Hubby has taken our dog to a local wood, and lets the dog go for a run.
He goes at different times and different days.
He came home and told me that he has seen the same woman ghost five separate times so far. Tonight with bonnet wearing woman made him jump when she popped up in front of him. When he said 'you made me jump', she smiled nodded and walked away from him.

He was quite serious but I asked why he thought she was a dead/ ghost? He said because she is wearing a long coat and a bonnet type hat.
AIBU to suggest that this woman isn't dead, isn't a ghost and is an odd lady with a strange fashion sense?
He is quite firm she is a ghost, and walks along the path but not on it though the trees.

personally I am glad we are going on holiday soon my hubby really needs it asap.
Then again AIBU?

No such thing as ghosts.

People are very silly.

FrogFairy · 16/07/2018 22:48

Those of you who have also seen ghosts please share the woo.

Betsy86 · 16/07/2018 22:49

Scared myself reading this but need to know the outcome when you join him on the walk.......x

ohdeardeardear · 16/07/2018 22:50

Honestly, it'll be some sort of Downton Abbey fan fetish thing. Notice how she nods, smiles then walks off? She wants him to follow Wink

ShatnersBassoon · 16/07/2018 22:57

So nobody on Facebook guessed the ghost lady in the woods would be wearing jeans and a t-shirt, or a prehistoric animal fur covering? They all thought it would be wearing something from the ghostly period of the olden days. Well that's impossible to explain...

Auntieaunt · 16/07/2018 23:00

Currently living in a really old building (think centuries) with an ancient burial within metres of the garden fence - no sleep for me tonight (but on the otherhand I do love a good 'ld woo thread).

serenajneedsashag · 16/07/2018 23:00

An escapee from Gilead?

AlphaBravo · 16/07/2018 23:03

Wooing shamelessly for placemarking.

TheFrendo · 16/07/2018 23:04

Tell him to get some evidence, a Nobel prize or some other form of global recognition awaits....

53rdWay · 16/07/2018 23:10

Somewhere on bonnetwearers.co.uk/forum, there’ll be a woman explaining that she sees the ghost of a man and his dog every time she goes for a walk in the woods.

Redundancy1 · 16/07/2018 23:16

@53rdWay brilliant!

OP you have to go with him!

PolkaHots · 16/07/2018 23:16

Is he having a breakdown of some sorts?

Alibobbob · 16/07/2018 23:16

Ooooh can you share the Facebook ghost stories?

welshmist · 16/07/2018 23:19

Had a few ghosts in one place we lived when I was small, day and night, they were mostly going about their business. But I played with a little boy sometimes. When I described his clothes my mother realised I was seeing them too.

AnduinsGirl · 16/07/2018 23:23

I love the arrogance of those who post "there's no such things as ghosts." As if anything outside of their sphere of understanding could not possibly exist. :D
200 years ago, the concept of pushing a button and being able to communicate with someone the other side of the globe was laughably impossible...now of course it's almost mundane. Not a massive "woo" type myself but I do have to smile at those who piss on others' chips on these threads :D

Keel · 16/07/2018 23:28

Grin 53rd Way

Raines100 · 16/07/2018 23:34

Hate to piss on your chips, but vampires and werewolves aren't real either.

serenajneedsashag · 16/07/2018 23:35

Never mind seeing a ghost.
Hubby? Really? Grin

ShovingLeopard · 16/07/2018 23:38

If she definitely isn't a living person, it sounds as though she might be an earthbound spirit, who either doesn't realise she is dead, or for some reason deliberately chose not to go to the light. If he's feeling brave he could ask her why she's in the woods/where she's going to get more of an idea.

Greatorb · 16/07/2018 23:38

Ghosts do not exist and anyone thinking they do are quite simply bonkers.

bevelino · 16/07/2018 23:39

I want to believe OP’s dh as the phenomenon is not easy to explain. Although I do accept not everyone who says they have seen a ghost have actually seen one. Now seances are a different matter altogether.

ToeToToe · 16/07/2018 23:40

There's been some great and v scary werewolf tales told on MN. I could not vouch for their truthfulness personally of course. But I certainly wouldn't go wandering around certain parts of the West country at night Wink

I do believe I've seen a ghost - because I thought it was my child walking past, and called out to him - only to have him answer me from downstairs. I can still visualise the child-like figure walking past me - just out of the corner of my eye.

Could have been a hallucination I suppose. I was painting a wall - so perhaps it was the paint fumes. I said to him "don't come in here darling, you'll get paint on you." Confused

pictish · 16/07/2018 23:41

It’s nothing to do with something being outside their sphere of understanding Ansuins...but rather outside the sphere of reality. Sorry to piss on your chips but the moon isn’t made of blue cheese.
