant with number two. However since my OH's best friend came to stay OH has been acting really strangely. He's now publicly accused me of having an affair with his best friend and said that the baby isn't his! I'm so embarrassed and worried about what he might do next. No body ever says no to him. Do you think he might come to his senses when the baby is born?

I'm pretty grown-up now - nearly 14! So when I met this lush guy at a party last night and fell in love with him, it seemed like a great idea to get married! Unfortunately, our families hate each other so we had to do it in secret (we actually had no plan for how this was going to work out - tbh we've only spoken for about 10 minutes). But this afternoon he got into a fight with my cousin and killed him and how everyone is really pissed off with him! Part of me thinks this is a red flag and this can only end in violence, but I'm so besotted with him that I literally can't live without him. WIBU to do something drastic? My father left me his whole, quite substantial, fortune. My brothers were annoyed, but I didn't let that trouble me. I decided to travel, and have had a splendid time. I befriended a young gentlewoman who had been seduced and abandoned, saw the pyramids, sailed down the Nile, encountered mummies, criminals and archaeologists. I have decided that henceforward my life, and my fortune, will be devoted to Egyptology - and one of the aforementioned archaeologists.

My dad keeps having dreams about a lighthouse and now wants to move the whole family (me, my mum and my weird adopted sister) from our lovely valley to some random uninhabited island in the middle of nowhere which may not even exist! He says you can see it on the map but my mum and me think that's just a speck of dirt. AIBU to wonder WTF we're all going to do there and how we're going to survive. My dad is no way qualified to keep a lighthouse - isn't there some kind of lighthouse authority who organises these things?!
