I find this astonishing ... I'm a huge fan of Alison Moyet's and she has been so supportive of the LGBT community....

You can identify as anything you want these days, except as a woman. Consider what happened to British singer Alison Moyet. Moyet's response to being called cis was quite gentle. Yet she got attacked on twitter with a pile of hate tweets and eventually gave up after being assertive but not aggressive with comments like
"I will name you as you identify. Must you afford me less?"

How could they do this?

I’m getting really fed up with this shit. I’m a woman because I have a vagina and female specific chromosome make up. My husband and son are male because of their chromosomes and they have a penis. Men who undertaken full surgery and hormone treatment are transsexuals. They aren’t women because their chromosomes are still male and they have not experienced the lifelong position of being a woman. Alison Moyet is fucking great. It was a bit of an own goal to attack her in that way, IMO.

If 'transwomen are women' is the TA battle cry then surely 'ciswomen are women' is the logical corollary to that thesis? We are either all women or nobody is a woman. It makes no sense to say 'transwomen are women' and then deny the right of 'cis' women to call themselves women.

My biggest problem with this TA-shaming stuff, apart from the fact that it's always aimed at women and rarely at men, is that it has such weak logic at its core. They go around in circles to the point where we have now reached the lunacy where a born-male who wears a mini-skirt and renames themselvesTiffany has more right, in their eyes, to say 'I'm a woman' than a biologically born female. Complete lunacy.

Men have always had rights, they have never ever been in debate, never been considered, never been threatened, since our ancestors fought, and how they fought, to get some rights for us, we have slowly been demanding we are treated with the same respect automatically and without question given to a man , it seems that now we are starting to seem as though we are on a equal footing, now a lot of the hard work has been done that some men now choose to become "woman" and share in those same rights, but not only that they want to take over and be womens rights and the actual women are expected to step aside quietly and accept what ever left overs there are, taking over so much that we are no longer meant to be called women but cis-women or risk being called trans-phobic or a trans-shamer or any other insult meant to put us back in our place... as far as i am concerned you can dress like a girl as much as you like, call yourself Dorothy if you want but you will never BE a girl no matter how much you want it or how much you cut off, because you are man with a mans rights, you will NEVER know the struggle of a woman and NEVER understand actually being a woman, so telling me a woman, that from now on i have to be called a cis-woman to please you, a MAN, well you can get fucked i am a WOMAN! and nothing you say or do will change that, i do not give up any of my rights, they were and are hard fought for and will remain MINE, you find your own path, dont take the easy way out and try to take what is mine or you might find you have a very real very unwomanly fight on your hands... you can dress like a girl, call yourself Martha, fuck you can call yourself a Donkey if you want.... none of that will ever make you Martha ( or a Donkey) no matter how much you want it

When people used to swear blind they were Jesus or Napoleon, we didn't all meekly agree, and call them by their preferred name, we sympathetically got them medical help for what is clearly a mental illness.

I am tired of men gaslighting women by pretending that male = female or that biological sex doesn't exist.

By all means, if you're a bloke and you want to wear a skirt or have long hair or make up, go for it and enjoy it. Lots of gorgeous men eg Bowie, Bolan etc carried off that look very well.
