Help! I have one dd. My mil has lived with us since we have been married.

She is a very strong woman and overruled me on everything. She sends me to bed if I sneeze.

When dd was 2 dh pissed off capturing butterflies in Africa and I havnt heard off him for years. Bastard. So mil got friendly with a wierd lady next door. She has big hair coils round her ears, writes books and has lots of kids.

I am concerned she is also involved in modern slavery as she has a woman living with her called Anna who does everything.

Anyway mil and this wierd Jo woman have colluded to send dd to a boarding school.

Aibu to just want to move away with dd. Start again and have some fun? Grin

Guess the book and keep going. Grin

Dottierichardson · 18/07/2018 20:10

GaspOde Christie 'And then there were none'?

Dottierichardson · 18/07/2018 20:11

Dancing I'm stuck on yours!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 18/07/2018 20:13

Looks like everybody else remembers Aidan Turner in his towel - I certainly do!

Dancing, the only thing I can think of for yours is the story of Jacob and Rachel in the Bible but it's Rachel's father who marries Jacob off to Leah.

DancingDot · 18/07/2018 20:14

An additional clue ....

The CFs have only gone and told me that I have to make the wedding cake for their wedding. I hope it makes them all sick. I'm just off to make some cocoa.

ScreamingValenta · 18/07/2018 20:16

I'm good friends with the boy next door - we share a hobby and last summer we spent loads of time together. Lately, though, he seems more interested in my older sister. Everyone agrees she is by far the best looking one in our large family.

To make matters worse, we have been snowed in this Christmas - two of my sisters, my brother, my friend and I have become involved in a complex fantasy game, but my heart isn't really in it. I'd rather be helping on the family farm.

Last night we went to a party, and my older sister looked fabulous in a new dress, whereas I had to wear her cast off from last year, which didn't suit me at all. My friend ended up going off with her and practically ignored me.

Now no one can stop playing this game, even when we're supposed to be doing something really exciting, like fox hunting. I can't help thinking it's all getting dangerous.

I met a wonderful woman, she's my best friend's cousin. I'm worried she will go off me when she finds out I'm not who I say I am. Her mother already hates me because she found out I'm adopted and she's worried about my background. Now my best friend is threatening to tell my gf.

Dottierichardson · 18/07/2018 20:18

posted too soon:

now my best friend is threatening to tell my gf my secret. It's vitally important he doesn't. What should I do?

glamorousgrandmother · 18/07/2018 20:20

The Importance of Being Ernest?

MissLingoss · 18/07/2018 20:20

Screaming Peter's Room, Antonia Forest. Nicola speaking.

DrowsyDragon · 18/07/2018 20:22

Dancing is that like water for chocolate?

ScreamingValenta · 18/07/2018 20:22

MissLingoss I was confident that one would be identified with RMF already on the thread Grin.

DrowsyDragon · 18/07/2018 20:24

So my uncle gave me this ring and now I have to journey across the country with some of my friends, some of my uncle’s friends and some downright weirdos to destroy it. I’ve got a really bad feeling about this. AIBU?

glamorousgrandmother · 18/07/2018 20:25

Lord of the RIngs.

DancingDot · 18/07/2018 20:26

Drowsy YES!! Phew.

DrowsyDragon · 18/07/2018 20:28

Dancing I am so proud of myself, that one had been nagging at me!
Well done glamorous.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 18/07/2018 20:33

I've got a pretty good feeling about my situation! I've been stranded on a desert island with some other boys. I had a good idea about using a conch to keep our regular meetings running smoothly and on the back of that I've been elected leader! There are a couple of other boys I can count on to back me up and a good sort called Piggy who gives me useful advice. It's all going to be fine. It won't be long before our constant smoke signal attracts the rescuers.

Dottierichardson · 18/07/2018 20:34

Glamorous yes it is.

DrowsyDragon · 18/07/2018 20:34

Lord of the flies

Dottierichardson · 18/07/2018 20:34

Gasp0de 'Lord of the Flies'?

ScreamingValenta · 18/07/2018 20:34

We've just had Lord of the Rings ... now we have Lord of the Flies Grin

Dottierichardson · 18/07/2018 20:38

My best friend's a blonde, glamourous type who only dates men with money. She thinks my bfs are all losers. AIBU to drop her?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 18/07/2018 20:39

Yup!

MissLingoss · 18/07/2018 20:40

We have a large family to educate and establish in careers or good marriages. Unfortunately dh has had some money problems. DS1 has an independent fortune, and thinks this gives him the right to take charge of the household and boss everyone around. He has also become engaged to a very tiresome young woman who I don't think I shall ever be able to love as a daughter.

My brother asked me to have his daughter to stay, as he has to travel to S. America on official business. She has had an unconventional upbringing, and some of the things she does verge on impropriety, but she is a dear girl, and was a great support to me in a difficult time recently.

AIBU to wish ds would dump Miss Tiresome and marry my niece instead?
