The Trump-Putin Summit in Helsinki, coming so soon after Trump’s ally-crumbling display in Britain and at the EU, is still sinking in. Let’s just say: he’s in all kinds of shit. All the kompromat.

Sorry, didn't make it clear. He said Yes I did twice. To me, that was in answer to each question by the reporter.

Love that the queen wore gifts from the Obamas. Subtle but brilliant.

#Russia's state TV rushed to videotape Trump's speech notes, left on the podium.

There's picture proof of that. Unfuckingbelievable

I'm opening a book on which Republicans discover the 25th amendment this week.

Don't know which way most will jump, but I bet it gets mentioned...

Fox News’s Chris Wallace gives Putin the grilling Trump won’t
www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2018/07/16/fox-newss-chris-wallace-gives-putin-the-grilling-trump-wont/?utm_term=.0cf08053bf30

President Trump refuses to press Vladimir Putin on the questions pretty much every official in American government thinks he should. Luckily, there’s Fox News's Chris Wallace.
[...]
Perhaps the most notable exchange came toward the end, when Wallace probed Putin on why many of his critics wind up dead or near death. The most recent high-profile example of this is Sergei Skripal in Britain, an attack for which the Trump administration officially holds Russia responsible but Trump himself seems to view as an obstacle to making friends.

Putin, rather remarkably, compared these alleged assassinations to the assassinations of Americans such as President John F. Kennedy and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1960s.
[...]
At another tense point early in the interview, Wallace produced a copy of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s indictments of 12 Russian military intelligence officers from Friday. He detailed it briefly, and Putin began smirking — which Wallace noted. Then Wallace offered it to Putin, and Putin froze for a moment. Rather than accept the documents, he told Wallace to set them on the small table between them.
[...]
Wallace also pressed Putin on the idea that he had compromising information on Trump — which Putin, unlike in the news conference earlier Monday, flatly denied — and a video the Russian government released rather clearly appearing to show a nuclear missile striking Florida. Some have posited that it showed the missile striking near Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort.

Putin tried to pretend it wasn’t a provocation — and rather ridiculously that it wasn’t even Florida
[...]
It was the grilling you’d expect Trump to have given. It was all the questions Russian journalists can’t ask. And it was a marked contrast to earlier in the day

Sounds like Fox want to find a new candidate. At least after this past few days it probably won't be Elon Musk. Peter Thiel?

Thanks Claws for the new thread. Things are moving fast.

Hello yolo -- I've learnt a lot from these threads and hope you'll come back and post if you feel like it. Smile

Cometh the hour, cometh the ............ Oh, forget it:
@ByronTau
Paul Ryan: "Russia is a menacing government that does not share our interests and does not share our values." Says Russia interferred in 2016 elections, citing House Intelligence Committee report. "It’s also clear it didn’t have a material effect on our election," he adds.

@ByronTau
Smart question from @mkraju to Paul Ryan, noting that the Republican-run House Intelligence Committee report on election inference said there was no evidence Putin preferred Trump. Putin himself said yesterday he wanted Trump to win.

President Obama has always been a v. good speller, lion Grin.
He's rocking the silver fox look, too. Lucky Michelle.

BolleauxtoBankers · 17/07/2018 17:02

Obama is absolutely awesome. Wish there was more he could do to get rid of Trump; this speech seems to be an alteration from his normal course and an admission that perhaps he should no longer politely stand on the sidelines - after yesterday's performance by "them", it's a case of desperate times calling for desperate measures. I hope.

BolleauxtoBankers · 17/07/2018 17:05

Yes, he is, sooo much, isn't he mimi lustful Grin And to think I used to criticise him for not fulfilling his promise, or his campaign promises.. Little did I comprehend how much worse it would get and how the complicit GOP insisted on tying his hands so he could accomplish nothing. Also, he behaves like a gentleman, and they have no notion of the meaning of the word and are proud of it.
