Hubby has taken our dog to a local wood, and lets the dog go for a run.
He goes at different times and different days.
He came home and told me that he has seen the same woman ghost five separate times so far. Tonight with bonnet wearing woman made him jump when she popped up in front of him. When he said 'you made me jump', she smiled nodded and walked away from him.

He was quite serious but I asked why he thought she was a dead/ ghost? He said because she is wearing a long coat and a bonnet type hat.
AIBU to suggest that this woman isn't dead, isn't a ghost and is an odd lady with a strange fashion sense?
He is quite firm she is a ghost, and walks along the path but not on it though the trees.

personally I am glad we are going on holiday soon my hubby really needs it asap.
Then again AIBU?

Good point shatners where are all the ghosts in jeans? Or in kappa tracksuits? Or punk ghosts from the 70s?

PanPanPanPing · 17/07/2018 08:48

I agree with PPs, you must go with him next time.

PuppyMonkey · 17/07/2018 08:53

I see the same bloke walking down the quiet country lane near my house every single time I go down there - doesn’t matter what time of day it is, he’s always there. But he has no bonnet and wears jeans so I guess that rules out the ghost thing no? Grin

YoYoNoMore · 17/07/2018 08:56

I saw a ghost once. The usual script - in bed at night, on my own, in darkness, woke up for no reason, saw a grey mist in the shape of a person at the bottom of my bed. I fully expected the image to disappear as my eyes focused better. But it didn’t. At the bottom of my bed was a young lad in a baseball cap and tracksuit. I screamed and kicked out. He disappeared. I searched every corner of my house but no sign of an intruder. I guess it was a modern ghost. I’ve experienced other events, but this was the most visual one.

LittleLionMansMummy · 17/07/2018 08:58

I think the heat has affected him. Make sure he drinks plenty of water in future.

TheHulksPurplePanties · 17/07/2018 09:01

no one ever see ghosts at ten o’clock on a Tuesday morning in Tesco.

Fairly certain I've seen a few on a Saturday morning, looking for hangover cures....

coolncalm · 17/07/2018 09:02

Ghosts don’t exist and it’s not arrogant to say so.

Oh of course they do, and actually it is arrogant to make such a claim. Its implying all the people that have experienced them are stupid, and that you know better than them.

Hideandgo · 17/07/2018 09:06

LTB! What else is he lying about! Next thing it will turn out that his penis fell into this lady in the bonnet he keeps ‘running into’ in the woods.

VanillaSugar · 17/07/2018 09:09

shatnersbassoon. My DD went to a Quaker school and no one, ever, teachers, staff, parents nor students, ever wore a bonnet.

Hmm
StealthPolarBear · 17/07/2018 09:11

Puppy is that your dh, walking with you?

tillytillytilly2018 · 17/07/2018 09:13

Ooooh let’s tell ghost stories 👻 😁 I once saw a woman dressed all in black in the middle of a field whilst on a walk. She looked like a witch! I turned around for a second as I heard a boom noise, turned back and she had disappeared! There’s no way she could have left the field so quickly!

GiBlues · 17/07/2018 09:15

God damn it why can’t I find the Savernake thread!
I wanted to have a look

ShatnersBassoon · 17/07/2018 09:18

shatnersbassoon. My DD went to a Quaker school and no one, ever, teachers, staff, parents nor students, ever wore a bonnet

That would be fairly obvious to everyone. But you're familiar with traditional Quaker outfits, right? Confused Or do you think that modern Quakers not wearing such things adds to the growing evidence that op's husband is communing with a ghost? My point wasn't that all Quaker women wear bonnets, in other words Smile

shitsgettingreal · 17/07/2018 09:22

He's trying to get you to take some turns walking the dog. Grin this!

Seriously, everyone locally knows there's a ghost, they've all seen it, but no one's bothered recording or proving it? Go for it OP! You'll make millions on your book deal.

StealthPolarBear · 17/07/2018 09:23

Yes he needs to video her next time... Actually no don't. I can just imagine the thread from her on here :o

TwatSlapper · 17/07/2018 09:28

.....it's implying all the people that have experienced them are stupid...

...or mistaken. Or lying. Or unwell. Or asleep.

.....and that you know better than them

There are no such things as ghosts. It's a physical impossibility. Anyone who knows this does, in fact, know better than those who believe.

Emmasmum2013 · 17/07/2018 09:32

@Curtainshopping

You took the words out of my mouth!
I'm not a believer, purely because I have not seen proof. Show me some proof and I will change my mind.

roseblossom75 · 17/07/2018 09:36

There are plenty of people in our village who could easily be mistaken for ghosts if they wandered into the woods!

smithsinarazz · 17/07/2018 09:37

To be fair, there are many possible explanations of what DH saw, as the thread above shows. Nobody needs to be horrible to one another.

Omzlas · 17/07/2018 09:37

I love me a bit of woo in the morning

I've seen a ghost - a dark figure crossed my path a bit ahead of me. I rounded the corner and he (?) Was gone. Nowhere he could have gone as there was only a small semi circle of houses and all of them had security lights. All the security lights came on when I walked past them but none had come on until I was there. No car running etc etc, there was literally nowhere the figure could have gone

I assume the PPs stating "ghosts do NOT exist" have some form if evidence?
Would be much better, IMO, to say "I do NOT believe in ghosts"?

Omzlas · 17/07/2018 09:38

Oh - OP, I'd definitely be walking with hubs, out of curiosity if nothing else!!

MadisonAvenue · 17/07/2018 09:39

@GiBlues apparently the Savernake story is in this thread
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2733872-to-ask-what-s-the-weirdest-strangest-creepiest-thing-that-has-ever-happened-to-you

It's the one about someone house/dog sitting when one of the dogs gets out at night.

GiBlues · 17/07/2018 09:43

Thanks madison
I’ll have a read through 👍🏻

Sammymommy · 17/07/2018 09:46

I have no idea what your husband saw, but daaaamn people who say/write "I know THE truth, there is no discussion, people thinking something else are stupid" are so smug and annoying, no matter what they believe in... Party poopers Grin

Haworthia · 17/07/2018 09:50

Funny how ghosts always wear Ye Olde Fashioned clothing. You never see one in an Adidas tracksuit, do you?
